  1. I wish there was a way to find where in the harness the short is. Like some sort of heat sensing device.
  2. I’m using all the stock wires on my haltech. But I have 2 open relay/ fuse spots. So it would work fine, I could run the 12v positive. Honestly I was just trying to be lazy.
  3. True. The stock coil + must have no fuse? I honestly don’t know if the wire in using is the coil + or the ignition keyed +. I will have to look for that.
  4. I have coil on plug. I have the coils positive looping through the back of my stock tach (works perfectly). the iac uses less then 1 amp. So the wiring is plenty big. It just needs a 12v positive. Then the ecu pulses a ground to it. I can keep in wrapping the tape till I hopefully find the short. Then replace that wiring. So far all the wire looks great. I will also look at behind the dash. Maybe the short is on that side.
  5. So the green and white should be a ground? Then the other black and white should be another keyed 12v? Do either share any wire? I honestly only need a single 12v for my ITB iac. That’s isn’t shorted. So I could abandon the shorted one.
  6. I have never taken the dash out. I will have to try and find the engine wiring harnesses connector.
  7. Both the other green and white and other black and white are not shorted.
  8. Steve you rock! The coil positive has a full short in it. Haven’t found it yet.
  9. I’m trying to track down a short in my 12v positive from my tach to my coil. I seem to have two black and white wires and a green a white in my coil bundle. Any ideas? The 2nd b/w and green/white doesn’t show up on any wiring diagrams. I have a 1/71 build.
  10. Well I am a liar. My wiring was wrong. Iac wasn’t even working. But it lets by 20% air or so with 0 volts. So this is cold start with 20% air going by. On my haltech You can set voltage at a percentage of 0-12v. So roughly set the lowest voltage it can go to 33%. Should work, but to be determined. I need to run a new DPO wire
  11. I will have to fix that little pinch. I like the stock style hoses. Adds some style to the hoses.
  12. Sounding good! FullSizeRender.MOV
  13. Finally getting somewhere with iac and cold starts. IMG_0256.MOV
  14. Still finalizing it all. Currently won't start, so I am trying to figure that out. The iac is just a bosch.
  15. Pretty darn cool.
  16. ITB with IAC take 3. My last bmw IAC wouldn’t play nice with my haltech (basically it’s the opposite of how haltech controls it). This one let’s by a tiny bit of air at full closed. I plan to see if I can set the butterfly’s and it to play nicely and not idle too high when the engine is warmed up. Fingers crossed.
  17. Whatever AF mixture I want. 35lbs can go up to like 500+ hp. Which I will never achieve.
  18. I ended up getting new injectors. These are 35lb and they have a traditional 20 degree cone spray pattern. Prior I have a v pattern designed for DOHC motors. Squirting at two valves. Hopefully the work a little better. They are slightly longer. But I got them to work.
  19. Well Tons if fiddling and swear words. I now have 100% throttle engagement from the gas pedal. Turns out prior I only had like 70%. I normally work from the engine bay and I could always get 100% from there. Whoops FullSizeRender.MOV
  20. I am using a mid 80s bmw iac valve. I was having a hard time finding a hose that looked good and would hold the vac without collapsing. Then it dawned on me, maybe one meant for the same bmw. Fits awesome and is exactly the right size for my balance bar. Stoked
  21. I bought the WB2. They updated the plugs and u shouldn’t have to de-pin it to get the plugs through the body. Which will be nice.
  22. Yes Can Bus is what I meant.
  23. My friend swapped my clutch and fixed some bugs. But putting my center console back in, he pinched a wire on the o2 sensor. Shorted and burnt my dual o2 can sensor up.
  24. One of my issues so far with running is my injectors that fit nicely into the throttles are a V stream. So I believe they are just spraying on the walls. I am going to switch out to DeatschWerks 18U-00-0035-6. Single cone spray. They use the same connector. Hopefully I can get the correct orings to deal well. Tiogatold me to do this in the start. I should have listened.

With the Yen being so low, buying from Japan is awesome! Fujitsubo or similar can be had at a discount.
