The sock can be made from their media as well(they use cotton gauze(cheese cloth) over a formed screen). It would need a wire(screen) frame to support it inside(keep it open and from being sucked into the carb), and a hose clamp/tiewrap to secure it to the ouside of the horn to keep all of the intake air flowing through, and not around, the filter. Will P.S. you are on the right track, but foam is quite restrictive

On cars that run, and have paperwork(or tags and insurance) that is all it takes-10 feet under its own power.. When the car is not running, it takes more-even if it is tagged and insured. Will

Double check the actual ordinance, the officer will repeat the complaint, and leave out any part of the ordinance that may be to your benefit-mostly because he probably does not know the wording of the ordinance. IE: Here in Savannah, I got the exact same notice you did, in researching the actual ordinance, I found I could simply move the car to the back yard and keep it covered with a tarp inside a gate, or put the car on a trailer parked parallel to, and within 15' of, an established driveway and be 100% in compliance. It can realy bother neighbors to find out the person they want to control has a brain and can read-when they find out the car didn't have to go away, and there is NOTHING they can do about it. Once you meet the letter of the ordinance-assuming your neighborhood has no covenants-you can actually file charges of harassment against the neighbors if they continue to have the city check up on you. Talk about turning the tables-I have had no more problems since I asked the city official who came to check on my cars for the third time in a month to inform the complainer (who had hoped to remain anonymous)that another visit from the city on her behalf would result in not only charges of harassment, but also a peace bond-effectively stopping her from being able to walk her own neighborhood. That was 8 years ago. In my eyes she wanted a power struggle-if she had not, she would have rung my doorbell, and granted me the respect to look me in the eye and talk to me about the problem. She did nothing but call the city. I didn't call the city, I went downtown and got a certified copy the actual ordinance-officials will back down if you know what you are talking about, and can prove it. In most areas, an official complaint cannot be legally made with out being able to face your accuser-meaning an anonymous complaints are not enforceable-easly thwarted by the city claiming responsability for the complaint-but most city representatives couldn't really care less, or didn't have time to think that up. Check the actual law, and conform to it-and only it. Will

Ebay! Just keep checking the classic, fresh restorations some people post!!! Seriously, The shell I just cut up would probably be in the running, as would #27, but I think I'll take some pictures next time I am up at the farm-I have a car that must have floated from Hawaii(Hawaiin plates anyway)-if it weren't for suspension remnants, you would not know it had a floor at one time. Will
  11. Blasphoemers! the series one 240Z is the only true S30, everything else is on this earth just for fun! I have several 280ZXGLs and on saturday I will have a 280ZXT GL 2+2. I think of it more as transportatipon for my family to and from local Z events than classic. Any well kept (or intentioned) S30 is a classic, but 240Zs are the height of that status. DZR, thanks for not putting a Z in your second sentance, it does not belong in that company! Will

The quickest and easiest way is to buy a complete running 80-83 280ZX turbo and move the engine and electronics-running rustbuckets are your best bet! That way you don't have to wonder if it will work, or hunt for other pieces. Will

I have got spares. I have no clue what shiping would be though! Speaking on a seller who makes up the words as he goes: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-240Z-1973-NEW-NOS-RADIO-HEATER-DASH-PANEL-PLATE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6763QQitemZ7997000670QQrdZ1 He wants $200 fro a 73 heater control panel, siting it may be the last one in the world-just goes to show you he lives in his own world, they are still available at the dealer for about $125. WIll
  18. Bend your own, take the old one off carefully, and use it as a guide for some stainless tubing, put in a little larger if you want-to allow for upgraded fuel delivery later-and double flare it-the tubing and fittings for total replacement(brake lines and all) will be less than $150, and you will have no further corrosion worries with stainless. Will PS straightening coiled tubing is supprisingly easier than I thought it would be.

I have bought new front fenders, emblems, map light, 73 heater control panel, wheel caps, inner and outer door handles, dome light, engine inspection light, and more all in the last 90 days. Get a copy of the club CD, look up your own part numbers and make a phone calls to the dealer, Pinnacle Nissan(nissanpart.org 1-888-998-9800), and Courtesy Nissan(courtesyparts.com 1-800-527-1909) to check prices before believing ebay ads about NLA. Several sellers make up the words as they go. Looking up your own part numbers ensures that someone will really check to see if the part is available, and not simply say it NLA. You have taken most of the bother to the counter person away by looking up the number. Punching a string into a computer is much less of a pain to them than spending 20 minutes looking for a thing a ma jig on a car they have never seen. Will

I agree with you Tom(can you believe it?). Most automotive designers today want to make something totally different than what has been, what they have absolutely forgotten is that UGLY has been around a long time. Will
  22. Enrique, I have the Same info, but they are still there, and as of a call a little over a month ago, still working-or at least supporting the work they have done. I had trouble getting the gages out of the dash to upgrade the mechanisms, and left a message. Not only did they call me back on their quarter, but they also sent me a pint of paint to use if I managed to scuff the dash removing the gages-at no charge- I was given the owners cell phone number to contact him directly if I had problems, I will dig it back up in the next day or two and give him a call to see what is what. My experience with them has been good-a little hard to get a hold of, but extreemly responsive when successfully contacted. Will

The other bad, Evidently he was the Nissan dealer, he knows how to sell a car,and whay the list on the parts is. Look at the pictures-sure looks like a hole letting light through the one of the rockers... Will
  24. Dashboard Restorations is also in Washington-they did my dash-to the tune of $550ish. Nice job, looks new, very customer service oriented. Great advuce from Gary(Beandip)-make sure you read it again! Will
