Yesterday another local classic car event, this year was the second time, not so many cars, but still fun !
  2. Mine has a plastic fan and is from 5/71, should it then have had the metal fan instead ?
  3. Maybe then it would be more appropriate to name model changes per production year ?
  4. It's cool, a friend of mine is also into 3D printing, they make the wire for 3d printers.. But those plastic cars will never replace the metal classics for me..
  5. This should be a series 2 right, but it still has the metal cooling fan ? I assume now that there isn't a real " series 1 to series 2 " period they just changed things during the production time ...?

  7. Door seals not to thick ? Before I changed mine I had to " slam !! " the door... to manage 2 clicks..
  8. Happy Birthday ! Mr.K must have seen alot of changes through his lifetime
  9. Yeah. Maybe the AC is the only rare option here I noticed the door seals are shot to. Good catch on the Micro car museum, didn't even notice that !

    Sunday drive through Flevoland
  13. It does like like it has a sunroof
  14. Find a good second hand tank, don't put your life at risk here..
  15. I have a similiar thing, and I installed a new " NOS from Ebay" fuel sender since I was refurbing the tank anyhow. Funny the old one seemed more accurate to me ? Also does anyone have problems when filling up, I find the filler neck very small for today's fuel filler pistols from the gas pump, I cannot go full " throttle " on the fuel delivery.. The 240Z's float reminds me of the one I find on the Chinese scooters today...sometimes they work great, sometimes not.. but I have found this problem on the scooters to be a small clip that has been pushed down to hard in the factory making the float not move easily, so with a small screwdriver I go under the clip to give it some room, and most floats work again after that.
  16. Checked other pictures on google and most early 240z's don't have them. It could be a factory thing, but what did they want to mount to them ?

Okay this morning the wheels where balanced with the hunter road force machine. 1 rim needed a tire rotation on the rim ( high/low spot matching ), the other 3 only weights. I have to say it's much better now only a small amount left ! But that's okay I can't expect a 100% steady steering wheel at higher speeds.
  18. I bet that's fun to drive !

Tried the stock steel wheels and the vibration at higher speeds above 70 mph was much less id say 40% less. So it must be in the tire/wheel combo... The turbo wheels are now back on. I want to try one last thing: road force balancing on the hunter machine. I booked an appointment tomorrow morning, fingers crossed. This is the last thing I will try, if not cured I will live with it.

Dropped the original steel wheels of at the tire shop to get balanced. I want to try them on the car see if the ride is smoother. You won't believe it but I still have little vibration in the steering wheel and trough the car above 70 mph, not as bad as before, but it's still there and I find it annoying on the highway. On the car now are the 280ZX 15 inch turbo wheels with the original lug nuts, you would think it centered fine.. but this system does not use the conical lug nut like the original steel wheel of the 240z does. Now that I have the original lug nuts with the original wheels I wan't to try them out, who knows the ride if finally smooth as it should be.. If this doesn't cure it, I will live with the little vibration and the turbo wheels will go back on.

http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/body-paint-s30/45552-door-slamming-issue-fixed-finally.html Read my post 39 and see the pictures. That seal has the welting ( welting looks the same like the one TS posted ) on to it all in one. I've had no leaks since and easy door closing. If people are interested here I can buy it on a roll. And it's way cheaper than that 185 dollar for the welting alone !

Picked up the original steel wheels and hubcaps. Will store them away. Picture from today, on 21 september will join the last local classic car event, then I will try get it to the paint shop for a respray and sunroof removal.
  24. I recently got information from Shell ( translated with Google ) : This is a fairly complex matter. It is true that there is a European law that ALL oil companies required the ENTIRE EU to dose. 5.75% biofuels in petrol and diesel Exceptions are possible in so-called "premium" fuels, and that the achievement of a certain quota. In those regulations Very simple and short-by-the-curve you can say that you can get as long as the sales share of the "regular" fuel is high enough. Exception for premium fuels In the Benelux and DACH (Germany-Austria-Switzerland) our market share and volume sufficient to apply the Vpower this measure so that's why it is biovrij in those countries. In France, however, we do not make the quota, and the bio Vpower account. Arnaud Fraiteurlaan 15-23 1050 Brussels RPR/RPM 0403.048.262 ---------- Dear, Shell V-Power is a gasoline fuel which does not contain ethanol in its composition, but on the other hand, there is also possible to use the Shell Unleaded 95 brandtof it contains a maximum of 5% of ethanol. According to instructions below, this fuel with a maximum of 5% of ethanol is also acceptable for your classic car. Be careful with the oldtimer, the cleaning characteristics of a V-Power would perhaps be too aggressive for internal closures of classic motorcycles. You can find the website of Shell in the Dutch where are the Shell stations that supply this fuel. With Kind Regards. Met vriendelijke groeten, bien à vous, kind regards Renaud Hayet.
