  1. Aussie 240z's didn't have hazard switches installed, as fas as i know. None of mine have had hazard switches.

Buy a cheap 260z 2+2 and get the bits out of that.
  3. You gotta ask why? Surely putting twin turbos on the 3.5lt V6 would make more power than the 2.6lt. Maybe its going to be a four wheel drive 350Z, umm 260Z (2003 model) whatever you wanna call it. Upsets the Z naming conventions doesn't it. 2003 260Z GTR? If they dont connect up the 4wd, whats the point?

We can get 9 characters in WA on the polycarbonate plates. "Datto240z" anybody? I have other ideas for 240z plates, but i'm keeping them secret untill I decide which one to use.

I was just about to ask who you were talking to? You seemed to be having a nice conversation with yourself.:classic: P.S. If your steering wheel is looking a little old or the finish is chiping off, they are easy to restore. I did mine and it looks great.
  6. There isn't much room under the guards for 8 inch rims. Some people fit aftermarket coilovers that have a narrower spring diameter (i.e. skinnier than the stock macpherason struts & springs) to gain a bit of room. The other option is to use wheels that have a different offset so that the extra width of the rim is on the outward facing side of the rim, AND flare the guards.
  7. I've been modifying a model that i got from a need for speed site, as a base, adding more detail, and making bits myself. I'd like to model the whole car piece by piece, including the engine internals, though its going to take years, because I dont work on it very often. Would be able to make some cool animations then. I've some more animations, but they are too big to upload.
  8. Here's a zipped quicktime movie of the avatar animation. avatar.zip

Reminds me of the simpsons when the comic store guy is looking up stuff on the internet on Mr X's (Homer's) website and he says, and I quote: "Oh No. There is no emoticon to express how I am feeling"
  10. Yay, somone finally noticed my avatar! Yeah its an animated gif that i made. I made a 3D animated scene of the 240z in lightwave then exported each frame as a separate image. then loaded each one in imageready and converted it to an animated gif. I had to keep lowering the image quality and shortening the animation to keep the filesize small.
  11. Member Nixcars has a 240z that he's putting a sr20 in. He'd be the guy to ask. Putting a 4 cylinder engine into a 6 cylinder car seems a bit odd to me. Not that I'm against it. Have you considered an RB engine?
  12. Ebay shouldn't allow auctions like that, since you arent actually buying anything. all you are doing is paying for the opportunity to buy the first convertable they get. Idiots.

Whack everything with a hammer before trying to undo it.

Sounds like a problem. Rear wheel camber is supposed to be non adjustable, and set at 48' (thats 48 minutes, which are fractions of a degree). Might be a bearing problem.

Euro lights? Please. Lets set the record straight. They are Aussie Lights! You know I'm right.

240z are about 1025kg in weight, so they are wrong and are charging us too much. (I'm in WA).
  17. Someone has a free 240z in texas that they are going to crush by the end of the week if none takes it off his hands. I'ts not what you are looking for, but if you want to strip some parts. Or if anyone else wants it. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6251
  18. I saw an ad in the West Australian for the new mini that said it had a vertical parking system so it could park on walls. How dumb do they think people are? Well actually if your dumb enough to buy a new mini for how much thay are asking for them, then you are likely to believe anything.

Another thing. For 6 months: My honda has a tare wieght of 975. Lic fee $53.60 all other fees the same as the 240z. 240z lic fee $60.35 Commodore tare weight, 1115, $67.10 Licence fee is based on car tare weight. So if we can get the Tare weight set to the correct 1020kg we could save some $$ per year. Sure its not much (about $10 to $15 per year) but no one likes getting ripped off by the government. WA 240z owners are being overcharged!

Ha, mine is a sedan too! I just looked at the rego. and its due tomorrow. Lucky I checked it. Better not tell them its a coupe, they might up the insurance charge. It also says its a H530 not HS30. Tare 1067

I've seen the ad on the TV for the movie. You only see sleek with his head out the passenger side window and the rear side window and rear pillar. But it's enough for me to work out that it is actually a red 280ZX 2 Seater not a 280zx 2+2. Wonder where that car came from? I didn't think they were sold in OZ. Must be a second hand import. Yeah the yellow in the TV show is 260z is a 2+2.
  23. Yeah but the postage is a killer. We're in Australia incase you didn't notice.

P.S Your compliance plate is in a weird spot. Mine is forward of the strut tower, and not on its side like yours. Did you move it or was it always there? What year car is it. Mines a 72. Pics in my gallery

Its actually designed to suck air out of the engine into the air filter case, through the carbs, into the combustion chamber where the nasty crank case gasses are burned. When you disconnect it and put on a breather the nasty gasses build up in the crank case and contaminate your oil, and leak out of the breather into the air where you can breathe them in. I advise you to put the pipe back on. Use a braded pipe if you still want it to look pretty.
