  1. I don't think you would have any problems fitting them in a RHD Zed. They look similar to the headers that are available for the Z down here. But I'm just guessing. I think the issues with some Z headers in a skyline is that some Z headers have clearance issues with the Skyline Steering, since the steering assembly is behind the cross-member, whereas on a Z the steering is in front of the cross member. Maybe grab a tape measure an check that they will fit ok.

Thanks Ron. Now we know both sides of the story. I don't know alot about BRE and any opportunity to find out more is a good thing.
  3. Yeah Coung (Yellow RB26DET 240Z) bought it (the car, not the spoiler) off the prevoius owner (who was some relation to the original owner, who put the V8 in it and I think that spoiler). Then Coung sold it to Paul, the current owner. That spoiler is still for sale if anyone wants it.

I don't think he's trying to pass it off as one either (a BRE race car). I think people are just inferring that because of the association with BRE. To sum it up, I think this is a promotional car. An advertising tool, painted to look like a BRE, with special gear knob, badges, and other bits of trim. A demo car of what this "Trans Am" package would look like, that BRE and this Marketing company the seller worked for were trying to sell. Some of his wording is a bit strange but I don't get what all the fuss is about? I think he meant "take his stock 510" to BRE and have them give it a mild upgrade and a make-over? Surely racing teams had marketing strategies to generate extra cash? He should have posted the questions he's been receiving on the auction. It's easy to get emotional when people start saying "that aint no BRE car" (as it sounds like people have been doing), when you worked with BRE to develop the car. I think he's in the best position to know what the car is. - if you take what he's saying as genuine, and I don't see any reason to doubt him. You either take him at his word or call him liar and a con man. Either way I agree with Marty. Nice condition 510, but not worth more than any other 510 in the same condition. The fact that it was a failed marketing concept car wouldn't make me want to pay any more for it. ....now back to my real life

I wonder if the G37, GT-R and the next Z (Z34?) will be all based on the same chassis like the current z33/g35 coupe. Seems like a logical move to save costs.
  6. I've never seen a scuff plate before. All the zeds i've had (4 of them) never had them, and I've never noticed them on any other zed i've seen. Anybody got photos? I'll have to look out for them at the next club meet and see if anyone else has them.

Theres a Datsun Super Six for sale on ebay-au. Tidy looking car, would be a great restoration project. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230109579225 The seller says it has a 2.4 liter engine, but I think they originally had a 2.3 liter.

Did you weld up the join where the headlight bucket meets the fender?
  12. Auction was canceled, and the seller say he will relist it. Heres the reason he gave for canceling the auction: So heres the new Auction: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250097518041

Think 1984 commodore 64 verses modern computer. If you want tune-ability, by a megasquirt.

Yeah Probabaly is. There was alot of L20ET's in Perth in the 90's. Grey area imports from japan form the mid to late 80's. A mate of mine had a Skyline 2000GT C210 back then. I know of an old guy with 5 L20ET's in his garage/shed. Was your car at the last Z day? I remember there was a Red 240Z with a turbo L series. Theres a Green 240Z turbo L in Perth too.

EKW had an S20? Did they even know what it was? How much was it sold for? Did someone score a bargain, or did they have to sell a kidney? Is that the S20 you have Alan? So Ray's selling the C110 with the RB20 (with the fake dizzy) and putting an S20 in an S54? Seems like and odd character this Ray fella. Speaking of S54's anybody hear on the grapevine what happened to the 2 that were for sale in Tassie. Hmmm, S20 replica cam cover that bolts onto an RB20/25.......

Cool. Find out what model and year it was out of if you can - it might help some other aussies track down the illusive P90. I have a P90/F54 L28 in my daily. Didn't realise it was a L28 till I was filling out the rego change-over forms (Assumed it was a L24, since it was a 240K). Then after getting it home and giving it a tune up, I saw the P90 casting code in the head As for the intake manifold, you don't really need to use a "turbo" intake manifold, they are all very similar, except the turbo manifolds had over-pressure relief valves in them. Lots of people use the N42 non-erg intake manifold for its clean uncluttered apperance on turbo L28's. I have one of them also, that I plan to use in my turbo build-up or I also have the turbo manifold off an L20A, but probably wont use it. Jump on Hybridz.org theres heaps of info on there about Turbo L28's. (More than here, since this is primarily an S30 Z site, and the L28 was in the S130 Z). Post a pic of your intake manifold I, or someone here might be able to identify it.

Hmmm, some sort of cheap econ-box appliance car huh.

I recon a fair price would be $3500 to $4500 I guess. What you driving now Lachlan?

Something fishy going on here. Bid retractions, now only one bidder, that looks like they are bidding agianst themselves? If I was bidder 2 i'd be pissed. Its at $8000, and you are the only bidder, and you previous bid was $6000. Still very expensive, even though its a nice clean 240K. http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=250093479464 I think we will see this car re-listed.

Heard you found a P90 on a complete engine. What car was it of?
  22. First time listed with a reserve and buy it now of $5500 - didnt sell. Relisted again with no reserve - winning bidder was for $2,700.00 by thatonetallgirl, who is seems didn't really want the car - if you read the feedback, she didn't go through with the purchase. Maybe it was offered to the second bidder as a second chance offer, but since ebay changed to the anonymous bidder system (which sucks) you cant tell for sure if the current seller bought it, washed it, and is reselling it.

    Nope your not missing anything.
  24. They are R32 Skyline GT-R factory mags, and yes, the message has been puzzling gai-jin Skyline owners for many years now. My R31 mags say "Wind blows from west" though I don't know if they are factory or not.

So you planning a turbo Z project Aaron? Look for people wrecking late model 280ZX's (like 1982 onward) you might find one with a P90.
