  1. A man willing to put his life on the line for his beliefs is the ultimate sacrifice for his beliefs-maybe you don't share his beliefs, but you can't ignore or disrespect his commitment to them. There are things worth dieing over, and to purposefully save the life of others regardless of the associative context-is honorable. This man put his life where his words were-he ment what he said-there is no greater reason for respect. We should all be so committed to our words. Will

It must have been way too booring in Oregon-for atleast three and a half minutes...Obviously it was in Georgia too-I watched the whole thing...You could have posted something to the boobs thread instead... I must admitt, two guys inviting a horse into their car and then their bedroom-not something you see every day-and with good reason! SPCCA alert! Will

FullHouse-if you aren't interested-you don't need one.:stupid: More often than not I struggle to find the pertinence in your posts-le alone the z content. Stephen/Arne There is a difference between being put out in the yard and being reminded once not to jump on visiting childeren! I am leaning toward charging for the DVD in inverst proportion to a Members posts Z content. That is to say the greater the Z content the less the price... I bet that will be interesting...or not!

I am on the third attempt at a menu system-to get it as user friendly and totally indexed is proving seriously time consuming...and life keeps butting in... I believe everything is scanned-I'll suggest an alternative to Mike and see if we can't find away to make the files available... Will

Welcome! Nice find! I vote for restore! These cars regularly get deep into 200K before having serious issues-meaning most owners get tired of them before they wear out! The difference between the chassis and engine mileage sounds fishy, towing a z any real distance requires disconnecting the drive shaft-and that would mean mileage would not accumulate on the odometer... 6. I have cut down springs before too-it works well! The rubber in the insulators isn't profgressive rate, measure the insulator from a 240Z and cut the 280z version to 1 inch longer-done! The measurements are probably in the archives here... WIll

The aftermarket mounting kit is just a flat ABS panel to fit the radio pod and cover the extra space-trim a piece of cardboard as a template and cut one out of plywood, plastic, or sheet metal(brushed aluminum would keep a large part of the stock look). Will
  8. What about using the 280z insulators(shaving as necessary) with aftermatket 240z springs? Eibach ride with original ride height! Will
  9. I tried to call you-and edited your number to keep it bot safe. Here is the part drawing for what you are looking for. Mine had rubber boots over the connections-but looked the same. Just hit up your local autoparts store-what you get may not have a mounting hole, but it will still work like a champ! No need for OEM parts here!
  10. Welcome! With your year criteria you have eliminated the 240Z from your search(1969-1973) and focussed on the 260Z and 280Z. $5k should get you into a nice 280Z, or a good earlier car-depending on what comes up in your time frame...

There are many viewpoints in the archives here, but my 30 plus years of personal experience is that SUs are clearly the superior product. Will
  14. The white palasic tank is the vacuum tank, and the solonoids are to control the vacuum the tank accumulates-in a stock car, these work the doors in the hvac system controlling where the air flows. If you don't have a/c/defrost/heat the dissconnection of these could well be the issue... Will

If you have that bodykit, the spoiler works, if not-find a straight line on the S30 bodywork...meaning your wallet may be happy, but your eyes probably won't be... On any visible part of your car, saving money on a part that isn't exactly what you want always costs more, and means the car will go down to correct result of the "savings" when you realize you had a great idea with a bad implementation. Stephen, You are on it-in 13 ZXs, this was the window problem on 12! Now it is the first thing I check-2 seconds with a continuity tester(a battery, a piece of wire, and a light bulb-or a buzzer! light or noise-keep looking! Will
  19. After seeing an installation on 280Masters car, I bought the new thicker core version of the radiator recommended by Jags That Run V8 ( http://www.jagsthatrun.com/V8-chapters/V8-DatsunZ-Cooling-System.pdf ) for my turbo project because of using a water cooled turbo-and wanting ice coming out of my AC. I have the older thinner radiator they reccommended(from a base model Camero) and stepped up purely as a precaution to deal with the extra heat. Both are Aluminum with plastic tanks, and I plan on installing the Ford 2 speed electric fan as well-even the shroud fits like it was made for the radiator. Guys, I am talking about picking apart a car relative to what the seller says and what his/her pictures show-not whether or not a car is my cup of tea! I won't berate someone elses choices except when they contradict the words. I think this guy is giving a fair description of the car in question-and while not my cup of tea-it is well done, different and well detailed... It is his car-the only person he has to make happy with it is him-and the next owner! I would like to see this in a show-with the electric version a member is making! Will

No mis conceptions-just a bit of pulling another members legs(both yours and E's) with a silly/serious post. I don't see the sale of this car influencing the sales of stock or lightly modified Zs in any way. This is clearly not a car for someone looking to buy a Datsun/Nissan S30. The big money normally will go for the Historic cars, the early unmolested cars, early proper restorations, then program cars. Granting the power of the sale of this serious customization to affect the prices of anything but outer serious customizations is giving it too much pull. It is kind of like relating the sale of a matchbox 240Z to the sale of a Gold cup 240Z-they are related in the search engines, but I wouldn't expect a serious S30 enthusiast to be as involved in the purchase of either as I would a #2 or better car when looking for a Z. The sale of the car in Corvette Summer has not seriously changed the prices for that year 'vette through time, and it certianly got and continues to get more exposure than this car... I look at picking apart a car as helpful to a buyer-and the next seller-it helps the value of the cars because the quality bar gets raised, granted the profiteer with the newly painted rust bucket will lose-good! To me if a car can't stand on its own to those who are knowledgeable, the seller didn't do enough investigating or to prepare it for sale. If I see a Cubic Zirconia where a diamond should be, should I feel bad if I don't tell one of my friends who is looking at it? If you were going to buy a car and didn't know much about them-would you ask someone who did to look at the car with/for you...I would-I will agree that beating up a car with notable value should not the only side of its valuation, but when you have only a few pictures to go on is it better to point out the obvious issues, and leave out what looks good, but could be well shaped bondo over rust? Most people would rather err on the side of caution than speculate-though the proper road is to point out how nice it looks but what could be under it... A gas tank with a lint coating was challenged recently in another thread, the seller went back investigated, and cleared up the issue- no harm no foul! When selling a car I think most memebers want a good value for both sides of the transaction. I don't see how the sale of a single 4x4 with a Z body kit will affect the value of a real classic Z, and I think evaluating the cars as they go up for sale will serve only to raise the bar on serious well done Classic Zs by spreading the news of what to look for. When we pick apart a pretty car, we are helping the buyer know what he is buying, should we play fireworks display over a lesser car? This club is to share info and further the hobby. Prices will rise as the value of the cars gets known and exposure increases, both are a result of the enthusiast community and its members work. Should a buyer beware of...us? Will

And your making remarks at them(or this remark at you) is any different? Before you get justifiably enraged, would you give your honest opinion of a car if asked to by a stranger? More importantly, would you want to know what a stranger thinks of what you have done with your car? I had a conversation about ladies with the undisputed King of ClassicZcar pinstriping about the motives of young ladies that go out on public with a "T" peeking out the back of their shorts, skorts, leotards, jeans, etc. His contention was this manner of dress was done to illicit a response-my thought was a little more defined-controlling the eyeballs(or perhaps a lower pair of similarly shaped things). Building a car like this is done for exactly the same reason(though a change in detail)-to illicit a response-as is advertising-this is trolling-don't think fish("Johns") don't use this technique in evaluating bait(the "ladies" above)... Ferrari used to Use the tag line "only those who dare truly live"-and they used it in Architectural Digest....to illicit a response. If this car was built solely to sling mud, it would look different-it was made because it could be, and because it would attract attention because it was different. Much like a blinking light has been thoroughly proven to grab and hang on to more attention that a steady lit light, it is differences hold attention. One of the things I love about The S30 and despise about the 350z is fact that the S30 doesn't look too much like any other car-but the Z33 does! a 240Z is familiar, but absolutely different. The car in question seems to have a high degree of workmanship, and a high degree of fit and finish-not your run of the mill Junkyard wars contestant...obviously someone who knew what they were doing was in on that project-an artisan if you will. Art is ment to be a moving experience-as is the viewable "T"-, the movement may be on the part of the art moving to your living room, or the a reversed peristaltic movement-or anywhere in between... In commenting on this type of car we are doing exactly what the builder wanted-though pointing out only the faults as we see them and not the notablely impressive details is honoring the level of artistry and command of the medium that went into the car. I can admire something with out wanting it-I hope the rest of you guys have conviced your significant others you can do the same! Will (just to be diferent-and I am feeling "Artsy because of the new front page !)
