  1. Is that 26500 CAD? If so that's only about 22500 USD.

Don't get the ZX driveshaft or any of the ancillary parts for the swap from the ZX. Those things, like the fluid lines, pedals, etc. have to come from a 280Z not a ZX. Get the trans along with the slave and fork, etc., though you might want to buy a new slave prior to installing everything. Not sure if the ZX master is the same as a Z master.

I hope she's doing well. I met she and her husband at one of the MSA shows a few years back and I recall talking music and cars for a while with Scott and Vicky. They seemed like such genuine and down to earth people and not having seen her on this site for quite a while, I just hope she's okay.
  4. Does anybody here use the Nissan Fast program? It allows you to find part numbers and illustrations for all Datsun/Nissan vehicles from 1964-2005. It can be setup with any combination of the USDM, Euro, and Japan Home Market databases. It's kind of work intensive to set it up but once that's done it fairly easy to use. It's on the Xenon site if anyone wants to try it. http://www.xenons30.com/reference.html

I've got those. I have a lot of tools from Harbor Freight. Tools like that from them are fine. You just have to be careful when buy any type of heavy duty use or precision type tools from them because, quite frankly, the do sell a lot of stuff that is outright junk. (IMO)

You don't need to change the driveshaft or differential.

I think you meant to say:
  8. I did get lucky. There were actually two ZXT's in the junkyard on the same day about 2 years ago when I bought my oil pumps. I've seen a few others since then.

The trans will work and the driveshaft is the same. The AT brake pedal won't work, you'll need the entire pedal assembly but not the one from the ZX. It has to be from a 280Z or at least an S30. The ECU won't need to be changed. Read up more about what is needed as you've missed a few items. Clutch slave and master cylinder, the fluid lines, pilot bushing, correct speedo pinion, etc. If I try to list it I'm sure I'll also leave something out. The thread (or threads) is/are here somewhere.

One little annoyance for me on eBay is sellers that wait until I leave feedback before they will leave feedback. What's up with that? I pay as soon as I win an item so at that point I have fulfilled my obligation to them.

I just looked at Alan T. post in another thread about Showa dates. I got the formula right but did the math wrong. Is that actually a date on thos hubcaps? Would they have been made that early? Mike B. or anyone who would know?

Okay, bad math:stupid: but did I get the formula right? So, 10/67?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Doesn't 1042 mean the 10th month and the 42nd year after the year of the Emperor (1925) which would be 1969. So, October 1969.
  14. I'll add that my 78 280Z has the upper one and my 79 810 has the lower one. They're both cars purchased from the original owner with low mileage and I have no reason to believe they're not original.
  15. Your catalog might be newer...mine is from 1997:embarrass: I've got turbo oil pumps in my Z and my 810...directly from the junkyard.
  16. IIRC, it was from some type of Chrysler product. Rather large, sort of oval shaped like the knob in my wife's HHR. Seemed to look out of place...IMO.
  17. If you could figure out what to to about the button........
  18. Nissan comp numbers don't necessarily show in a regular Nissan database. Like I said, there is no Nissan comp EFI fuel pump. They one they show is for carbed cars. You could use the L28ET oil pump-15010-V0300. As far as the sway bars:
  19. That may say "Nissan 240Z" shift knob in the ad but it's looks kind of universal (and rice-ish) to me. Personally, I'd steer clear.

There should be a VIN plate on the dash. In front of the speedometer about 2" from the windshield right behind the windshield wiper pivot. The car is Japanese:). Seriously, I'm not sure how to tell a U.S. market model from a Canadian model but I'm sure someone here does.

I mailed you package on Monday 11/3. Don't know how long it takes for an item to get from Southern California the Canada. Let me know when it arrives.
  22. I was going to comment on that point also as I've read that somewhere before but I've never seen an S30 halfshaft that vaired in length from any other S30 halfshaft.
  23. The high volume oil pump is 15010-S8000 and the competition oil pump is 15010-A1100. As far as I know, Nissan has never made a competition or high volume fuel pump for the EFI engines. They raced them with carbs and the high volume fuel pump they list is for carbed cars. The stock EFI fuel pump will put out more than enough pressure. Remember, it's regulated. If you want or need higher fuel pressure you need a rising rate fuel pressure regulator which is available through many places including MSA. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PFFC14/11-3073
  24. I'm a homeowner, family man, retiree, and a few other things before 'gearhead' shows up on the list of 'hats' I wear. That's as deep as I'm going into this one. No one's engaging it this because this really isn't the place for it.
