  1. I took a grinding wheel and put a slight bevel on each side of the cast strut assembly (same orientation on each side) to give a bit of a "ramp" for the bushings to get started as I used a 2 lb sledge to "tap" the transverse link assembly w/ bushings (well greased with silicone grease) into place so that the spindle pins could be installed through the whole thing. This tip/trick was told to me by Scott Bruning, original owner of ZTherapy and is supposed to be included in the ZTherapy Suspension Video. Worked well for me, and I've had no problems in 4 years of hard street driving. If you have any questions, send a PM & I can try to explain better.
  2. Nope, Only way to get new chrome/plastic covers is to buy the handle COMPLETE w/ covers. They have never been available separately to my knowledge (even back in the 70's). New handle w/ covers $26.00 USD from Chloe at MidwestZ

Yes. it is very restrictive. Racing is "close" but you would expect that given that currently they only race on Oval tracks. No road racing, though they claim to be considering it for future years. I'm hoping the idea of 2.4L V8's that Max Mosley was mumbling about is just a "stick" to prod the manufacturer into some other form of financial restraint. On our SPEED TV channel they have telemetry showing RPM of some of the racecars. Mercedes and Minardi were the only ones I noticed that were shifting at 18,000 or below. Ferrari, BAR, and Renault were shifting at 19,000 +
  4. I have not done this Mod, but my understanding is that you must use the S12W calioers with the (thicker) vented rotors. Otherwise the pistons would protrude out of the caliper in a dangerous condition. Can anyone verify this? Will? Keiith? Panchovisa? Greyghost? mperdue? Anyone else?

Must agree 100% about the marshalls letting Ralf sit there for 3 minutes before anyone arrived at the accident scene. It must be investigated and they have to ensure it never happens again!! Gazintas, I remember those thangs! I understand about Elle-May Clampett. There was an Elle-May in my math class also. Thank goodness for calculators! Though maybe it had to do with the +15 offset mentioned in the 2nd paragraph (about 16" wheels) or something. I get really lost on this offset stuff (all on my own) then different people explain it different ways, and some folks get + offset and - offset confused when they discuss. John Coffey had me spinning in circles one day. :cross-eye :cross-eye :cross-eye

Didn't attend, but watched ALL of the practices. ALL of the Qual Sessions, and ENTIRE the Race. (as usual ) Compare an F1 car to an IRL car!?? Drivers? Equipment? No comparison, none whatsoever. No passing in F1? Two words.........Alonzo & Sato! These guys are going to be fantastic to watch throughout their careers! Two apparent Michelin tire failures at critical points on the track. Scary!! :tapemouth Thank goodness Ralf wil be OK! Fernando was lucky as well. Bit of a fiasco by the rule makers. Was NASCAR handling the officiating? Criminal to allow Montoya to race for 60 laps (from starting last to 3rd place!) then Black Flag him for a pre-race rules violation!! I want someone's head on a stick! :devious: IRL stands for Injury Racing League.

I'll bet if you pop them up (one at a time) on eBay, you'll make a few bucks in short order.
  9. Bet they charge an arm, leg, and one testicle to get that much power out of that NAP Z based engine/head combination.

Yes, I figured that part out. What confuses me is : "To change a +35mm wheel to 0 offset, you would need a spacer 35mm thick." I think I understand it this far. 35mm offset wheel, 35mm spacer to put back in ZERO offset place. BUT Then, "If you put a 35mm spacer on a +40 wheel, it would be effectivly a +15 wheel when you finished." Following the first example, I'd have thought the wheel would be effectively a +5 wheel. 40 - 35 = 5 ? This is where I get lost.

    ? ? ? I'm lost here.

I think you miss interpreted my comment. It wasn't directed at you or any specific person. As for your victory in the spelling bee, well, I think 90% of Americans over the age of 3 could "win" against that opposition. Not exactly an exclusive club. BUT, I bet you could build a mean Z ( and "he" can't spell THAT either!).
  13. Not sure I understand. YOU get embarassed by Clinton's antics? Why? Obviously he's beyond being embrassed by his own shortcomings. So long as you didn't vote for him (I didn't either) we both can blame his election on the "other guy". He ain't heavy, and he damn sure ain't MY President.:classic: PS I like watching people prove they are fools.
  14. . He also perfected the art of "smoking without inhaling". I think he'd have a Z33 to attract the younger chicks. He'd make a great Springer PPV episode. I'd also rather drink w/ Steve than Bill. Especially if Terry were serving the drinks.:cheeky:
  15. Any further word on if Mr. K will be attending?

He should have bragged on his driving skill then, not comparing his Z to the Ferrari. To paraphrase the famous line in "Fast & Furious": "Winning is winning, by a second or a mile." Also we don't know the traffic or road conditions. Could have been too twisty to USE the Ferrari power and prowess, or too dangerous. Nobody get me wrong, Ferrari has it's share of wankers, just like Porsches, and Honda's, and (sadly) Z's; but the "story" is really an non-event as written. Or.....put ME in the Ferrari and see how the story gets told! :cheeky: "Man, I left this wanna-be driver in a Z eating my DUST!"

Hi David: True, but nobody in their right mind brags about beating Billy Joel in a auto race, or Geo Bush in a spelling bee. Jaynez31 tallked almost exclusively about the CAR, barely mentioned the wanker driving it. Eggs = Cojones = *alls

  19. Geez, Bill Didn't mean to scare you away.
  20. Very unlikely since they are the only part that breaks on the grab handle.
  21. Bambikiller240 posted a post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
I gotta agree with moyest, all jaynez31 did was keep up with the Ferrari (tailgate him). There is no telling how far off in the weeds the Ferrari could have left the Z if he wanted to, if traffic and safety allowed. I don't see anyway a Z driven to it's best performance could equal the peformance of a Ferrari 575 driven to it's best performance. I am not putting down Jaynesz31 for dreaming, I have my own fantasies. But they involve myself tailgating Kiley Minogue and Britney Spears! PS to Bill: Ever notice a race horse's tail? They can tell when there is a fly on it's a$$ too!
  22. Paint it how YOU want it. Who cares if someone else thinks you are trying to be 18. Screw 'em!

can't "cream" somebody if you're tailgating him. He who arrives first wins.
