Kats, The pictures are great! Thanks for posting them. Did you paint the Heater Control Panel? I have a NOS one that has a few thin spots in the paint, and it needs some attention. ALso I have a brown switch like your ign switch that turns but does not switch, could you check the contacts on yours for me and post the connections? Thanks, Will
  2. That title can of worms is the worst of it. He didn't say "no title", he said "No clear title" meaning there is a title with leans, meaning the car was probably stolen at some point-who would take out a loan to buy a car in that shape-or why would someone buy a car in better shape and not pay it off. Huge RED FLAG...If you are looking at this car, get the title info as it is and figure out if it can be sorted out before buying her-worst case Ebay pulls the Auction because the seller isn't actually the owner. Will
  3. Well, Here is an update, We have another member of the team, and another technology to explore to get the parts done right-in terms of both looks and longevity. I think we are now on the right track, and the trials will be starting very soon. The molds I made will still be used, but not for the ultimate casting of parts. More durable molds will be made allowing for a greater diversity of plastics to be used, and thereby address the uv and heat stability needed for the parts to hold up in drivers as well as trailer queens. I wonder how many members were started in a Z on New Years eve.... Working the math backwards, how many September members do we have.... and of those how many in their late thirtys with parental units that were original owners... Will

As long as her name isn't Pamela...and his isn't Lenny... seriously Respect is the key, treat every member like Mr. K, his wife, or his secretary, and there will be no issues. Will
  6. Well, The rock that broke the mirrored window let out a great deal of the smoke, and things sure are getting easier to see... While I respect the efforts that have been made, it seems they are not being made often enough anymore. When performance doesn't respond to a tuneup, you rebuild or swap the engine, looks to me like that is were we are... Will
  7. Tony, Wow, I'm not sure if I got more from what you said...or what you chose not to...but thanks for the post-no deaf ears here. Will
  8. The title of this thread is? Will
  9. Tomohawk, How many successful carshows are there that do not include track days-my point is you are looking at only one type of customer for the Convention. The greater number is the customer I am talking about, and there is absolutely no reason both cannot be made to feel welcome and wanted at the same show.g to both is easy, and much more effective than marketing only to either one. Will Marketin
  10. With a platform involving Strip clubs beating bikini contests, I bet his media campaign will be memorable! Will
  11. Art, I am going to adopt that one myself... At the Convention, one thing stood out from everything else, there was a rather rotund (and well known Z nut)Texan there who took the time to shake everyones hand and welcome them personally on two occasions and with feeling-not the lame (coach says this is important)kind thing competing teams have, the march across the field shake at the end of a game, but what came across as a "I am seriously glad you are here." Wasn't I talking about a glad hand and a smile, he had it, and gave it away all night... Guess who he was... There is a customer saying from a overly successful business man that goes something like this: "They may well forget what was done, they may well forget who did it, but they will never forget how it made them feel". That mans welcome to the convention was that way-powerful personal marketing-he was passionate about a newbie being there-and he gave me a memorable Handshake and eye contact without prompting. What ever else he did, he did that right. Will

Sorry-I have a horrible habit of not taking care of what doesn't keep eating at me! I will find it today and send it on. Will
  13. Art, Thanks for the info I didn't quote here-lends itself to a healthy number of discussions I have going on... As for what I did quote, you spanked the nail that started this thread. Why isn't the ZCCA actively seeking to grow participation? For the hobby to grow, the events have to be readily accessable to everyone. It is kind of hard to grow enthusiasm and participation without attracting new blood. The ZCCA is no longer a marketed organization. The website, while it shows there was a great deal of thought and time investment early on, has lost the characteristics of a smile and a glad hand for the countries Z owners. Not updating the carshow results shows without a doubt noone there cares about the cars! Wait, a Car club who doesn't actively care about the cars...is that the message the ZCCA wants to send? It must be, they have been doing it for several YEARS. I am not trying t beat up the ZCCA, I am trying to get their attention! I informed them of issues with the website several times over the last year and rather than simply bitching about it, offered to correct the issue-no ressponse. My experience is most people ignore what they don't care about-ZCCA.org for instance... The website is the nationwide(and worldwide) focal point of the entire club-of course if you don't market the club who is going to look... Passion is what the ZCCA is missing. Passion about the cars, passion about presenting them in the best way, and passion about infecting the somewhat interested to allow them to become passionate as well. BTW Art, Haven't most of us 240Z subscribers taught you that it isn't about what people don't pay for, it is about what they won't pay for...Just the thought behind opportunity cost analysis...Course, it sounds like you could teach most of us how to party!
  14. Tomohawk, I could be completely off base, but I think more people would come for a weekend show and not the entire event. My point in suggesting it is that more somewhat local people will come up for a show on a weekend than will blow off a day of work to come up. As well, the tv/radio stations(around here anyway) are more interested in weekend work because they know the turnout will be considerable better. The test is when do gas stations sell the least gas-Tuesday. When do smart business offer discounts to attract people-Tuesday. When are the majority of hotels, rental cars and flights booked-weekends. Why, because travel is most convenient to the greatest number of travelers on weekends. Consequently, if an event is after large attendance numbers, the weekend is the time to hold it. Add to that getting a Friday off to be able to leave Thursday would be easier to handle than taking off a full week for most people, and open up a lager area to draw from. Several hours of driving on Thursday and up to all day Friday, means somewhere between 700 and 1200 miles(using my driving habits) of travel before the car for a show Saturday afternoon-time to . Meaning a seriously motivated Z owner could make it to the show from almost half of the country, and most of Canada and only have to miss a day of work(blowing off Monday would be a better idea, but still). If you really want to hook the participation of the the other clubs, the media, and the local car community have a side show for other makes, and a peoples choice for every marque that shows up-more work, but you would have massive participation, and really open up Z exposure... Will
  15. Except when it comes to leaving OZone alone, and time required in getting certified... Will
  16. What part? Will
  17. Thanks, I knew someone with cars as dead sexy as yours would have his head in the right place...oh come on... Will
  18. Is that as judges or particiapants? I know Chris and Jim have an "IN" with hooters girls, so maybe they can get the girls involved...with the bikini contest....ahem Will
  19. A 240Z with a serious, big buck forced induction L28 can be made to beat a stock tt in a straight line, but add a few curves, and you are either behind or off road. Just find a good starting car and keep the money flowing(through 24" drain pipe). Will

Tabco is the company I was thinking of. I have bought all of their S30 offereings, and some are a better fit than others, but they are what all of the vendors sell...and you can usually get them direct for a little cheeper-when I bought several together they ate the shipping cost. Will
  21. Uh, I'm up for it? Might take a bit of experimenting to find a suitable casting rubber that will stand up to the grease-or switch to using silicone oil after using the new boots... Will
  22. That is exactly the sort of answer I aim for with all my polls! Will

Welcome! Fenders are still available from Nissan-check your dealer, 63100-N4700 rh 63101-N4700 lh check the front page for a link to the company that makes the other sheet metal that Black Dragon stells-I forget the name, but I'll post it momentarily-the link is gone, I'll have a look at the parts I ordered direct tomorrow. Will
  24. Post your thoughts, and please include how many conventions you have been to-if any-and which ones. If you haven't been to one, post what you would hope to find in one. WIll
  25. I hope everyone will keep their posts to this thread positive, and suggest rather than dwell on history. The ZCCA is made up of hardworking volunteers that have carried the flame of Z love nationwide for a healthy number of years. Having said that, what would you suggest to make events better? Please post any serious thoughts... Will
