The Civic To End All Civics!!!!
Ok, now that is the most impressive body work I've seen in a while...UGLY...but you have to admit, there was some real tallent that went into it. Then the owner goes and F's it all up with that pre-fab speaker box and half-done interior work.

Nice looking deal in FL on eBay
Maybe someone here can give this car a home...she doesn't sound all that bad. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-DATSUN-240Z-PARTS-CAR-INSIDE-STORAGE-10-YEARS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ39405QQitemZ4574100142QQrdZ1

Front Framerails Damaged by Sway Bar
I'm still looking for pix of someone's damaged frame rail and someone's fixed/preventive method in place please. Ok, I looked but your site lists them at $40/set. I'm also curious if the set is only for one side or both (i.e. do I need two sets or one)? Do these come with installation instructions for placement etc?

Front Framerails Damaged by Sway Bar
I thought that there were some threads that discussed this and had pix of the damage as well as the solutions to fix/prevent this (i.e. boxing in the framerail at the mounting location and running the mounting bolt all the way through from top to bottom). However, I can not locate this information and more importantly I could not find any pix! Can anyone please help?

Help me find a Z
Maybe I'm missing the point but I think that your car may be repairable. Buy the frame rails from Charlie at Zed Findings, pick up a steering rack, cross member, and steering column (if needed) used from a Z parts source and you should be on your way.

ACK! I need help to keep my Z from being totaled!
I don't know what it would cost but you may consider having the car appraised by a certified auto appraiser. Be sure to tell them that you need an appraisal based upon on the car's condition prior to the accident...show them the receipts and as previously mentioned have the appraiser add in your shop labor.

Wrongest Registered 70 Z
OH MY GOD!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THIS HAS COME UP AGAIN! Now I'm pissed off at that seller all over again! Not like I was when this happened though, but he's still a liar and an arse in my opinion.

I feel stupid for asking this...
If you haven't already try searching for this on the forum...we have discussed it many times...I myself even asked about this swap a couple years ago. You should be able to locate answers to all your questions fairly easily.

She's DONE!!!
Unbelievable job Ed!! That's a VERY nice looking Z.

What kind of engine build
I'd be interested in knowing what else would bump you from Street mod to E modified since I'm doing a stroker and would prefer to stay in Street mod.

What Car does Speed Racer Drive?
Right you are! More specifically it was the Supercharged Formula 1 Mach 5. And Racer X drove the Shooting Star. In real life there was a Mach 5 built on a Vette chassis, minus all the cool gadgets of course. For all your Speed Racer needs here's the site: http://www.speedracer.com/ And for the real life Mach 5 here's that site: http://www.driveamach5.com/ YES!! I'm a Speed Racer fan...I got a hold of the complete collector's box set a few years back and love it...all 52 episodes! Great topic by the way!!

1976 280z parts
The exterior door handles are interchangeable as long as the one you are not putting in has not been broken at all. I fixed mine just by swapping the side of the car it was on and I'm good until one breaks for a second time, then I'll have to replace it as it would be completely useless (both 'arms' on it would then be broken). As for the spare tire well...there used to be a guy in TN a couple years ago that ran some kind of Z parts business but when I dealt with him he was EXTREMELY SLOW!!! I mean something like 2 months to get the part from his hands to it's destination. Now since you may be in a position to pick it up that may not be an issue for you like it was me. I have a '75 parts car but as I recall the spare tire well was a bit rusty...may still be better than what you are working with and thus worth salvaging. Let me know and I can shoot some pix of it if you like. I have no idea what shipping on something like that would be though.

Great deal on 240 & early 260Z Tokico illuminas with springs Brand new! (Ebay)
Did we ever get the spring rate question answered? For those who don't want to read (or re-read) this whole thread the question is what is the spring rate for the springs included in the Tokico Illumina kit?

Best Struts For The Money?
I got a package deal on eBay a few months back, it included a full set (all 4 corners) of Tokico Illumina's and matched Tokico springs (I do not know the spring rates off hand). The total cost including shipping to my front door...$484 Way cheaper than your quoted price and this included springs. The eBay seller I got them from ALWAYS has this package listed for sale but his price varries a bit. Here's the thread where that eBay deal was discussed: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16649

battery tray Rust!
I get your point now. I thought that we were only talking about the battery tray, but yes your car can and will rust in many other locations if not treated and properly prevented.

battery tray Rust!
With POR15 why bother? The best way to keep this from happening again is not only to POR15 the area but then go to a battery like an Optima.

Throttle Lever - Can it be fabricated?
I have something interesting on the pedal for the hand throttle as well. I believe that I can prove that the cable was the same length for both RHD and LHD cars. If you look at the location of all the parts it seems as though the LHD would need a longer cable...but I have a pedal that came with my hand throttle which shows how this was fixed so that the same cable length could be used. The pedal is an OEM part (not something that was fabricated) from the same car that the hand throttle and center console were pulled from. I will shoot a pic and post it this weekend. Check back...

Throttle Lever - Can it be fabricated?
None of those pix are of my car, just something to help show the parts involved in the mechanism...and apparantly an incorrect implementation at the pedal end in the one you are talking about. As for the auctions, the fuse box had a starting price of $300 with a reserve and a BIN of $500. I'd rather spend $200 on the new MSA one with the late model fuses...but then again I'm not doing a concourse restore. Now the hand throttle...I just offered her $500 for it and was politely told hell no, when someone wants it bad enough they will pay my price, I'll just store it until then. :surprised I didn't expect that kind of reply. She may be right...or she may have two car parts forever for a car she has never owned and cares nothing about. It's sad that some people are SOOOO caught up on money. How did she get them...she told me this "I was cleaning out my dads garage and I found a bunch of new stuff which I have no use for".

Throttle Lever - Can it be fabricated?
In addition to the thread mentioned (I just read it and there's a lot of good info there!) I will point to my website again for many pix (not much if any in the way of write ups but the pix may help out). http://www.pape.ws/allan_and_rosanne/Z-Car_Stuff/Hand%20Throttle/
