Pitts - please send me an email. I'm not on here often enough to catch all the new messages on the main page. I think they're about 14"x4". But that's just a guess. Templates are in my garage. I can make them from 20 or 18ga. Chuck cbuczesk@comcast.net

Yes, $25 shipped to Montana. I've never shipped any but I don't think it would cost too much. Chuck

I can make a copy of my template and send it to you or I could just make the metal "patches" with holes for plug welds and ship them to you. How's $25 shipped for the 2 metal "patches"? Send me an email if you want to do that. Chuck cbuczesk@comcast.net

For the inner fender rust above the frame rail I make a template of the factory "patch", remove the "patch", cut out the rust on the area behind it, replace it, make a new "patch" from the template and weld it in. I have a drawer full of templates for different parts of the car. We have a serious rust problem here in PA. Chuck

Welcome! If you're making a track car I'd keep the current dash and put a half cover over it. Sell the nice dash and use that money toward building the car. Why put badges and carpet in a track car? Lighter is faster! And it's cheaper if you don't have to buy anything. Your rust issues are very common. Keep that extra windshield. You might need it if you do track days. Chuck
  7. HLS30-14160 is stamped in the firewall? And that matches the plate in the engine room? If the door jam had a different number then you should pull up the carpets and look under the car to see if it's been spliced together with another car. If so it should also have a reconstructed title. If it's been pieced together with back half of another Z then that'll really hurt the value. Lot's of "ifs" there. Best case scenerio is that a PO removed the door plate when he was restoring the car and accidentally installed the wrong one. I know that I'm reaching but I'm trying to be positive. Pictures would help us determine the value. I'd fix all 7 issues before selling it. They shouldn't be too hard or expensive to fix but dropping the tank is always a challenge due to dirt and dry/brittle fuel line. Chuck

It goes on like in your second. pic. Chuck
  9. It looks like it's spraying out. Look at all the drops on the starter and oil filter. I'd check that hose first to make sure that it doesn't have a pin hole leak. I doubt it's that simple but I'd hate to replace a headgasket if I didn't have to. I'd try to retorque it. It might work. What's the worst that could happen? Hmmm...stud breaks, head warps beyond repair, attempt to drill out broken stud but drill at an angle into cylinder wall... Forget I said that! Temps getting down to 8 degrees here today. Chuck
  10. Someone put fiberglass fenders on #390 and didn't swap over the inspection lid bumpers. But my car does have different hood to impaction lid bumpers. I'll email pics of what I have. Chuck
  11. I'll try to check it out today. Chuck
  12. They look great! If you need any other parts let me know. Series 1 ash tray? I have a box of little NOS parts that I have to go through. Chuck
  13. I'm interested. Email me. cbuczesk@comcast.net Chuck
  14. You need that oil gutter. They're cheap, Anthor option is to weld it back together. Chuck
  15. I have a new Zedd Findings (MSA) left 240Z floor. Assuming that I have a box...how's $90 plus shipping? Email me if you're interested. cbuczesk@comcast.net Chuck
  16. 240Z or 280Z floor? Chuck
  17. Why not have it powder coated in silver, mask it off and paint the rest in gold? They will sand/bead blast them before powder coating. I've often found it to be cheaper and much easier to have parts blasted and powder coated as compared to sanding/stripping and painting it myself. Powder coating will hold up better than paint. Chuck
  18. I have two NOS switch assemblies that fit the 280ZX, 510 and 810. They're new in the original Datsun boxes. Looks like the lids were open and they collected some dust. They sell on ebay for about $250. ClassicZCars.com members can have it for $180. 25540-u8801 1979-80 280ZX 79-81 510 77-80 810 head light switch Chuck cbuczesk@comcast.net

Those are early 240Z hub caps. I bet if you look at the car closely in person you won't be too impressed. It looks like it was slapped together and painted for a quick flip. Chuck
  20. Can you post some pictures? Sounds like it might be running rich and you could have a broken/leaking intake/exhaust gasket. Once everything's set up properly you should have a steady idle around 800rpm. How bad is the leak? Chuck
  21. FYI: The Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals will be featuring Japanese cars next year. We will be there selling parts and probably showing some Datsuns. Chuck
  22. If there's just one big hole then I would patch it. But if the floor is swiss cheese then it'll have to be replaced. The one frame rail looks rough. Chuck
  23. Post a couple pictures. Chuck
  24. I probably have one. Email me a pic of your damaged one so I can get exactly what you need. Chuck cbuczesk@comcast.net
  25. It looks like there's a hole in the dog leg behind the rocker. I'm an East Coast guy so I've seen a lot of rust! I assume that the floors/frames, rockers, battery tray area, hatch "shelf", fenders and rear wheel arches have to be replaced/repaired. The ash tray is there. I didn't see any carpet or vinyl. Dash looks complete.I wish the engine was there. Chuck
