May 1970 with 21,000 mi fairly glossy
  3. It is an interesting part. Its back edge is the front face of the pinch weld at the bottom of the wind shield. The back corners fold in where ~ 4 pieces of metal come together at the bottom of the A pillar. There is also weld bead, sealant and solder at those junctions. The front corners also have bead welds where the inspect hatch hinge mounts are attached. To clean up the part I hack out of the donor car involved some grinding and a lot of spot weld drilling. Removing the panel from Blue will be fun. I will get to it when I have the car gutted and stripped down.
  4. Yes it is strange. The cowl on top is fine.... must have been a bad batch of steel in that part. The air that blows off the ocean has latent salt.
  5. Drilled out spot welds in spare part #1 below. Now to clean it up and prepare for insertion in blue. Body beating here I come! Rust Termites got Blue's under cowl.
  6. I wish the Z came with a cross flow head from the start. I guess if Mercedes had made this head architecture in the 40's then we would have it now.
  7. changing world and more people with lots of extra cash
  8. @kats brought his Z over to NA:) I see a lot of Europeans (mostly Germans and Swiss) who bring their cool campers here and travel throughout the continent. Usually unimogs but I saw a very cool Toyota this Summer!
  9. LOL..... I'm sorry he said Toronto.
  10. Yes >100k. Spring/Summer would be time to sell.

I'd like to get the spoiler
  12. Punny! Very Punny!
  13. All the traits of a NYC business man. The people got who they voted for. We got this for a leader:
  14. Send a pipe over here... we want and need it....good luck getting through Quebec. btw the Trans-mountain Pipeline was only approved because of the work "Trans".
  15. We simply need to get our oil and products locally. Also globalization (moving manufacturing, pollution and slavery offshore) is not in our interests morally or from a self sufficiency point of view. If the Middle East turns off the oil pipes, we would collapse (but not as fast as in the past) If China stopped shipping products we would also collapse. So these regions can destroy us without firing a gun..... a very risky position. We need to de-risk and be self-sufficient. If we stop depending on these countries, they will wither away. Trump needs to step up trade war with China to get the ball rolling.

LOL... Canada has become a foolish country. The politically correct, the poorly educated masses and our great socialism being exploited by the entitled masses are taking their toll. We are lucky to have so many resources otherwise we would have imploded long ago.
  17. The front of the rocker and the bottom of the fender in front of it have a slight step on the lower edges. I think this is the design but if you decide to go at the fender, you may wish to take a look at this too.
  18. You guys are spoiled.... you gotta pull the hose and lift that whole darn lid to set DCOE floats. Once set, they are fine but no fun when commissioning...... but if you don't filter the carb vent (as in the photo above), you will be cleaning sludge and silt from the top and bottom of the carb internals sooner than you think ?
  19. It can be done and a DCOE too (as @SteveJ pointed out): +
  20. They simply have the fittings facing out toward the driver-side fender. It is so compact that the straight banjo fittings for the short stubby fuel hoses are hard to see (at end of arrows):
  21. Is the differential rear spray carboned-up from heat or just oil mist from the breather... 24hrs of oil from all cars doing this could make for a slick track. I would assume they had a diff oil cooler and a fairly closed system with breather + catch can. Perhaps it or the differential failed and they are working on it in one photo?
  22. Thanks... that routing is very common in drag and circle track racing but I have not noticed it in road racing. Some weight saving and heat-rerouting advantages.
