I did some more digging on an old set of hood hinges, that were only removed once, and it looks like they were plated, and then painted with the body after install. Makes sense why NOS sets are also yellow zinc plated as well.

Just looked through this entire thread, and I'm really impressed, but I did have a couple questions. Were the hood hinges painted installed to the body? I would remove those and check for any rust underneath. I'm not sure on early cars but I also thought that hood hinges were zinc coated on the Zs? Car looks incredible and the attention to detail is amazing. In reference to the extra ground near the antenna, it may have been for an option that was never used, or maybe they used it on the JDM cars, but just kept a single harness for ease of manufacture, since it looks like it was tied up in there. Looking forward to more updates as my Z goes in for body work.
