Tire selection help please
Those are really big tires that are on the car now, I think the wheels have a minus offset but I am not 100% sure on that. What size tires are on the wheels now? I wouldn't go any bigger than what you have. Right now I have a set of Kumho's touring tires on my car and I like them. They are comfortable, have good performance in the rain, but I have not fully tested them in the dry to tell you if they are good performers. Ben

OT: BMW M meet in the California Bay Area-2005
Hello everyone. I try not to clutter the forum with non-Z related material, but if anyone is interested in BMW's here are some pics. This was a meet put together by a few members of the BMW M5 (E39) forum and my girlfriend insisted that I go as she is a M enthusiast and she could not make it due to finals. I was happy to go and be the photographer for her as I have a love for way too many cars. Just to name a few of the very special cars here amoung all special cars were a Hartge supercharged Z8, a racing inspired M3 (E30- first generation M3), the only factory yellow M5 in the USA (courtesy of BMW individual), and a slough of beautiful cars. If anyone is a die hard fan of these cars, I took 74 pictures and I can send you a CD. Carl (bambikiller240) was there on hand to see the only 260z in the gathering (mine). It was a lot of fun. I hope this is not too off topic. Enjoy, Ben p.s. The first generation M3's sounded mean. I want my car to have a bark!! Soon!!

Tire selection help please
There is the performace Yokohama tire (not sure of the name) that has steel reinforced side walls and it comes in 205 by 60. I have heard that they are great tires and they don't cost a whole lot either. What is the offset of your wheels?

240Z in movies
Hi everyone, Gavin mentioned that there was a Z in "Herbie goes to Monte Carlo" and last night I was watching the movie as I have not seen it in years. The Herbie movies were my favorite movies to watch when I was about 5-10yrs old. I was so excited when I saw the Z. I put the movie on pause and here is a picture of it. Besides the Z, there were some pretty serious race cars in that movie. It was not just botched together. A few of the cars are listed here: 2- Lancia Stratos's. The red one had the original wheels and the dark blue one had the works rally wheels. Porsche 911 RSR Ford Pantera Ferrari 365gtb Ferrari 365 Daytona ...and many more that I missed. Does anyone have information on the Z from this movie? Was it a famous race car in the 70's? Ben

Looking for a RHS 240Z mirror?
you can use the stock drivers mirror and turn the mirror part around. I have not done this, but I have seen it done and it looks like it should have come that way. -Ben

Thanks David for the slide show. It was great. I was surprized to see my car in there multiple times. Thank you for that. It was a great convention. -Ben

Need more wheel choices
There are many wheel options for these cars that do not require spacers or adapters. Have you looked into revolution wheels? They are a dished 5-spoke wheel. I am not sure how hard it would be to find a set of these, but I do know that they are still made in England. MSA sells them, but I don't think they are the ones exactly like these on the links. good luck with finding a nice set of wheels. -Ben http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1180 http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1067

240Z Deck Lid Spoiler
I would recommend the one piece version as I feel that it looks better and it is more traditional. Also, the one piece version was a factory option. The three piece spoiler that I am thinking of was not. I am pretty sure that the spoilers on Fairlady Z's and export Z's came either painted body color or gunmetal grey (matching the tail light panel). I am looking for one of these spoiler's for my car and I am going to paint it gunmetal grey with a gloss coat as I believe that is as close to original as I can come. Good luck with your ZG coversion and keep us posted on your progress. -Ben

Mens driver test question
That's not fair Mike. This is a trick question. If I was with my gf, I would have to pass. If I was by myself I would wait a while, and then pass. Thanks for the laugh. -Ben

My Z with some nice cars
No this is in the same town that the Blackhawk Datsun/Nissan show was held at- Danville. This was after the show.

Beautiful 240z
They are 16". I think they look too big as well. I think 14's look best, but the 15's still look good. 16" panasports were very popular at this show.

Ron Carter's BRE Z
Ron said I was going to get a ride, but he seemed busy all day so I didn't push. I will get a ride some time. I am in no rush. It sounds so good though. It is the loudest Z I have ever heard. it sounds great. I would love see and hear it on a track. -Ben

This is the Roadster that was in the July 2005 Sport Compact Car magazine. It was a very nice car BTW. The swap was super clean.

My Z with some nice cars
My Dad and I went for lunch and when we came out these cars were parked next to my 260z. What a great shot. 2 Ferrari 360 Spiders, an Acura NSX, and an S30. What could be more beautiful??? Me not in the picture I guess. I had to mess up everyones wallpaper. Damn, and I don't have one minus the monkey.

1954 Corevette
Okay, it's not Z related. It was parked right outside the Z corral and it was with a equally beautiful 61' Corvette.

Rally clock in 74' Fairlady Z
I would have thought that this car would have been equiped with a rally "calender" clock as it was a 74'. The clock was working and there was no oscillating box to be seen in the glove box.
