On a related note, I guess the general concensus would be that if you have gotten any brake fluid in the booster, you need to replace it also? I probably drained a half cup out of it.
  3. I wonder how close the 76 diagram is to a 75? Thanks for sharing all your hard work!!!
  4. Hey Dave, Are you gonna change to an adjustable proportioning valve since you went to the ZX master cylinder? I read somewhere that that was necessary to keep the rear brakes from locking up before the fronts.
  5. Thanks for the positive comments on the reproduction boots. I really appreciate it. For IM71Z or anyone else interested, the boots are still available. Price is the same as before. Series 1 shift boot - $45, Pigtail boot - $20 and the emergency brake boot - $25. I also have the grommet for the shift boot for $3. 1 of all 3 in the same material with grommet is $83 shipped. Bryan
  6. OOPS! Your're absolutely right! Thanks Geezer.
  7. Does anyone have a part # for the white 19 tooth speedometer cog for the the 3.90 rear end? I thought I had it and they sent the 17 tooth. Thanks Bryan
  8. I'm about to do this exact same procedure on a 75 280. Any more responses to iflyfasts questions? John? Thanks

Hey Scott (or anyone else), With the poly, is this really loud and annoying, a real nuisance? I'm on the verge of doing the same replacement. I wonder if it would be possible to "trim" down the top and bottom of the polys enough to still be able to insert the factory "stopper" on the top side next to the body and get the benefit of the poly and eliminate some of the whine? Just a thought. Bryan
  10. Thanks guys, I appreciate it! Sounds like kind of a pain though.
  11. Has anyone ever removed a differential flange from the differential? I need to switch the flange from my 75 R200 over to an 81 differential so the driveshaft will bolt up. Is it very difficult to get the nut off and how did you go about it? Thanks for any help.

I actually have a grommet that many of the members purchased that is very close to the original. Actually closer than the one pictured I believe. Bryan

WHOOPS, It was over on Hybrid Z. They were seats from an 88 325i. I knew about yours Will. By the way, do you have any photos of yours?

I have searched & searched and I still can't find it. Someone commented about using older model BMW 325i seats in a 240Z. I believe it was within the last 2 or 3 weeks. Anyone remember where it was? Thanks
  17. Roger is a great guy and will do anything he can to help you out. Sometimes he is hard to catch, but he's a busy guy. I have found that early in the morning and late in the evening is the best time to catch him.

I expect to get in some carpet today, that judging from the 2" sample they sent me may be a suitable replacement for the early Z loop style carpet. The carpet has the rubber type backing. I have an original drivers side floor mat that I will be trying to replicate for ZUP, and you guys to take a look at. If it meets the requirements, I think that with the correct patterns I can reproduce complete sets with the correct serged cutouts for those who are interested. We'll see how this first mat turns out and go from there. Bryan

I still don't believe this show is any more realistic than professional wrestling! Sorry, just my opinion.

Keep tryin. Roger is a great guy and is a one man shop. He has been in the process of moving for a few months. Try the 800 number and leave a message.
  21. Man Carl, does this subject hit a sour note with me. In fact, sour (sore) for the last 10 years which is how long its been since I attended a convention because of the very things you have mentioned. I returned home from the York convention in 97 with 2nd place in the "stock modified" class and having no clue what the deductions were for. The judging sheets finally arrived weeks later showing a total of 269 points. It was only then that I find out I had 11 points deducted in my engine compartment for "non stock" items such as oil filter & hose clamps. My car wasn't in the "stock" class. I had points deducted for "clock doesn't work", "dome light doesn't work" in the interior. The moron didn't take into consideration that my battery cable was disconnected!!! Needless to say, I had spent 5 years preparing a gold medallion car only to get shafted by 1 judge that was too much of a coward to sign their name legibly and another that was a member of the Tennessee club I was a member of at the time. A nit-picking judge is one thing, but there is no excuse for an incompetent judge at what is suppose to be a National level event. Sorry to rant here but I've heard this same story so many times from other (1 time attendees) that it makes me sick that nothing is ever done. You have absolutely hit the nail on the head. The real "customers" are those of us who have "put put tens of thousands of dollars, plus untold hours into their cars, then at great personal effort and expense bring their pride and joy to the convention, and pay to enter a Judged Car Show". One things for sure, the ZCCA convention car show is currently nothing more than a "run of the mill" event with a National label. Whew, that felt good! Been waitin 10 years to get that off my chest!! :classic:

Same as what Xray said. I had a jet hot coated header, 2 1/2" ss pipe with a 3 chamber flow master on a mildly cammed, otherwise stock engine. The sound was perfect, HP gain is neglegible like Xray said for street driving. Just my .02 worth. Good luck! Bryan

Just thought I would "repost" this since no one has acknowledged it. Hey Midlifecrisis, can you send me swatch? Just trying to help! Anyone? There has to be a solution to this butterscotch material problem! Would it be possible for someone to send me a swatch of both fabrics from maybe underneath their seat or something? (where fade has been minimal) I have tons of sample books and numerous sources. There has to be a close match available, but I need something to go by. Bryan
  24. If anyone is interested in reproduction tool pouches, tool bin liners or later model 1st generation shift boots, I have made up some that are pretty close to the originals. The material on the bin liners and tool pouches are not like the originals but look very nice and match the early shift boots, e-brake boots and pigtail covers that I already made. The bin liners are $25 a set, the tool pouch is $25 and the shift boot is $35. All prices include shipping. These are all handmade and I believe are of the same quality as the other items. Hopefully these photos come thru O.K. If anyone needs more info. or would like to have one of these items, let me know. Bryan
