  1. $50 usd ? If it was a 1969 manual with the car sideways slightly , the sky's the limit ?

After July 1st, I will be paying at least $ 1.50 Cad $ for 1 ( yes , one ) litre of regular 87 octane . It will cost me over $180 to fill up my work vans , each tank , about a tank and a half per week . Right now, today , it's at 1.47 . By July 1st our wise Provincial leaders in B.C. will adopt a 2 cent per litre ''Carbon tax '' which they claim will go directly to STOP pollution etc. etc. I know and understand we still have cheap gas in North America , but isn't this the tail that wags the dog ? And yes, our esteemed Premier drives a big white Yukon , what great optics and insight !:squareeye

English first please , are you trying to scare us on the left coast ??? Jeez, only 15 % of us speak Franchaise , yet you write the Bible in French first , English second ??? Have a good time , and layoff that poutine 'n' beer.

That's crazy ! What's going on with our weather ??? Even up in Victoria B.C. Canada , late May is normally 18-22 celcius , lows to 10 , and we're still getting frost ! Slow pitch sucks at 6 degrees 7-9 PM with wind and rain , yet they predict warm + sunny . What's up ????

You will have to manipulate the latch mechanism manually from the top of the door , either the rod fell off or the handle itself is broken . Remove the passenger door panel and plastic water shield and see how it operates , then try connect a door opening tool with the mechanism to pull it back to release the latch ( drive the car over to a good locksmith or body shop ) . It's fun and games , be carefull . Also shim the door at the bottom to relieve the pressure , maybe push the door in at the same time ( stiff weatherstrip ) . Good luck !

  11. I really like the graduated system here in B.C. Unfortunately some parents ''give'' their kids brand new exotic cars as their first ride ! How 'bout an SL600 Mercedes , or a little 18 year old sh!t in our neighborhood with a 500 horse Mustang , waking everybody up at 2 am . Please don't fall into the parent trap '' Dad , can I have a race ready whatever , and make payments ''. Those red ''L'' and green ''N'' tags are there for a reason , and I swear there's got to be 15 Mustangs around here that have the green ''N'' tags , all over 300 horse , and no way should those kids be driving them . :stupid:

O.K. I'll say it since nobody wants to put old yeller down - this car is just about beyond saving from the rust monster - just enjoy your project , and be carefull how far you get into it dollar wise ! Yes I know , I'm a mean guy ...
  13. You also have the rare factory Datsun stick to hold the hatch open ! And the obligatory 13 pennies , left by your generous previous owner !

This seller was involved in a messy situation a while back, we roasted him maybe a little unfairly , maybe not. Do a search . I had him over to look at a parts car and thought I was misleading .... tried to mud me up with the local club .... do not deal with him if you want to feel clean , and that's all I'll say.

This subject was dealt with in earlier threads ! I'm a locksmith , and after 25 years of dealing with automotive locks, it never ceases to amaze me to what extent people will try and go through to chase down lost keys on the cheap. A competent locksmith will have good code programs in his arsenal , and at the least an old book of codes . From there he / she can originate keys by using either a punch machine or a computer controlled mini cc machine , google ITL1000C for example . You will end up with factory perfect keys ! Now for the people who have lost their keys and codes, hire a MOBILE locksmith , and have keys made on the spot . Don't waste everybody's time and just bring one lock to a shop , you cheapskates out there ( unless you really are broke , then go ahead :nervous:) . This rarely works . So there you go . A competent locksmith , a few bucks , problem solved ! Yes there are variances to early Datsun systems , but late '70 and later are all double sided keys . You can get ALL locks to work on ONE key if desired , once again call a good locksmith . ( I've got GM locks on the doors of my '70 ! They retrofit quite nicely, and no one can pick 'em or ''wiggle'' their Datsun keys in my locks and open the doors ) . Lots of options available , just phone a locksmith, not Mcguiver shadetree to ''save'' money .
  18. I'm with Arne on this one . Take the car to a mall parking lot and do a series of figure eights . With a tight LSD ( you might have a posi unit ) it will clunk or " bang " . Probably isn't as pronounced on wet roads , right ? My old Ford Bronco got so wound up it would hardly want to turn until I put it back in 2 wheel drive ! It had posi lockers front and back , and hammered loudly when it loosened up going around corners . :classic:

    I can't make it out , is it a Crown turbo kit ( Holset blade ? )

I bought this for my '70 , I am running H.I.D 's with proper relays but the old long pigtail burnt up quickly . This company makes an o.k. product , truly plug in, screw down and go, no more problems - although spendy at $200 USD .
  21. This seller pulled items that I was bidding on . I then accused him of bad ebay practices , to which he said '' my description of these are inacurate , that is why I pulled them ''. These were rare chrome 240z emblems for the side pillars with chrome z's, only on the earliest cars. I have reported this guy to ebay :classic:, and expect full retribution with a cheque for $10,000 dollars ( CDN) !!
  22. To the original question : There is a semi correct way of doing this for an early series one , mine is done and you can see the 20 mph under the sticker ( it shows through faintly ) . I can try post pics to show you , but the original installer just put it on without trying to be officer friendly exact about it . I'm sure it's out 5 mph , but who cares ?

  24. No , seriously , '' I have went to college '' tells us you really should take a second look and stay in school of some sort . The video game reference struck a nerve no doubt , but as stated was not intended to flame you until now . . It really sounds like you didn't get it , and now you are backing off on the two hundred mile an hour thing . Sigh:disappoin . Anyway, good luck to you . I started with a GTO , tri power carbs , and lots of tickets , so who am I to give any advice , right ?
  25. Now for something completely different - besides the above threads - STOP playing video games , , actually buy a car , and have fun . Modify slowly so you can see each change work for you . 200 MPH is not available to you son , unless you encase the entire car in resin , and load an exotic v8 in it , and have weeks at the salt flats . Oh yeah , cooling and brakes ......... NO flame intended :rambo: .
