Whats this called exactly?
Yes you have to block up the hole in the air filter box, or you will be sucking unfiltered air into the engine. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5348

Found this 240z Convertible
Actually the 240Z was designed as a convertable up to the point of a full scale mock up model being created, before the idea was dropped in favour of the car being a hardtop.

any 240k for sale
P.S. theres a guy stripping a 240K sedan and selling the parts on ebay at the moment. Sounds like he's going to crushe the body shell and anything that doesnt sell. Maybe he should have shipped that car to the middle east.

any 240k for sale
Yeah, especially since they cant register and drive them legally in the middle east, so they just end up being stripped for parts.

Steering wheel ID help
Mines a GL but basically identicaly to a GT. I've never seen a C10 wheel apart from pictures, they look similar, but are different. The C110 does look fatter. Also the GT-R version didn't have the spoke horn buttons (and was a leather style wheel like the nissan competition wheel) and the center logo was different for home market (JDM) cars. Lachlan would know more.

300Z drivetrain in a 240?
none of the suspesnion from a Z31 will fit in a S30 Z. Diff will fit if you get the R200 mounting hardware from a 280Z. You'd need custom engine mounts made. not sure about the postion of the sump on a VG30, so you may need a custom one. Also you may need to have a drive shaft made up. And hafl shafts may be a problem too.

You can download it from http://carfiche.com/manuals020/cars/ If it says TnA, just wait an hour and try back, they have a rotating links system, which changes whats available every hour

My first Z car! 56k....you guys are still around?
Arne means 905 red.

A Spare R180?
I was thinking.... Might not be the diff thats the problem. might be a worn out uni joint in one of the half shafts. or the drive shaft. Might be a good idea to jack up the back of the car, and check for play.

L28ET, how common/rare are they in the US?
NOt sure about over east, but we got alot of 80's grey market second hand imports in the late 80's, so you can sometime find C210 skylines with L20ET's, though they are very rare. I know of a guy with some (about 5) L20et's lying around his shed, but he wont sell any of them.
-
L28ET, how common/rare are they in the US?
Nope, but you can find L20AET's in Aus (or NZ), which you can strip for all the necessary gear to put on a L28E and have some fun. Thats what I have planned :classic: The L28ET comp ratio is about 7.9:1 I think the L28E has a comp ratio of 8.5:1, still low enough to add some boost. The L20A turbo exhaust manifold will bolt right on to a L28. You can find P90 heads in Aus. I believe some aussie delivered nissan must have had them (either 280zx, patrol or 280C), because I have one on an NA L28 in my 240K, and I doubt it came from overseas. I dont know if the L20ET oil pump is the same as the L28ET, as all my parts are still in NZ, but I plan on doing a write up of the conversion of a L28 to a L28ET once I actully do it, but thats a long way off. Theres alot of information about L28ET's over at www.hybridz.org
