Front Speakers
What size speaker would the production kick plates be for? 5-1/4"? I like the idea if you could reproduce them easily and sell the pair for $30? or close to that.. Great idea.

R/T Mount Group Buy. 2nd Batch. Who's in...
Here's a couple..... This one (below) has great pictures to show how it's installed. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35995&page=3 Post #2..... http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37518 27 pages of info in various places, have fun reading this one.... http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36463 I prefer the Bump stop option. lower the front diff and crossmember mount (4 bolts) Remove the diff strap (4 bolts) Install the R/T mount using the 4 bolts that held the Strap. Raise the Diff back up and measure the distance between the top of the diff and the R/T. transfer that measurement + 1/8" to the Bump stop (P/N is in post #1) Shave or grind off the excess then lower the diff again, install the Bump stop and rebolt up the diff and crossmember. Done Hope that helps, a little? Dave

ZCar Sales!! What's it really worth?
No real emotional attachment. I only had the car for 4 months, brought it back from the dead, worked on it, improved it, drove it and sold it. I'll use the money to help paint the 260Z project and get it moving. I wanted no less than 38 100 bills and that's what I got. I started at 42 and let it slip to 38 and and am happy about it. worked out just as I planned. Dave

ZCar Sales!! What's it really worth?
Thanks. It was kinda fun watching Jon (Jmortenson) drive it around last friday. His first drive in a 240Z in over 6 years. The new owner was very pleased with everything. even sold him some other stuff while there. Dave

ZCar Sales!! What's it really worth?
Well, She's gone!! Just got back from the Canadian Border, where I sold the Z to Richard. Great guy, he came down with Greg (Olred70) in gregs 510 wagon. We had breakfast, swapped paperwork and cash and went our seperate ways. I will miss that car. I was really growing attached to her but at the same time, knew she was going away and had time to prepare for the departing. Gonna put my focus back on the 260Z project and try getting more done this summer. More than would have been done, had I kept the green Z. Thanks for everyones input and help. Dave

so many questions :)
There is a write-up on HybridZ.org and Zhome.com? about the 280Z to 280ZX alternator upgrade. You'll have to look it up. The 280ZX Turbo's typically had 70 amp alternators but the 81 to 83 NA ZX's had 60 amp alternators and that is plenty. The only thing I would have for your 77 would be the LED conversions for the Sidemarkers, front Turn signal/marker lights and taillights. And I can rebuild your Turn signal and combo switches. Dave

R/T Mount Group Buy. 2nd Batch. Who's in...
So you've probably already seen the other "R/T mount" thread hopping along the front page. Well, Here's the official New Thread for another run of the R/T Mount Group Buy. $65. That price includes........ 1 Fully bent, brilled and welded R/T mount for your S30 Z car in Raw steel Shipping to all lower 48 states via USPS Priority Mail (2-3 day) Delivery Confirmation (which lets me know you got it, so no tomfoolery here) Price covers Paypal Fees, fuel costs for delivery & pick-up, packing etc. If you are in Canada and wish to purchase an R/T mount, Please add another $10 to the price to cover the international shipping, posibly different packaging and the "Oh So Fun Paper work" that comes with Canadian orders. I can take Cash, check or money orders made out to David W. Irwin. If you're paying through Paypal please send your payment to wolfin32z@yahoo.com Please use the "Note to seller" to tell me your screen name and what you're paying me for (R/T mount) as I sell 10+ different S30 related products. If you'd like to send your order thru the mail, please make your check or money order out to David W. Irwin and send your order (with what you want) and payment to me at........... David W. Irwin 6421 105th St. NE Marysville, WA. 98270 If you have any questions, Please feel free to ask away, either here or at wolfin32z@yahoo.com The R/T mount that I am selling is below. Unlike the one you've likely read about on HybridZ.org My design includes a 1" x 1" bend in the corner to allow ease of instal near the fuel and brake lines. The R/T can be used 1 of 2 common ways. Option #1 is to use a standard Urethane Bump stop, PART # 99101 from Energy Suspension, mounted to the R/T (with 3/4" shave off so it fits snug against the top of the DIff) and the diff remains mounted to the stock crossmember using your stock Nissan Front Diff mount. This option will "Sandwich" the diff and keep it from moving up or down during heavy acceleration, launches or sudden deceleration. The R/T mount will STOP the Dreaded "Clunk" associated with worn or torn diff mounts and prevent further damage. Option #2 is to use a GM Poly Urethane Transmission mount from Energy Suspension Part # 3-1108. Using this mount will not allow the use of the stock diff mount and it must be removed. The GM mount is a failsafe mount and will not seperate like the stock mount does. The diff raises on acceleration and the GM mount compresses with that raise, so no "Thump" anymore. The GM mount also lowers the front of the diff by about 3/4" to 1" which is supposedly ideal for use with Motor and tranny upgrades such as LS1, SR20DET, RB25, 26 and 30 DET and DETT's as well the Borg/Warner T5 and T56 trannies. Maybe even the Tremec 5 and 6 speeds as well. The R/T painted black with a non shaved bump stop (thanks for the picture Kenz240z).. Here's some more pics below.... ZCar Sales!! What's it really worth?
Nope, He totally flaked out on me. He ended up getting a "high Desert Arizona rust free Z for more" didn't even thank me for all the pics, 15 emails or anything else, just said "I'm buying a different Z" And never heard from him again. I am however meeting with Richard, a Canadian Resident, tomorrow to 99% chance sell him the green Z. He's done ALL the paperwork, phone calls and is a long time Z car owner (dealt with many Z's) We'll see. Dave

R/T differential mount
Way to make me think twice there Tyler. Let's put it this way. If a member from here, decides he'll be sneaky and try and pull that crap, It'll NEVER happen again. I'll take my ball and go home, so to speak. They'll be screwing everyone in that case. Never had an R/T dissapear. The $65 covers The R/T, Shipping ($10.70) + Delivery Comformation ($0.70), Fuel, Paypals $0.30 and 3% ($2.19), $1.00 more per R/T due to raise in Steel prices = $50.41 I ain't making much on these and hope that everyone pays attension to the last paragraph on post #38. I've only had 1 item dissapear in 6.5 years and it was a ZXP ($15 part) and hopefully, it stays that way. Anyways, Anyone else interested in this Group Buy? Dave
-
Anybody in Washington
Great, So we'll see ya there? My Z is my Avatar, look for it at the show. Tyler will be in his Primer Black 280Z with 240Z bumpers. Not sure if I'm racing or not, got a few kinks to work out and it's only a rebuilt (Not a BUILT) 260Z motor with 2 SU carbs. That's it. L26, 6-into-1 header, 2.5" exhaust, new SU's, ZX 5-speed, 3:90 LSD R200 diff, etc, etc. It's peppy, but not a race car, though I can typically hold my own. Dave C ya there?

States' Emission Laws...
Washington State is No emissions test if the Vehicle is 25 years old or older. Emission testing for those that qualify (24years or younger) is every other year of during Title transfers or sales. I think, or something like that.

R/T differential mount
So, Apparently, the price of steel (per sheet) has gone up a little and my Per Peice price has been raised. So the New Price of the R/T mounts is $65. This $65 price tag will include USPS Priority Mail Shipping (2-3 day) anywhere in the Lower 48 States, The 3% that PayPal charges me, Fuel Costs for back and forth to the Post Office, Bank, and packing supplies. When You Paypal me the $65, please use the "Note" or "Note to Seller" box and tell me what the payment is for. Because I sell over 10+ items and need specifics when money shows up. send it to wolfin32z@yahoo.com on Paypal.com So here's what we got so far...... *= Prepaid for, Ca=Cash, Ch=Check Dave (me) ..............1*Ca S30Driver................1 Chuck496................1 Brian Laine Z8..........20*Ch Gary in NJ................1 mlc240Z..................1*pp Tbone028................1 NorthernZ................1 Yetterben................1 suzook86.................1 Stovepipe................1 Katorx7...................2 Jumblies..................1*pp OK, so that's 32. Carbon Fiber Z
I guess a wrap would make more sense. The dogleg line is still there below the door and the CF lines are too precise to be paint. So I'll 3rd or 4th the Wrap. Either way, I kinda like it.
-
Carbon Fiber Z
I don't get it. Is the whole car carbon fiber? Or is it a Carbon Fiber paint job? Either way, it looks sweet but I had to shut the speakers off cause the bimbo's voice was hurting my ears. Nice car though

R/T differential mount
Thanks for the Short run down Mark. Glad you figured it out. You can However, use the stock diff mount with the R/T mount if you use a Bump Stop instead of the GM poly mount. I use the Bump stop in my Red 70' Z and the GM mount in the 260Z because I cut the crossmember into 3rds for the Dual Exhaust clearance. Phil, I'll be checking with my metal shop tomorrow. I didn't want to even check with them until I had at least 30 orders to start with. So I'll know more tomorrow evening. So I won't even guess at this point. Dave

R/T differential mount
No Problem Phil. It'll be a little while before they're ready but on a good note, Just use the R/T with a Bump stop and you'll never replace the Stock diff mount again.
