  1. I did in fact get a compressor and have been having a bit of fun with it, I bought a cheap accessories kit which included a blow gun, which i filled with turps and shot it through all the lines, followed by compressed air to dry it out. Fuel lines worked a treat, one concern was the brake lines as the turps pretty much entirely shot out the shorter drivers side arm after the divider, almost nothing coming out of the longer passenger side arm. Is this normal or do i have a problem? The second problem I encountered was fitting the lines back to the car. It seems my great frame rail extensions were not completely well thought out as the obstruct the steel lines now as pictured. I fitted the lines along the length of the car anyhow, but they hag a bit low near the obstruction and I couldnt fit the 2 brackets in that area. Opinions?
  2. Ok, been exploring all the ways of cleaning the insides of the lines, and am now wondering if anyone has just had a brake shop bend up new lines instead? If in Australia, cost?

When I pulled the OEM carpets out of my 260Z i wasnt very impressed with the multi peice "design" which sounds like what the Tru-Fit kit is copying? I would much prefer a moulded one peice.

I dont know who would need a mount that serious. OEM should do fine

Please price the OEM mounts at allzparts.com.au and your Nissan Dealer and post your findings. I have just ordered new rear control arm inner bushes from allzparts at $32EA compared to Nissan which was ~$10 more EA

i have ordered my rear bushes through them via email over the last couple of days. $10 less than nissan each. But as always, if you are in a rush phone is the best way.
  8. No problems, at the conclusion of every step in this car i kick myself with "Now i know I should have done it that way". I will have to look at it on the weekend, I would like to buy a compressor but i dont hink i will use it often enough. They are a bit bulky to bring down to the local service station to use the tyre pump too...

sorry, for posting in two threads, but what size automoter gauges are you guys using?
  10. Anyone know what size autometer gauge will fit the triple gauge holes? 2" ?
  11. The benefit of hindsight and all that. :lick:
  12. solvent over my nice new paint...hmmm I have always needed an excuse to buy a compressor, but i dont know if this is it. thanks guys
  13. What is considered the best way do do this? I would think high pressure fluid down the lines, but I hardly want to shoot water downthere.
  14. This is the 3.9 LSD I am looking at interstate, how much can we tell from photos?
  15. One more quick observation that I never noticed before, are all rear Right and Left control arms the same part, just one upside down? I never picked up on this before but its definately the case on mine. There is a dish where the pin for the sway bar mounts, so on the right and left the dish causes one side to be higher than the other, due to one being "upsidedown", does this cause the sway bar to sit on an angle? i cant remember when removing it.
  16. Sorry, I meant LSD
  17. Sorry guys, could I ask again what is a reasonable price for a 3.9? There isnt enough of a supply to gauge an average price.
  18. The saw horses look a lot more professional than the old curtain rail i used to hang mine on for painting
  19. I took the bushes to a suspension place for advice and they recommended replacement, but obviously they would have a vested interest and they are calling me tomorrow with a quote on full nolathane bushes. I went to Nissan as well for a quote and for all 8 rear control arm bushes we are looking at $273.00AUD
  20. Ok, spent the best part of Sunday degreasing, scouring, wire brushing and painting my solid brake/fuel lines and all the associated metal brackets, I think this is now bordering on eccentric as I knew full well the would be fine in their oxidised slightly rusted form, but I just couldn't bare to put any sign of rust onto my nice clean car.

www.toperformance.com.au will be able to set you straight with some koni's, they are a koni distibutor and also have a 240z targa race car

You will just need a custom sump and rb25 or rb20 gearbox to make the motor rwd.
  23. I guess the next question is, what is a reasonable "street" price for a decent ratio LSD, say a 3.9.
  24. Alternatives? Yes, datrats think they can source one but at the higher end of your price scale. I am speaking with a friend of mine who is dabbling in importing to see what i can find.
  25. Interesting. These are what I am looking at for hopefully under $50 a pair, this is a big saving over the nissan parts which makes them worth considering but at the same time I dont want to ruin all my hard work by skimping out on $100 now. :paranoid:
