  1. I guess there could be different reasons for the problem. But i'd recommend anyone to look @ the carbs first. I also tried everything else, but it came back to beeing the carbs.
  2. VERY clean work. That sheet metal work is quality work!
  3. Would love to see that thing getting saved. Is the engine number matching ?
  4. I used to have a sales chick from Google visit my company last year. She kept promising me golden mountains in the search results, but in the end I asked what price am I looking at, and those where 2 to 3 k figures a year !. She didn't knew I did programming in the past, and knew all about website ranking , and my website is allready found really good in Google many times as the top result Anyhow it was fun talking to a sales robot.
  5. You'r to good for this world if you think that big industrialists don't work together with intelligence companies... They are all in the same money train. In the end it's all about money and control.
  6. Thanks on the chain comment... I can see that is missing. I did give the cap a quick sandblast today, and painted it grey, looks okay for me.
  7. ahh... then I might have one of the last ones of the early type cap ? since mine is 5/71
  8. This one ? http://www.whiteheadperformance.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Datsun-240Z-OEM-Gas-Cap.jpg
  9. OK... I did found a picture of one on google, makes me wonder if it might be an original one ? http://www.whiteheadperformance.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/1971-Datsun-240Z-Gas-Cap.jpg
  10. Naah ....NSA !
  11. That might sound pretty good ! I think the power is more then enough like you state, it's just for some fun... Do a basic check on the engine and service it, new oil, filter, plugs etc, take valve cover off, and check valve clearances first, and lube the top end for the first start like carl suggests.
  12. Don't know, but is this an original or aftermarket fuel cap ?

This is a pain.. but you need to look carefully inside the door panel with a light to see where you have to lift it up to get it open
  14. It's a nice 240Z ! Looks like you get the same wheels as I do. If you need any help or parts let me know...

It's a replica of the original one. A shop in Utrecht ( That's a city here ) that makes custom exhausts made it, using measurements of my old exhaust.

The lowest we have here in Europe is 92 ( Germany only ) and 95 octane, and the highest 102 octane in Germany also. But I believe the manual says 95 minium. My 71 runs fine on 95... But maybe they came with lower compression heads in the US, and you can use lower octane fuel... I don't know.

Went to Stolze, but still no diff Leon... I'll have to wait. But I'm sceptic about it... maybe I have to look for another one somewhere. Meanwhile I sandblasted the rear panels and painted them gloss black with a few clear coats. Yesterday I found the floors of the car covered with water under the mats.. only to be finding the stupid sunroof leaking again . It's inside the garage now, going to decide what to do with the stupid roof, either fix for now or remove the damn thing.
  20. It prob came loose from the slamming. Like racebird1 says, it's a simple push down mechanism, you can push the lever down to open the hatch if you remove the panel on the inside.
  21. Well your going back to a 240z so from a European point of view they are worth more. But it's a late 72 model, but expect some things to do on the car, maybe you can get something off from that 10k ?
  22. ^ I agree with the rest, awesome work. You can get there... I've been that road to, but decided it was really to much rust to continue on it, it was easier to look for a more solid car.
  23. That's a long way all the way from Japan ! I always get beer in Germany, I live close to the border. It's great yup.
