Trumpets
Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone had a rough idea on the power increase or effects of putting trumpets on my Triple Webber L28. I have been told that they do in fact make more power/torque depending on the length of the trumpets but as such i havent actully talked to anyone who uses them. Also, what do you use for filters? Oil Socks? Thanks

p90 head
Hey Guys I currently run a P90 head on my f54 L28 and for my compression that head is great. Its a larger head with a great flow (remembering they were made for Turbo units) but you have to consider what you want from it. The have a large combustion chamber (54cc i think). I love it, im running 175psi per cylender as it is, so droppping to like a 88 head isnt an option for me, or ill be getting GT3 compression. But i can vouch for their awsomeness (excuse the awful english) cant help you on prices though, cause mine was on the car when i bought it

Power Output
OK Its seems i have made som etypos () over the course of this post. The details are as follows (thanks for jumping in doug. No doung im not putting an RB in); P90 head Triple 45mm Webbers MSD ignition Aparently it has a ground cam but im not sure Bored to 2.9L 200B flat top pistons Nothing has been shaved or ported as far as i know. I have no idea about the diameter of the pistons or the length of the rods as all this was done before i bought it and i havnt pulled it apart (gotten doug to pull it apart rather) to look at it. I was wondering about the head, being a higher flowing head for a turbo i assumed that it would run a lower compression, but after we pressure tested the cylenders we got an average of 175 Psi. I believe that is relativley high, so if i replaced the head and maybe made the cam mild (again not sure HOW ground it is) that should add more ponies. With my setup i believe i should be getting more power, but i have no idea where the bottle neck could be.

Power Output
Well i had it tuned and put it on the dyno..115kw at the wheels, about 161rw Hp i think. Not bad, i had hoped for abit more, i didnt get to see the torque curve but im sure that would have been huge. So basically im now looking for some easy mods for easy power, putting trumpets on my triple webbers will be the first, then i was thinking of re-grounding my cam to make it alittle mild. Anyone have any other suggestions?

MSD 6A Installation with 280zx distributor and 240Z tach
Wow thanks heaps for this as i am having the same problem. Only i cant understand what you have done to the setup to make it work, i dont have an MSD tach adapter, do i need one? and does it have to be an MSD coil? I dont really understand it when you say the Resistor is taken away either. Also, the white wire that rins from the MSD to the Ballster resistor, is that spliced in the middle and then wire into the Tach adapter and Ballaster, like the red wire. Please let me know if i am muddled up about the whole thing. Id really appreciate the help Thanks

Anyone have a Chrysler Dual Ballaster Resistor
Hey guys, Im chasing up a Chrysler Dual Ballaster Resistor and am having huge troubles finding one in AUS, so if anyone out there has one or has access to one i would greatly appreciate it. A single Ballaster is no good, it needs to be duel, they were common on 73-76 US vehicles. Thanks

tacho problem
Yeah im having the same, issue, i believe the only way to do it is replace the internal coil in the tacho with one from a 280ZX, or place a new one in there. Very disapointing to read that someone has the same problem, only to have it answered in swedish...... English anyone? please!

To be honest I was actually looking for the ignition module. In my EFI book that I have for the 280z it says I need an ignition module. I cant seem to find where they are on the 280zx. I bought some 280zx parts off a guy and saw that part...I knew I didnt have it so I picked it up.

L28 (F54) Block Problems
Hey guys a friend of mine is having some problems with his F54 L28...... "I was removing my welsh plugs (maybe they are called freeze plugs in the US?) and I think I hit one a bit too hard when I was taking it out. There is a little pipe that comes out from where the cylinder walls meet, it comes out and then goes up to the top of the block....anyway, I actually think I broke it at the top. Is my block screwed? What was that pipe for ? I dont think all of the cylinder walls had the pipe coming out from between them, just a couple. " Anyone have any ideas? Thanks guys
