No TomoHawk, that's the frog pipe! Will
  2. Try substituting a quart of Marvel Mystery oil for a quart of oil, and use the Rotella oil from shell(available at Walmart)- this suggestion is my part of a thread from about a year ago. Will
  3. What makes a Z a Z, and what led me to what I will put time, energy (suspensions), and money into are not necessarily the same. Of all those things Z, my bs&t will only go into a 240Z, or the last of the 300Zs, both are beautiful cars to me. What came between and after, were(are) Zs, but not my choice to spend more than a weekend or two with. Just like my wife would say, "you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find the right prince!" Will
  4. Any Dastun or nissan that left the factory badged as a Z that is being or could be cared for by a Z lover. My buddy down the street would say an early camero-what a goober! Will
  5. The plug wires run to a distributor in the factory location. The hoses look to be a distribution for coolant-the thingys mounted on the inner fender appear to be stopcocks, with 5/8"hose going to and 3/8" hos coming out-that is just a guess-I don't see a reason for 5 though. Could they also be cut off switches for audio equipment? With those kinds of changes, just imagine what other goodies will be under the seats, in the tool bins, and taped up under the dash! Will

I have misplaced my list of well thought out polls, this one is more of a salute to the newbies! They know what they look for, we know what they should look for. There should be only one obvious answer, and I wanted to point it out to those new to Zs without making them feel less welcome. Sorry about the mindless escapism! I did put in a references to members... Will PS, when my '72 is through, it will be my car of choice when leaving the house(though not my only choice).
  7. I took my tank to the local radiator shop, they let it sit in an acid bath for four days, and rinsed it out for $40, I am going to move and replace the lines with larger lines, and work the tank filter from a 280ZX onto the pickup. I will use the POR15 Tank sealer ( http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=163 ) and metal ready to take care of the tank. Will

The best check list for evaluating an S30 before buying it.
  9. Scroll down the page about 2/3, you not find cases, but you will see the galss bottles that go with the exerpt I pasted! Will

I'll have to find and try some! Thanks! Will
  12. Check the lock mechanism-if they are the same as your 280, they will be almost as heavy as your original doors, and will bolt right up! Will

I will post some pictures(the last set was too dark-even with Photoshop) as soon as I get back from MSA. Will
  14. I have the fronts-I thought you were looking for the rears-retractors are built in! Will
  15. Tomohawk, They sell larger bottles on the Website, www.caig.com Carl, I am going to post the entirety of the prescription for all to see! Probably add some photos, a bit of rewrapping the harness, and put all of it in the technical articles section to boot! Will
  16. John, Most local companies I have contacted about replacing the webbing in my seatbelts have declined saying that the liability in the case of an accident was too great-the company would become the answer to bodily injury claims if the insurance company found out. Do you want the front or rear from the 2+2? Will
  17. I just got off the phone with a very wonderful woman(if I weren't married...) at Caig Technical support, I explained to her the process I was going to use to restore and improve my wiring harness, and she offered to write me a prescription and instructions for perfect connections in the old wiring harnesses. Of course I took her up on it! She then offered to address questions from our membership on cleaning connections, and even participate in the pertinant threads! I will incorporate her contact info into this thread when I receive her perscription. The whole conversation started because I placed an order that was not filled properly, an easily understandable mistake was made, but that mistake opened up the avenue that haas lead me to a better procedure than I was originally going to undertake, and a fruitful solution to the mistake! Carl, The embarras your country, lie to your friends, and show you have no charactor cleaners, but they obviously don't know what to do with the wet spot. On the rest-YIKES!!! Will
  22. The Second book I bought! Will
  23. That was the first Z book I bought-shortly after I bought my first Z! Will

Serves you right, you Blasphemer-but I din't say you couldn't sit or ride in it(I figure having to see someonelse caressing, treasuring, lusting after, enjoying, and handling your Z because of your transgressions will be far worse(especially if it is your wife, a teenager, a coworker-or better still Steve, leadfooting, breaking the tires loose, and sliding into your driveway)) than no exposure to the Z at all-all you can do is experience someoneelses driving-Yes I know that is evil, but I am not the one who consciously wore a Classic Z t-shirt to work on a ZX! Now that other transgression you have tried to hide have come to light, you must do more pennance. Buy 4 more Classic Z t-shirts, Take care of all of the maintenance that Steves Z needs, and forget the temptation of those false cars known not as Datsun-at least the ZX was related! Thy other marques are merely the devil working to thwart progress on the Z-you must clense your soul and the garage-all other cars(and I use that term loosley) are herby relegated to the yard, with only Datsuns in the covered and protected areas... WIll BTW, I have an 82ZX, and even though I enjoy the T-tops, and actually am very comfortable in the car, I would never wear a Classic Zcar T-shirt to work on it-That shirt is for Events, not maintenance-what were you thinking-Have you been in Carls' garage?

The only real pennance for that serious of a sin is one month with no Z priveledges-you cannot wash, wax, look at, sleep in, vacuum, apply vinyl treatment, air up, dry dust, clean the glass, polish the chrome, look at pictures of(real or virtual), or drive your Z. Every time your Z lust comes to bear, you must shout at the top of your lungs, "I have sinned against Classic Zs. I am lower than the lowest rust on #27. I know better than to wear my club shirt to work on anything but an S30-forgive me my brothers, forgive me" Now, if you are going to the MSA show, as many of us are, We sould be hearing your shouts at every step if you are there-meaning you don't need a nametag(or a shirt) for us to know who you are! Aint I a stinker! Will
