Nissan concept
It'll need to be toned down quite a bit because right now it's just plain ugly. http://www.nissannews.com/multimedia/concept/nissan_concept.shtml

Back in the saddle again.
Your rack bushings sound like they're worn. They're a fairly hard rubber to begin with. I replaced mine with urethane bushings six years ago and they're still solid.

70's pinstripes and other cool details...
The chrome wheel arches aren't bad as long as they don't reach the proportions of some that I've seen on Hondas, Sentras, etc. I don't have them on my Z but I do on my 810 although I think they're stainless rather than chrome.

14" tires
My Yoko's stick. Especially when they are warm. It's a shame that they don't make the A-509's anymore. The AVS series just aren't the same.

What the heck is this? *pic included*
See post #18. The actual question that this thread is based on is answered in post #21.

14" tires
14s are getting harder to find. I have 20560 Dunlop D60A2's on my 810 and I'm looking to replace them soon. I have called around and everyone I called says that they would have to order them. I have 22560 Yokohama A-509's on my Z. They're not even made anymore. I won't need to replace those for a while but when I do, it'll be tough to find an equivalent replacement.

fairladyZ badges
Troy (T.I.R.) has them. $69.95 ea. New. I rather buy new ones that paying through the nose for used ones on eBay. Hope I don't get anyone's dander up by mentioning him but he's always been cool with me.

For you Seattle Seahawk fans...........
Notice how the seller missed the sarcasm in the second question? Same author for both questions. Yes, he's a real Z guy allright! If any decal shop can make reproductions of the decals, then what makes this car so special? I'm not going the sit here and run the car down but it's owner must have fallen hard and landed on his head sometime during his life! Maybe more than once.

fairladyZ badges
From what I have read and seen, it was Mr. K himself that didn't think names like Fairlady, Sunny, Violet, Bluebird, etc. would work in the U.S. where we had names like Mustang, Bronco, Charger, Magnum, etc. Kind of a macho thing, I guess.

Your First car.
I too have aready mentioned what my frist car was earlier in this thread but my first NEW car was a 1970 240Z, HLS3000488. My second was a 72 240Z, don't recall the VIN. The dealer I purchased the first one from traded me straight accross for the 72. I had put 19000 miles on the 70. Obviously, they knew something, even back then.

Startiung Engine While in Storage
How cold does it get there? It gets below 50 here and I still start and drive my 78. It's been as cold as the low 40s in my garage and it hasn't caused any problems. Somehow, in Ohio however, I think you might be talking about a little colder than that.

This looks like a pretty good deal
If it runs, it's probably already sold. I just called, no answer. Simi Valley is just a freeway trip from here.

I just find it interesting that you answer what you percieve to be personal attacks or unsolicited opinions with personal attacks and unsolicited opinions. Until you came in with your rant, no one, at least not I, knew who you were. So how can that be personal? My statement was a generalization. My opinion, that's all. You have your reasons for wanting those key blanks at that price and I have my reasons why I wouldn't. Can't we all just get along?

anyone anyone know the thread size
I might do a little research for you if no one answers. Heck, I'll do it anyway, I'd like to know the answer. I have an old drain plug and I work at a hardware store that has a thread size check board. I won't be back there until Tuesday however, four day weekend you know.

Yes I know I don't have a Z
The pictures are on the site in his signature. Pretty sweet 'ute' I might add.

Z Restoration Web Page
But the actual 'BPE' was a special 1978 edition only available in small numbers and yours would be collectible if is indeed one of them.

Z Restoration Web Page
If you car is an original BPE (Black Pearl Edition) why would you want to paint it another color?

I agree with Unkle. I found an original dealer blank for my 79 810 about a year ago. The 810 also used a series 5 key though by then the top had been changed from the earlier style. He had one and it was just thrown in a box of old key blanks from different auto manufacturers. He sold it to me for $1.50! They can be found though it isn't easy but I can see no reason to pay such an outlandish price as the eBay auction. It's just a key, for Christ's sake! If your're worried about originality at the car show, keep your keys in you pocket.

New Book about Datsun / Nissan History
I had mentioned this book in another thread but no one responded to the post. It can also be downloaded in PDF for $4.41 but I ordered a hard copy.

How do I remove pistons from the caliper?
I have one of those, or one similar anyway. But those are for rear calipers as LanceM said. For the fronts I just use a blow gun with a rubber tip, apply pressure into the hole where the brake line was removed and the bleed screw closed, and blast it into a rubber pad that I cut just for that purpose.

Warning To All About Paypal!!!
Or you could just forward any suspicious email to spoof@paypal.com and they will let you know if it is legit. I've also seen suspicious emails pretending to be from ebay. Same deal, forward them to spoof@ebay.com.

The $3500 GT
Does anyone know anything about this book? I'd never heard of it until someone posted about it on IZCC. Alan T., are you out there? http://www.lulu.com/content/174439
