can no one help me? my gas tank is leaking at the sending unit. can i reseal it some how? does anyone know how to get it off? go i need a special tool? will a automotive slicone work? any other ideas would be nice.

on my louvers ther are little rubber stoppers to stop the louver from hitting the window. i am missing one does any one know where i might find one?

well i got my first kill. I have been getting crap for the last two months from my moms boyfriend. He bought a 65 ford fairlane in the winter. It has a 289 and its a automatic. He got the rust fixed and painted and just put on a new carb last night. With a little adjustments and the timing set, it actually sounded pretty good. now since i told him that i was going to by a datsun, he would not stop bugging me. he wanted to race because he was sure that he was faster. i new i would win but he would not believe me. i tried to tell him that my new car would be lighter, so there for would win. he scoffed, and said that he had a v8, and that was all he needed. so we got home from work and we were working on our cars. my mom came home and wanted to go for a spin. i thought it would be a perfect time to race. we went out to a secluded street nearby and made sure that there was no traffic. he pulls beside me....i stick my three fingers in the air...and bring them down one at a time ....he punches it and i pop the clutch. he actually got a better start than me and was a half a car ahead of me when the car stopped sliding sideways and the wheels caught some traction. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzoooooommmm. i lost him very quickly, by the end of the street he was way back. it was very sweet. i have the faster car and a case of beer for winning. tonight i drink to the datsun 240z.

well as i was spraying liquid wrench i noticed that the bolts holding the door on were loose. i tightend them up and that made the door feel better. But it still sounds like its dying. its not a squeek, and not a grind but somewhere in between. its so embarassing. Here look inside my new car! @#$%^&* i have to put on ear plugs so i wont damage my hearing. but then i cant listen to the radio that i just put in. aaaggghhh!

i am going out to try the l.w. canadian tire did not have any boe shield but thanks for all the help. if i had enough liquid wrench i would let the door soak in it!

thanks guys for all your help. i am going to go and get me some boe sheild. since i am up in canada though, i will probably half to settle for wd40. i just got my new blanc keys today, and i will get those cut at the same time. i love it when a plan comes together.

i am glad someone finaly knows what i am talking about. when it goes over the halfway peninsula, it makes awful clunk and it is way worse on the last peninsula. you can feel its not right too. it is pushing against the wheel. the wheel does not turn. is it supposed to? the door feels okay until you get to the notches. i dont have another datsun to compare to. but i dont think its right. the door lines up, and latches properly. what do you think?

i dont think it is the hinges. it is the thing in the middle that make s the door stay a certain positions as it opens and closes.

Anyone know who sells a new power antenna? Can they be fixed?

i tried to put grease on but it still felt the same. since i cant explain it, maybe you could tell me who would have new door hinge kits?

i did a search but could not find anything. it is hard to explain. When i open the doors it just feels terrible. it is on a 71. i think it comes from the peice that cotrols the door angle stops. you know when you open the door and you can feel it go thru a couple of notches. everything works but feels bad you know? i am not explaining it right but maybe someone knows what i am talking about. is there something i can replace, or is that the way it is? tks

I was looking at the concole picture of a 71. it had another handle beside the choke lever. What does that do? i have the slot but no lever. is there a way to change the angle on my seat in my 71? i can mive it back and forth but not the other way.
