My GL (1/74 compliance plate) was doctored with GT trim. It has the 240K GT door trim badges, and the 4 speed GT gear knob, as shown above (even though its got a 5 speed).

I think the Whiteman park classic car show would be more interesting for you Rick, so if you could convince the misses to postpone the holiday a months or two. I think its usually in march. I'll check and get back to you.

I just watched the original gone in 60 seconds too. Was cool to see the Datsun office and Mazda dealership with the RX-3's in the showroom. There was a green 1200 coupe at carwash when they stole the tv stars car (I forget his name, I'd never heard of him anyway), and I spotted a few 240z's in the street driving scenes, most of them parked. But more interesting to me was, why was there a blue 240Z in their warehouse of stolen cars? It's not on the list of cars they were supposed to steal in the movie. Maybe it was originally but never made it into the movie, apart from being parked in the warehouse. Or maybe it belonged to someone associated with the movie, or was just a customers car that was in the guys shop at the time they made the movie. (The guy that made the movie ran a repair shop, and thats where the shop scenes were filmed). You only see it for a second after the mustang drives past it, when they are going to dump the mustang.

The 240K with the S30 front end photo I saw was real, but man it was ugly.
  6. That sucks man. I guess moving it to the back yard isn't an option? Selling the whole car will get you out of trouble with the county. Parting it out might leave you with a half assembled shell and no time to get rid of the rest of it, and you might have to give away whats left.

    I once saw a picture of a 240K with a 240Z front end.

Yeah, ive seen them before. They are made up of 3 parts. The central datsun badge, and the 2 separate badges either side, the left one is just the bar thing. The right one is the bar incorporating the 240K GL. I'm 99% sure the when you pull the badges off you will be able to put a badge like Art has on there.
  9. Maybe i'd swap it for a Z432R, or a C10 GT-R
  10. Links were removed from youtube for copyright violation ( episodes 1 to 6 were on there). Some leet haxors may have been able to copy the vids before they were removed. Or you can just wait for them to be translated and released on DVD like Inital D was.

I think the panels are the same, its just that the badges are different. Underneath the big Datsun badge is the narrow indent that the jdm skyline and export datsun badge fit in. I pulled the badges off the back of my sedan and it had the narrow indent.

Is there something wrong with the rear panel thats on it?

I think that the first Z's to get LSD were the Z31 turbos. S130's I think would be open diffs even on the turbos (unless its been modified).
  14. I didn't realise it didn't have its original engine.
  15. If its an ET it would have a turbo hanging off the exhaust manifold. Pretty hard to miss.
  16. Sure does need alot of work. One for the low vin loving guys. I expect you could get a higher vin Z in pretty good condition for that price.
  17. + 1. Then it will just cost you the price of the gasket (if nothing else breaks while changing it).

920 is referred to as Gold. 918 is orange Chris B was having a lend of ya. Though i think the meaning of what he was saying was lost in translation. Nappy in Australia = Diaper in USA So when he called it nappy tan, he meant baby poo brown.

This is the same colour isnt it? http://www.tomitaku.com/works/tc24/index.html looks more orange on that car. Edit: that car is 918 orange, the one on ebay is 920 "Gold" (Tan). I like 918 better than 920
  20. This is quickly becoming a "Show us your tats" thread (Not to be confused with that other thread starting with B and ending with oobs) I don't have any, so heres someone else's: venom42's tat: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26303
  21. Heres another car with a g nose, though its a IMSA kitted car and the g nose probably wouldn't fit a regular z. Cant really tell from the photos, but it looks like its molded with the flared fenders http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/car/437487464.html
  22. Welll then you just get the celica dragon tat as well.

Thought it looked too small to be an R180. Its an R160.
  24. You mean S31 or Z31? because an S31 looks the same as an S30.

Got a digital camera? Take a photo of the back of the diff and post it up here. The differences are obvious to the trained eye. If you dont have a camera, well the back plate of the R200 is rounder than the R180, which is square-ish. Also the bolt spacing of the mounting bolts for the R200 are wider apart than the R180. Just search the forums for "R200 R180 differences" (not in quotes) and you'll find some usefull pics and info.
