  1. Is that when Nissan swapped to type B trannies?
  2. Is this it Marty? http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=99996-C3030&Category_Code=s30_nismo_shiftbushing
  3. Marty, When you go to your 5 speed I'd be interested in your kit. Thanks! Anyone know if they are still available from NISMO?
  4. Isn't a '77 5 speed tranny a type B?
  5. dogma420, It's my second. See my pics of my '78 280Z we redid. It's one reason I think this car is worth the $ because alot of what we went thru on the 280Z is already done. Marty is this kit for a type A tranny? I was aware of one for a type B. My '78 5 speed has its bushings replaced.
  6. Marty, Thanks. Your Blue car looks awesome. The driver seat had a small tear and the passenger seat was OK. He tried to match the driver seat material and gave up and replaced both with a Classic Datsun kit. The panels in the rear are faded. Looks like Classic Datsun has replacement panels. The car was bought new in FL and traded in '73 to Don's Dad's dealership. Local man bought the car at 6K miles and documented every fuel fillup on a notepad. Stops at 35K miles. Don bought the car at this time. Any tips on smoothing out the shifting on a type A gearbox. Seemed a little notchy to me. Of course it may need to brake in still!
  7. Cool. Do you have the tools to charge the old AC systems?
  8. The current owner tried charging the AC and it cooled for a bit till he found the low pressure hose leaking. It routes near the hood latch and had rubbed a small hole in it. He bought a splice connector and said that should work. Not sure he'll get it put on before I pick her up. May need your help.

  10. Cool. Thanks. This car has the vertical rear defrost lines & fuel door latch.
  11. Carl am correct in saying that a '71 240Z VIN HLS30-22975 would be considered a series II?
  12. Thanks. I am sure it is the original tranny. It didn't seem to shift as easily as my son's '78 5 speed. Of course I've only driven it once. Probably do a fluid change when I get it home.
  13. Carl, I guess my '71 240Z will have a type A tranny correct?
  14. The second owner really put cool stuff on the car such as the Momo steering wheel, rear sway bar, roll bar, spoilers, head light covers. All period correct for a '71 240Z. Don added the Panasports. The car even has a radio w/8-track tape player in it!
  15. Yea. I ordered one from Courtesy Nissan.
  16. Try here: http://www.classicdatsun.com/new/240_interior.html
  17. Thanks! I may take you up on that! I forgot you work on AC for a living!
  18. I noticed the stock wooden shift knob didn't want to tighten up. Is there a set screw or something? Wood appears darker than other 240Z's I've seen.
  19. Thanks Jason. Car ran fine with the exposed K & N. I don't figure it is any different than individual K & N's per carb sold by MSA. I'll probably do those one day. Look cool.
  20. Shouldn't be a problem. Remind me if I forget.
