I was curious... has anyone heard of a Padel Shift... like on the new Ferrari's and Lambo's??? Its basically an Manual transmission, but with no clutch pedal... so it's basically an Automatic, but it doesn't automatically shift for you, all you have to do is basically shift the car by yourself w/o a clutch. They do this because it gains an advantage in faster shifts which equalls faster acceleration and better times Most newer automatic cars have this feature sorta... but you can also put it in drive and it automatically shifts for you.... which padel shifts can't do. So.. I was wondering... either... Is it safe to "padel shift" my automatic transmission? I have read little info, and that what I may have to do is get an auxilary transmission cooler, since running the car at High RPM's on an automatic.. lets say sliding the shifter to (1) produces alot of pressure in the transmission. How can I do this safely or can I simply not do it? and if that won't work... is there any way that someone or a shop could somehow fabricate an padel shift transmission to my L28?? hmmmmm.... if not... (that's 3 now) maybe i'll go through the trouble putting in an 5-speed.

but my engine is bigger.... L28 and I have an automatic transmission so i dunno.. i thought the average is about 22 city?

Well.. after 1 week of owning my first 280Z... i am getting only 17MPG..in the city... so I started looking around for better MPG... Currently I was running 91 octane... will any of these help increase my MPG? New Spark Plugs.... Check Tire Pressure... Get a new air filter... or make custom Cool Cir Intake... Injection Cleaner hmm.. can't think of anything else... will these work???

Louvers aren't bad... the give the car that classic look, and protect our interior from the sun, and reduces heat. whats wrong with em... just ugly?

WTF... no he drives an 280Z and it turns into an SALEEN S7... big differences there.... Saleen S7's are $391,000 cars which hit 0-60 MPH in 3.3 seconds a tenth of a second faster than the $1,000,000 McLaren F1, and man they look soo different.

The size is 18"x9" and the tread pattern is 114, 3x5. Offset +30. i'm trying to get some from an UK GTR forum right now... having some luck... but I got from the SR20DE forums that is this true?

Anyone know where I can get them, or knwo about the Lug Nut pattern? I would love to see this wheels on my 280Z

Well for one... SEARCH is very helpful especially on Forums.... you can also try www.zcar.com and http://hybridz.org But don't even bother with an turbo swap into an 76 L28 engine.. got out and get an L28ET from an 280ZXT, only because the engine was buitl to handle a turbo with different compression, bigger injectors, and all of your piping for the turbo and intercooler is right there. Find an old used L28ET engine.. and put it in your car, swap the turbo with a bigger newer one, and get an bigger, more efficient intercooler. You will run much much power and your engine will be able to handle it unlike the '76 L28 with an turbo hooked on.

if it's aftermarket.... look in your engine bay much like 240ZX was saying and simply look towards the exhuast manifold and see if you see a bunch of long tubes which connect to the exhuast. If its kinda bundled in sort of a small piece with 6 tubes running to teh engine, its stock otherwise aftermarket headers will usually be brighter and more attractive, since they are newer, and are longer with different designs. Tell us what you found

So here's what I figured... K&N Cone Filter.... Stainless Steel 90' degree mendral bend pipe measuring in 3" diameter and about 8" total in length. Does that sound like a good combination? I just want my car to breath better... and hopefully get better MPG....

Well here's what I am trying to put in.... may have to ditch the box.. obviously.... but anyone think they will fit? Its those damn hydrolic rear hatch things that move it up and down which get that in the way.... Me and my dad are going to try to build a box this weekend... just to squeeze em in. and what do you know.. mines a Sentra too

Well.... I don't want to sound like a new kid or anything... or think that CAI will boost up alot of horsepower... But I would like my engine to run a bit stronger, better MPG and to spruce up my engine bay, and let my engine breath to it's maximum. Do any companies manufacture cool ari intake tubing and filters for L28 EFI engines? I really do not like POP chargers too much, but what are my options fro my car to "inhale" more air and much less "constricted"

Well, finally I got my 280Z and I started moving all my stuff from my Sentra to the Z. However , I have a cuustom box made from MTX with 3 10inch subwoofers which I have been trying to squeeze in. SImply, not possible.... so does anyone have any good pics about their trunk/hatch setup for subwoofer or speaker setups? I have seen a few nice setups from 240SX's... 300ZX's.... even Supra's.... but I just need a nice idea for a box I will end up building which will look good in the 280Z SO... anyone with pics, ideas, or drawings.... please post em here

ok so the wattage for an 280Z.. for the cluster... are 35w bulbs.. what type of power can I put into this capacity with LED bulbs? but back to my main question.. anyone know what size I can put in?

well.. i just decided to have a professional do it... since they know what they are doing So far.... $120 for the install.. cutting, mounting adjustments, re-wiring the speakers... (since they SAY it won't work) and all for an install of the headunit... and here's the ctach, its teh cheapest of 14 stores!

just to let you guys know... LED's dont always blink! They can stay a steady glow.. or blink... maybe I mis-read waht you guys are saying.. but i am hoently shocked you guys have never heard of this!
