Runs good, but won't cut off***
Not to hijack , but the term '' cut off '' sounds wrong and slang like. You mean to say '' stop '' . I've even heard '' cut on '' refering to '' cut on the gas for cooking '' . Sounds and looks silly when you type it ! Imagine what non english speaking people must think when they read '' cut off '' for stop !

WE are stumped brake fuse over heating
There's a member here that makes improved complete wiring harnesses for your car( just the tailight end if that's all that's needed) . Get rid of the near 40 year old crap and put his on . Also MSA has modern plug and play fuseblock assemblies using new style fuses . Go that route and your issues ( electrical ) will be solved.

Hi, new member from Ireland
Howdy Paul ! You will soon be told of the Datsun 12 step program. I guess metal rusts the same there as here , so we share your pain . What looks good ain't , eh ?

Infinity G35 oil consumption problem
True dat . But for a hundred bucks and less than an hour this bandaid actually works . Only the squeakiest wheels got their motors replaced by Infiniti . Otherwise the blems were rebuilt , top end only with rings. This oil ''catch can'' works on most motors , and the theory holds so true that it's a rule at mini cart racing to keep oil off the track . Maybe they've perfected this on the new FX50 , it's still early.

Infinity G35 oil consumption problem
I have a 2004 Infiniti FX45 with the V8, 60,000 k's . This particular motor definately has an oil ring blow-by issue . High compression , race rings and a heavy throttle foot can exacerbate this . Some oil will pool in the intake plenum , but the vapour will also get mixed with the air/ fuel mix causing detonation and poor performance. The '' fix '' is to install an ''oil catch can'' before the PCV valve thereby eliminating the engine recirculating it's own puke . Some drivers need to empty their oil catches once a month ! Others report very little after 6 months . Do a search on this topic at infiniti.org or ''infiniti scene'' 's website. This info is for both the VK and VQ 8 cylinders and sixes. Oh by the way, anybody running with full synthetic oil with these motors, a recent analysis shows higher levels of metal wear than normal . No difference with regular oil - you are practically wasting your time if you think synthetic is actually saving these particular motors from premature wear and tear !

Stainless Steel Bumpers for 240Z
Actually the duty for repro parts for an old car is extremely reasonable. I crossed the border on the Blackball ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria with at least $3000 USD worth of crap from a race shop for my '74 Bronco . They charged according to a list for the year, make and model . Mine came up at less than 4 percent . Why bother to hide any purchased items if it's going to be that cheap ? :paranoid:

Stainless Steel Bumpers for 240Z
Type of stainless is key - I have the latest ''stainless'' from our far eastern friends with other products - and it simply does NOT stand up to regular old school quality stainless . Real stuff would be twice that price I would guess...

Finally bought my first 240Z (pic inside)
Nice . Wipe your lense , I thought I lost a contact lense.....

1970 Series I 240Z Unique Parts
Hi 26th (Chris) the car I saw had original , mis matched , un molested panels. It looked very noticable , the gray surrounds/panels not even close to the rest of the interior's black colour . These were definately *not* rubbed or worn !

1970 Series I 240Z Unique Parts
Well..... here's a case or anomaly (sp?) I've seen a low vin car (in the 100's) with distinctive gray , not black , not black rubbed off , not painted inserts and radio surround at the upper console. Our cars were side by each to do a comparison , and the difference was as plain as day. The gray color almost matches the gray tailight surrounds. So , after seeing other early vin pics on the various websites confirming these gray parts I always thought these were only found on really early z's.

Lots of looks, but not many bids on my 71.
Swine flu , gas price instability , and of course the economy aren't helping anybody sell old, used, insignificant cars right now. I have a nice '73 Vette roadster that I couldn't give away in this market climate . Lots of looks but $19,000 CDN ? No way . Your car isn't too bad , maybe ebay isn't the right place for it. Good luck !

Seller of bum Vette online-pays in court!!
Funny , sounds like something that we were discussing earlier.... but the u tube clip of the Volvo wagon smoking a Yamaha R1 is entertaining !

PCV System - Oil Catch Can
So I've seen this simple mod / add on at the other sites I frequent. My newest car is an '04 Infiniti FX45, and this add on pertains to all cars with the PCV type system. It's a simple oil / air separation setup using either a home made / store bought air compressor separator can that's installed between the PCV valve and the carb/plenum/what have you. This traps the oily/fuel contaminated mist that's blown past the rings, stopping it from being sucked into the carbs or intake plenum in the case of my FX. My 240z has a Crown turbo kit , and I think I'd have to add an extra one way valve because of the added pressure. Any ideas ? My skills entering links to this topic are limited . Also an added benefit to this would be no loss of octane due to oil contaminated air being burnt in the combustion chamber that causes detonation and pinging. Does anybody have this setup ?:bulb:

New 240Z Door Panels 70-73
Yes I know and emailed him ( our friend Datsun Parts LLC ) and told him about the availability thru Canadian dealers . He said , " If it's true , send me as many as you can and we can both make money etc etc. " Whatever , it's his right and philosophy on life I guess . So we all know by now , forget ebay and at least check dealers first . :bulb:
