I am no longer posting progress pictures... too much awesomeness in this thread to compete! I am very impressed with the quality of this build.

Did some more welding tonight. Well, my son in law did at least. I worked on cleaning up the nacelle pieces from a donor car. Still need the centre splitter. The sand blaster is a huge help.

Yup! One of the tests was providing me another grandson on October 7th! He's a good father and fellow car enthusiast. He bought an old Skyline GTR for his first car (which he promptly wrote off).... now he drives a minivan..... He is also a professional welder. That helps too...

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the thread. My son in law and I are excited to get back into the shop. I picked up a smaller 110v welder because the big MILLER 220v was blasting thru the metal on the lowest settings. Working much better now. More posts and pics to come! Hoping to get at least a couple nights a week on it now.

Well that was a good seven hours of work today! Got some more welding done on the drivers floor pan. Found a few areas that needed new metal up along the firewall too. Decided to weld in the seat mounts and strengthen the floor a bit before flipping it over and welding up the floor pan support rail. I will be adding the Big Dog frame cap too so it will be VERY solid!

Levelled the car. Then levelled the seat across the back support arms. Looks good enough for me and totally shimmable later if it needs it.

Fighting with getting the seat mounts in just right. Floor pan is not exactly the same as factory so the fitting is a bit off.

Cleaned off the flash rust from the passenger floor pan prior to installation later.

Charlie at Zedd Findings is a stand up guy! His order of your work is a huge nod of approval!
  18. Zer gut! (spent 7 weeks in Wolfhagen outside Kassell in Essen with the Canadian Military in 2008, never did get the chance to tour Stuttgart though...) Keep posting! loving the progress...

This car and your skills deserve an entire episode or two on a Jay Leno Special.... You make me envious and sad at the same time. I am doing similar repairs but the new bar you have raised leaves me severely intimidated...!

My 280 has the convenient shock mounts for mounting points... It is definitely top heavy but manageable.
  21. Ima just gonna sit back and wait for the group buy....
