Thanks. I pulled both drums and shoes were fine. Just cleaned the brakes with brake cleaner and 100 grit sand paper. The right drum was stucked so i had to hammer it and cleaned the center part. Shoes are still fine!! thanks

Do you really need to upgrade to rear brake discs and pads in place of the drum brakes? I use my car only on satursdays and sundays.
  12. 20mm down from where? I guess the best method should be the plastic tube connected to the drain plugs with the engine at idle.
  13. This is really time consuming. Isnt the sight glass after setting it to .55 ok?
  14. Any brake drum kit you would recommend? Or should i only order the shoes?
  15. Its not a high pitch squealing. Its different maybe metal on metal. I only use this car on sundays as i hate the traffic in Panama.
  16. I have been noticing there is a loud noise produced whenever i step on the brakes once i crank the engine and start driving out from the garage. The noise comes from the rear brakes. How do i get rid of this noise? Will i need to open the drum brakes and sand any parts?

  19. Do i need to cover the valves with some kind of plastic wrapping once i remove the cover? I wouldnt like any insects such as roaches, worms, or mouse inside the valves while i take days to polish the cover.
  20. Can you clean and polish the camshaft cover without removing it from the engine? If so how would you accomplish this task?
  21. So i will need to buy a torque wrench and follow your measurements?
  22. I have already done the compression test and there is now issue whatsoever. When i bought this car the engine was assembled by california datsun.
  23. Just pulled out all 6 plugs havent got into any heavy traffic. Plugs 4 and 3 came out a little bit more black. I will clean them up with brass wire brush and try again. The order of the pics is 6 5 4 3 2 1 left to right.
  24. Question: once i remove, clean and polish the valve cover on my 240z will i need a new valve cover gasket and how tight should i fasten the bolts to avoid the heat drawn by the engine destroying the border of the cork gasket. I dont see this describe in the haynes manual. Should i also cover the engine camshaft and valves with plastic wrapping paper to avoid any insects or dirt getting inside while i am polishing?
