  1. Double sided tape maybe? I wonder... Sell me the mirrors! haha
  2. Aaaaaaand she is now 100% road legal. Now I figure out why my headlights aren't working.. bah!
  3. Just arrived from the dmv to complete my tranfer title and already got the tags. All I need now is to get it insured in order for it to be road legal.
  4. Awesome.
  5. Where exactly will this be?
  6. I'll think about it, but no promises since, well... it's riding kind of cocked-eyed. haha
  7. I'm borderline Carson/Dominguez Hills, Compton..the good side I like to call it. haha
  8. Update! Went in for a smog check yesterday, needles to say, it passed with flying colors. So after te excitement, I finally installed the ubber-cool aftermarket steering wheel... which I don't have pictures of atm.
  9. This has always been a priority actually, although it did come sooner than expected. But first, I need to get the factory specs... does anyone know where I can get them from? Edit: Nevermind, found them in the FSM!
  10. It didn't get shrugged off.. I was just hoping for the best, trying to be optimistic. haha
  11. Update! So after my little brother got managed to get himself into a car accident (everyone is just fine thank god) the Expedition is now out of order.. which means we need another car... which means there's now a flame has started under my arse to get the Z road worthy ASAP. So today I went to the dmv and paid the transfer & tag fees, after that I took it straight to the alignment shop.. boy was that a buzz kill. Here are the wacky specs, I'll only be putting those to cut to the chase. Driver's front wheel: Camber= -1.8 Passenger's front wheel: Camber= +2.2 Managed to adjust the toe near 0, caster wasn't adjustable. The rear wheels have no adjustment, but the driver's rear seems to have some toe in and the passenger some toe out.. So as of right now I'm at a crossroad..
  12. My garage? I have ALOT of random crap along with alot of car parts that I might never use, alot of tools I can't seem to find when I actually need them.. mostly alot of random. My driveway is a whole different story..
  13. So... problems. I can't figure out how the quick release is suppose to latch onto the hub adapter.. and it's pissing me off! Quick release Hub adapter Steering wheel with a nifty horn button There is a ring for the hub adapter btw.. but I'm assuming it's for when you don't have a quick release. So I'm asking in hopes for useful knowledge... HOW does the quick release attach to the hub adapter? I have a feeling this quick release won't work for it or something.. :ohgeez:
  14. It's nothing special really. You can see the sanding scratches and cracks from when the filler primer was absorbed into the rust primer underneath it from several spots and angles. haha I would've bought some finer grade sand paper and smoothed it out somewhere, but meh..
  15. Mine is the type where you have to drill holes on your hatch... not sure if that makes a difference to you or not.
  16. I'm am seriously on the fence about keeping mine or not.. I just can't decide.
  17. LeonV: I think it's just because I haven't moved it after dropping it off the jack stands. It did straightened out some after I took it for a spin. ============================================================= So after finally taking it for a quick spin around the block.. I was happy. I couldn't stop smiling.
  18. How she sits now.. nice and purrty(er) The fender I picked up was gray in color, I wasn't really wanting to painted but my brother suggested I should paint it.. so I did. Not too shabby. Not proffessional quality since you can see all the sanding scratches and some filler primer cracking up close.. but it's good enough for now imo. Also trying to decide on what to do with the front end.. Here are my possible options. 1) Buy a 280z front air dam and call it a day. 2) Buy a 280z front air damn AND a 240z front bumper. 3) Buy a 240z front bumper, 240z front air dam AND 240z front turn signals and make it work. 4) same as #2 but with an added 240z rear bumper. 5) same as #3 but with an added 240z bumper. 6) Leave it as is. Included in the first 3 options is the obvious removal of the rear bumper also.
  19. Finally had some time for the old girl today. It was filthy before, so I took a screwdriver to loosen the stuck on dirt and simply brushed it away with a hand broom. I should've taken a before picture.. Some close ups. A bolt decided to snap somewhere around here. Damage report Yes... that's a neon light. Managed to slap on the fender but sun went down before I had time to take some pictures.. so I'll take some next time I have time.
  20. The $350 is for the welder only, I am very well aware about the different safety equipment I'll need in order to even use the welder. My welding plans are mostly for the Z.. for now. I'm also curious about doing some fabrication to vehicles, drive train modifications, etc., etc., so I might want to dab on that also. Not sure i that's considered light fabrication or not.. Is this the one you're referring to tlorber? MIG Welder | MIG Welders | MIG Welding ? Eastwood MIG 135 Welder
  21. So I've been seriously tempted in buying and try my hand at MIG welding for some time now. The problem is, I don't have the slightest idea on what welder to buy. My welder budget is about $350. I've read than getting anything below 20%-40% duty cycle is just useless. I'm not sure to take a risk and get a no name welder like this one, NEW MIG WELDER WITH GAS 195AMPS 220V $250.00 or get anything from CL at all. I've seen some pretty tempting welders like these (Need to call to get specs) Lincoln Weldpac mig welder May buy new instead since new goes for around $40(?) more if I do decide to go with this one. Craftsman MIG Welder This one... Lincoln 135 mig welder Or just get the HB special... which I've heard terrible things about. 180 Amp MIG/Flux Wire Feed Welder - 24 volts @ 140 amps ______________________________________________________ I will most likely use it for body work, but would probably end up doing something a bit more thicker than sheet metal in the long run. So basically what I'm asking you welder folks is, what SHOULD I look for when purchasing/using a welder? Any other welder/welding tips & info. is greatly welcomed as well.
  22. Its being a bit harder than expected finding one in good condition for a good price. Everyone is selling them for the price of gold it seems knowing that new ones are available for $200. Man.. this sucks..
  23. No worries. Btw.. does anyone have a spare PS fender for sale? I'm in dire need for one and I'm trying to hold off from spending $200 for a new one. I'm trying to keep the fender budget at $100. LMK if anyone has one!
