Got all the burnt coating off and the wire looks in good shape. Makes me believe that it was from engine source heat. I did cut out out and replace any questionable wire. I did notice one connector that looked very hot and I believe it was a relay of something todo with retarding the ignition In the second pic I pointed out the box. I bought a vinyl kit and the tunnel piece does not seem fit well. I am not sure if I missing something or maybe it's built wrong. But the slot for console fastening is in the wrong location. I could adjust but the slot would appear that it would show. Or does the console cover it regardless? Are there some post on this site with the order that the pieces go in?
