  8. Zed Head, Per CPM (https://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978/brake/brake-master-cylinder/from-sep-71) the post 08-1971 is below. Note the positioning of the forward most reservoir is behind (in reference to the front of the vehicle) of "R" line connection The Page BR-3 and -27 show the forward most reservoir is forward (in reference to the front of the vehicle) of "R" line connection

Please help me identify the exhaust pipe shield in the attached photos. (I do not know if it is even for a Datsun Z!!!) I obtained several used parts from a foreign car repair center several years ago. The owner could not verify the application for the exhaust pipe shield. Thanks, Keith
  10. Please help me identify the brake master cylinder in the attached photos. (I believe the brake master cylinder is for the 1969-8/1971 240Z part number 46010-E4602.) I obtained several NOS parts from a foreign car repair center several years ago. The owner could not verify the part number of the BMC. Thanks, Keith

Here is my 2+ year seat project:
  16. It is quite fascinating that someone would bid on a vehicle based on photos and seller‘s description. There is no substitute to actual in-person assessment by someone knowledgeable about body work, paint and mechanical operation. This examination can turn a potential disastrous purchase into a real pleasure. My estimation is a flipper of vehicles does not care, as they are concerned with turning a quick profit on “business” inventory. An enthusiast may very well relish the process of vehicle acquisition and ownership. Pressing a “Bid” button does not necessarily represent passion for a specific vehicle, only the financial wherewithal to trade money for metal. Keith

True statement. The entire 3D printed strip could be painted black (with proper prepping) and then the wrap material could be applied to both chrome sections and omitted from the "black" section. Keith

Since I started this thread, please do not consider this a hijacking! With all the innovation in 3D printing, does any have experience scanning the 240Z Chrome Strip and printing them with high resolution media. If successful, then the strip could be wrapped with a gloss silver chrome product (https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/dc/v100832898/). Thoughts? Keith
  19. Charles, There is no weatherstip above the hinge plates, so they will rust quickly if not painted. The plating is not a substitute for primer, before laying down the paint. Please let me know when you have a pair available. Thanks, Keith
  20. Since I will use an epoxy primer, I prefer not to have the parts plated. (Stripping off the plating is always a time consuming process.) Please keep me in mind if you have an unfinished pair. Thanks, Keith
