Clutch Problems
First if all Gav let me apologize for leading you down the wrong road with the slave cylinder call, it's rare (with my experience...) that a clutch just "gives up" all of the sudden with no slipping or whatever, but I will say that with redoing everything as you have, you will be safe with upgrading your clutch system. Whenever I replace a clutch, I do the slave also..... I keep hearing that the redline product is a good fit as it can make the transmissions shift easier? I know that's its synthetic, and I hear of many others upgrading to this. Anyone else wanna chime in here? Jetjoc? Beandip? I think that they (to name a couple of members) know more than I here... Have a good Monday Graham. ~Brian

Improving existing fuel cap under $2!!
I planned on posting the update this morning. So here I am... So far so good!! No signs of deterioration or discoloration, it's been on the car for a few days now and it's a bit of a tight fit, but not impossible to put on. You may have to bend the "tabs" on the cap out slightly, but I have a great seal and no more fuel down the side upon the hard left. I am pretty sure that EScanlon nailed it with the sythetic rubber evaluation. So all in all, not bad for $1.79. Hope this helps some! ~Brian

New Z Recruit
I second that e!!! I started with a 280 and now have a 240. At the rate I am working lower in the numbers I will have a 220 next. I vote for a 240, but whatever you choose, do yourself a favor and read up on some threads on rust areas to watch for... Most are fixable, but be sure that you are getting a car that is road safe, and not too bad for the fixin'. ~Brian

New(er) Seats... Opinions?
I like that steering wheel at the top, I am sure that I don't want to know the price... Those are 205/55/15 Proxes 4 on 15x7 Hayashi rims. I am really happy with those tires... THANKS BRUCE!!! It's no show winner for sure, it has it's share of typical Z issues, the paint although is not too bad really needs to be redone due to "crows feet" on the hood from bad prepping from the last apint job... And I need to replace the dog legs for sure, that is a (hopefully) spring project. It's a 10/10 car, 10 feet of 10 MPH... I am still thinking about switching back to the chrome bumpers as I have a set... Opinions??

Filler Cap...
I am about Z'd out this weekend... After the seats I decided to tackle the fumes issue. So, did my homework on the threads and sure enough, there was a breach in the lower portion of the rear quarters. I sealed those up, and that seems to have cured the exhaust smell... The fuel smell was STILL THERE. So I inspect that waste-of-time canister on the passenger side. Well there is a hose MISSING, MAYBE THAT'S IT. As I can tell, Its the hose that goes back down to the tank on the drivers side. Here is the question, I just put a hose on there and capped off the hose. Is that gonna fly? The hose is sealed, it is not on the tank, I am just wanting to make sure that I am not messing with air flow and such for fuel supply. Thanks.....

Rough idle when cold
That is exactly how mine behaves, I think that I could use a dialing in, but other than that I agree with Gary that it is what it is.....

Improving existing fuel cap under $2!!
Ok, please tell me if I am nuts here, I can't see why this won't work... So as some of you know, I have been having issues with fuel down the side of the car on a hard left turn. I called around for a cap, and nothing was avail until next week. So, as I was in Ace Hardware to grab some c-clips, my curiousity got the better of me and I wandered over to the plumbing isle. There I found a waste and overflow washer that is a great replacement for the rubber in the stock cap... It's made of synthetic rubber, it's a bit thicker and provides a better seal than the old one. It fits almost too tight but after a few twists, it adapted down a bit and now while tight, is not impossible to put on. I just took out the old rubber and worked this where it was. The best news is, it was $1.79 verses the cost of a Dealer Replacement cap! I am going to attach pics, but that part number from Ace is 46122, "Waste Overflow washer". Lemme know what you think. And yes, I will deny that there are toilet parts on my Z!

240z rear end clunk - differential?
I agree with Carl, it sounds like the diffy mount. The rubber casting fails over time and allows excessive play upon torque. Gary heard some horrible noises from my rear end about a week ago. And the Z was bad too!! Tip your waitresses...

And again, Arne and Gary nailed it for me on this one... As I see it , I will go to the show (doglegs in v-fib and all) and take in what I can and meet up with a few Z cronies that I have met along this journey. For me it's about a group of people sharing a common interest. ~B

Steering Rack bushings . . .
You guys are going to make me dial up my therapist reading this thread.... I don't remember much as to my first Z, BUT I REMEMBER THAT COUPLER WAS A PIA!!!! Holy crap, it was a sonofabitch. Thank God the Z I have now had it done before I got it. I am interested in any feedback that is on the coupler, I didn't know the boiling water trick and will use that upon doing the rack bushings... (if they need it, I have not really checked...) Have a safe Cinco De Mayo all, good luck to De la hoya, I can't wait for the fight. ~Brian
