Maybe someone is selling the three of them to buy a vintage Z....about the same price range... Will
  7. E, I looked in Walgreens and couldn't find the band-aids you speak of... I figured you would want Sydney moon as navagator wearing...well, YOU...but I like the image of the plaid outfit better! I'd do what I am doing, building it for me-it won't be the fastest(not and issue to me) but it will be quick, it will be the quietest(inside) 240Z there is, and as comfortable to sit in as I can make it, it will have every upgrade for driving comfort(other than a compliant suspension) I can dream up. L28et, P90A(for quiet, non-valve adjusting driveability) upgraded turbo, aftermarket EFI, a 3:90(4:11 When I find one), NA ZX five speed-msa short shifter, 15" Enkieis, BRE spoilers, Urethane suspension bushings, Toyota vented four pot front brakes, ZX rear brakes, camoflaged interior customization, custome brightwork under the hood, Vintage Air climate control and more sound insulation/absorption than a recording studio. I also have the original Drivetrain with Ztherapy SUS, a rebuilt 4 speed(again with an MSA short shifter) ready to swap in in a moments notice to keep the car revertable... Will
  8. BobC That car is too beautiful, special, and desirable to let go! Will
  9. Filipe, Your reasoning is the reason Nissan stopped the program early-they found out that the restomod costs were more than they bargained for even taking some reasonable shortcuts. When commitment leads budget, the job details will almost always be better than when Budget curtails commitment. These cars are important because of what they are(a manufacturer establishing a program to refurbish and resell their own used cars as new ones), not the level of detail in their restomod. I can't bring myself to call the program cars resorations because Nissan had the ability to truely restore the cars and clearly chose not to-No Z in the early seventies came from Japan with a program plaque on the console, program stickers on the windows, or a certificate of authenticy-much less reprinted manuals. The car in this thread is a beautiful example of a program car-not a true Restoration. Compare a Program car to a true #1 stock class car they are not the same. The best kept unaltered Program car will lose points (for the nonstock items added by the program) in the stock class of a ZCCA show, and not loose any in the modified classes-meaning as a restoration, it does not measure up-clean or not. That doesn't mean I don't want it! Will

I have both versions of the choke plate, and hadn't even considered the half travel! Good point! Will PS-two hand throttle assys.....a gnose kit.....pavlovian triggers!
  13. hls30.com posted a post in a topic in Open Discussions
The DOT required the hand throttle be removed before selling the car-The throttle assembly did not have a dead man switch to disengage it in the event of an accident, meaning the engine RPM would stay as set until the car ran out of gas or the engine was destroyed. I wouldn't mind having a hand throttle in my car, but I wouldn't hook it up to work, just to look like it did. Too much chance of having a bad accident made horribly worse-even if you don't use it-in an accident things fly around-debris could set it... Will

I have driven both, the differences are noticeable in driving. The coupe is noticeably quicker and more nimble when compared one right after the other-but unless they are driven in quick succession, the only thing you notice is the difference in ride-the 2+2 is more comfortable because of the long wheelbase. 15. Be careful, This site is the ONLY one Nissan has authorized to reproduce manuals in any form by way of a copywrite exemption. We already have a DVD in progress(close to through) of all of the printed S30 factory documentation. Will

I keep the rusted area wet, and wait until I have a uniform dull gray finish-where the rust has pitted the metal the process will result in black specs in the pits, using a stainless brush I aggitate the pitted area until the specs are gone. Even in our South Georgia humidity, I have found PORs Metal ready and Ospho to be good rust inhibitors for several weeks when treated this way and placed out of the weather-if you question the protection, a simple second treatment gives peace of mind. Both leave a zinc phosphate coating on the metal if allowed to dry, I wipe the phosphate off with a cloth saturated with Laquer thinner.. BTW, I treat all sand blasted metal to the same treatment-blasting rust into the pores of the metal is not good for keeping rust gone, but followed by an acid bath, the rust does not stand a chance. Kats, It is 68835-E4100. I have heard that no cars hit our shores from Japan with out an audio system, and that these "masks" were special order-and like so many of the available pieces overlooked because of the difficulty in finding out about them-not that this one would have been a popular add on anyway. Alan, I thought it was the period music that was "Heavy"ROFL-at least it was over here! Will

Chris, At least you can borrow and play that tape from Alan! I brought the "pocket" and some other goodies down to Autoway last year to show you, but the show was too good to break from. Will

Kats, This is the "pocket" that was used here-I have only seen two-including this one. One was in a parts car I bought-or rather, what was left of it was in the car. Then, early last year, I found this NOS one and bought it immediately. Will PS. I took the picture with the part upside down to show the details of the embossing clearer-from right side up the flash obliterated much of the detail.
