Yep I read em all . What I would like are actual pictures of the areas, maybe before + after the repair ?

Ok , here we (I) go again ... I'm needing pictures of which areas to fill in to stop the cabin leak . I know some members here have it nailed as to exactly where these inner panels are that leak the smell in ! I'm tired of getting the looks at the grocery store line up. They must think I tried to off myself without success in the garage with a tube ! My eyes literally it's so thick . My wife refuses to come with me on weekend cruises. We burn my clothes after I come home . I need to shower right away . The cats won't come near me . Please help . Pics ? :embarrass:

Please follow through with a proper claim to your insurance company. If insurance companies did not exist, Judge Judy wouldn't have a show . Don't ''help'' this person out , because it will cost you .....

He can get his ''new'' replacement early series 1 , single sided ignition ( if that's what he's replacing ) rekeyed to his original single sided key if he so desires . Or , he can get an ignition that can be rekeyed to match his doors and hatch , as long as his existing door keys will slide into the ''new'' , replacement ignition assembly. This '' new'' lock will then be a later , double sided setup . Life is easier when you need only 1 key to work the whole car IMHO.

I think what he's asking is : If he gets a replacement lock , can it be altered to match the existing locks AND KEYS on his car.The answer is yes if : his key will go into the new lock . It won't go in if it's the wrong keyway ( profile at the front of the plug ) . Best regards from Unkle , owner, Armour Locksmiths in Victoria B.C.

Why not carefully drill out and install new pins , and use liquid metal adhesive to hold the new pins into the emblem. You can even use threaded stock, and fasten with nuts. 2 way adhesive won't last I don't think . Once prepped and re pinned, it should beat the original style '' one way '' stock fasteners .

He's just finished watching 8 hours of the Barrett Jackson auction.

So does this allow the exhaust gasses in ? Is your gasket / weatherstrip flush with the metal edge all the way around ?
  9. VIN number , man ! VIN number ! Make us drool .:classic:
  10. Unless there is a member who is a car dealer , Will wins ! Oh , I would have left the Volvo out .....

Be sure your deck / heads are not machined for sure , even changing a blown head gasket by a previous owner could scuttle your plans!:surprised
  12. 4 V8 vans 3 Honda motorcycles 2 Datsun z's 1 Mower 1 Stihl chainsaw 1 Weedeater 1 Br500 leafblower 1 Powerwasher 1 3000 Watt generator 1 Corvette = 70 cylinders , I'm 42 More interesting would be a reference to average horsepower per cylinder!

  14. Mike , you have a dead Optima ? I just bought 2 red tops , and they need special care to recharge them. A low ''tender'' charge with an auto shut off seems to really work well . High amp charging will overheat them . I just googled this subject and there's lots of feedback . I'm going to buy one of those multi bank trickle chargers , to hook up 3 batteries over the winter. Does anyone have feedback on these chargers ?

Bad reports from them, lost parts to customer's restoration projects , etc. Customers removing cars from their shop !
  16. General overall shape is now shown, although the rust on the lower fenders looks like it could be mud as well . Maybe a higher pixel shot (better camera) should be used ! Clear pics removes all questions but also reveals the work needed to restore or part out..... Your asking price might be $1500 ( MAYBE ) , not $2800 . It's really that far along the rust path , IMHO . Oh, the mileage is probably 147,000 . No way 47,000 unless it was driven in the winter for those years.
  17. High detail , large pics ! Now I might try the trailing arms on my '73 roadster!

Settle down already ! Jeepers you are so right, I don't have a leg to stand on . I obviously don't have any clue . Man you schooled me ! I guess I should have added a smiley or something. Have a nice day . Peace , O.K. ? And now I'm going to add to this as Enrique has decided, as a ''MODERATOR'' to step over the line with his big shot ways of talking down to someone . You , Enrique , deserve a shot . While you are up on your seemingly high horse , you fail to realize that you can't tell the tone by reading TYPED words . As a MODERATOR , you need to take a step back and realize others read these threads , and I was only trying to help . You have to be able to provide an inviting tone so others won't feel verbally lambasted for providing different opinions than yours ! This is an official complaint about you to those who care about this site . You have dragged this '' lost keys '' topic way off in to the bush , and you should at least right this and appologise to our members for going WAY overboard with your way of chastising others.

Easy now . At least I wasn't trying to flame someone....:classic: Any big city has it's problems , even here in sweet Victoria, but he was just talking about a freakin key being made , we're not selling a key .....

No , I meant the actual work takes 5 - 10 minutes. Why not be sure and get a quote from a locksmith down there ? There must be millions of cars in that city - probably 50 locksmith shops too ! At least if they come to you, your ignition wont get '' lost '' in the transaction.
  24. Unkle posted a post in a topic in Help Me !!
Why take it out ? Leave it in, call a locksmith , he'll come to the car and fit a key to it ! Takes 5-10 minutes .

Lately the kids leave the hood black to show off the carbon fibre . The tuners spend upwards $3000 to show off a 30 lb weight savings and to have that custom look. Other legit reasons ? Dunno.
