Thanks for the clarification. IMO the retraction was a very wise decision. Like Chris said, it's a resource, not an asset.

Rebuilding ZX 5 speed
Where is this website? I don't see a link anywhere (unless I'm missing something) I'd like to look at your site if I could find it.

27th z!!!
You must be looking at a different auction. Only $500 and 1 bid as of 4:45PM today (Sunday) Would scare me away: 1. No view of driverside (what is he hiding, worse swiss cheese than he's showing us) 2. Inspection doors gone (allow rain right onto battery area) 3. Huge rust stains above battery area (probably the tip of the iceberg) 4. Somethig funky going on at rear bottom of pssenger side fender 5. "the engine is seized but not the result of engine failure" (who cares what reason it's seized? 20 years of rust still ruins the engine internals. I guess he's bragging that there isn't a HOLE in the block. ) 6. "the cylinders were oiled to reduce further damage". (WHEN in 2001? after they rusted for 18years? :stupid: Strip it and bury/cremate the remains. It's dead. :dead: :dead:

Crank shaft pulley,Euro Damper, INTERNAL BALANCE DAMPER ASSEMBLY
The part commonly called a crankshaft pulley OR called a Harmonic Balancer/Damper is actually two parts combined into one, The cranksaft pulley AND the damper (also called a Harmonic balancer). The Euro damper, or Race Damper from Nismo are differnt versions of the same part. I've never heard of an "internal balance damper assembly".

I have you checked to see what mods are allowed in the class you plan to race in? Just thought I'd ask.

"R" Rated NZ Tourist Joke
OK Michael, Ya got me. The joke as sent to me did use Australia as the setting for the joke. I changed it to NZ because last time I posted a sheep joke using Australia as the setting, the Aussies jumped on me and said that they didn't farm sheep in OZ, that NZ was the place to go for a Baaaa-d time! As for the sheep/bike picture, that was posted here first by an Aussie in response to some NZ "sheep" comment or other more than a year ago. I just borrowed it. It comes in handy every now and then. To close to call.
Bill: Glad you are OK, but keep in mind that generally fists are no match for knives (or guns for that matter), so don't go feeling all RAMBO about your narrow escape. Keep your eyes open & your powder dry!

Rear Suspension Urethane Bushings
Hi Gary: I did this job on my car without a puller (actually, the Machine shop pulled the pins for me with a 30 ton press, a torch and $50 of my money ) about 3 or 4 years ago. Currently, I have a friend who wants to do this to his car, and I offered to help him. Also, I have a couple of Rear Suspension corners in my garage, and I want to separate the A-Arms from the Strut Tubes so that I can store them easier and in a smaller area. BTW, The Puller arrived today. Box looks OK. I haven't opened it yet to read the instructions that you mentioned. I'll get to that tomorrow or Sunday and if I have any questions I'll email you. I shouldn't need this tool for longer than a week to 10 days at the most. I'll email you when I ship it back with reimbursement for the shipping cost that you incurred in sending it to me. Thanks again for lending it to me. Carl

72 240Z Door Locks
Your door locks are working the way they were designed to work, Vicky. Quite a few (though not all) old car locks are like this. My Dad, who worked in car dealerships as a Parts Deptment manager from the late 40's thru the mid-80's always told me that some manufacturers designed the locks to operate this way so that people couldn't leave the keys in the ignition and lock themselves out of the car. FWIW,

"R" Rated NZ Tourist Joke
A tourist arrived in New Zealand, hired a car and set off to view the countryside. On his way he saw a bloke having sex with a sheep. Deeply horrified, he pulled up at the nearest pub and ordered a straight Scotch. Just as he was about to throw it back, he saw a bloke with one leg masturbating furiously at the bar. "What the hell!" the tourist cried, "what the hell's going on here? I've been here one hour and I've seen a bloke shagging a sheep, and now some bloke's wanking himself off in the bar!" "Fair dinkum, mate," the bartender told him, "you can't expect a man with only one leg to catch a sheep"

I did it, bought the 350
well, as long as YOU are amused. That's what is important. :stupid:

I did it, bought the 350
Well don't expect a bunch of people who are into CLASSIC Z's to care about your new fangled Toadmobile. If you like it, fine. I don't have to. PS I'm not grouchy. I just fail to see why anyone would "expect" CLASSIC Z people to care about a car that isn't. Thats what the 350Z forums are for. As for hostility, you are the one who has injected hostility with your "diaper" comments.

I did it, bought the 350
Well ya don't go to a Ford forum to brag about your new Chebby. No one wishes him ill, but as people into CLASSIC Z's many of us don't really care about the 350Z. I notice tht you didn't give him a "warm welcome" either. Did you post just to revive the S30 vs Z33 war?

Shipping a 240z from AZ to MN
Think QUALITY of service, more than price. Lots of *things* can happen to a car in transit. What kind of things? *THINGS* you don't want to think about happening to a car you just bought. JMO,
