  1. Thanks guys!! Got a chance to drive her some more this morning for a 40 mile roundtrip, runs real well. Going to take some getting used to manual steering again, been some years since i've had a car without power steering. Looking forward to tinkering with her and driving some country roads with the windows down.
  2. Well, she's here and she's pretty.....runs good too!!! She's not perfect, paint has got some checking/patina as well as a few minor scratches and dings from storage, but that will allow me to drive her for a little while until I decide to repaint her. Everything works, from the gauges, radio, power antenna, AC.....all except the low beams. High beams work fine, so I have some troubleshooting to do there........ Anyway, here she is being unloaded:
  3. Saw it this morning....sweet car! I know you are hating to see her go......
  4. She's on the truck!!! Totally stoked, she'll be here Monday or Tuesday! I placed the shipping order over a week ago with Reliable Carriers (the ones that do Mecum & Barrett-Jackson), but after 6 days they told me it could be 2-4 weeks due to all the auctions they are doing. Cancelled my order with them yesterday and called Angels Transport, and they said it would be 3-5 days max before they come pick it up. Well it was just over 24 hours...... now the real waiting begins!!!
  5. Saw that one also.....sweet car! Looking at the seller looks like it's a Nissan dealer of some kind. Do wonder what the story is on it, i.e. a RHD Z in the US, especially since they were easily available with LHD.
  6. Think conedodger means Manila as in the Phillippines where Rota has it's factory. He may get them at a discount price, but I imagine the shipping cost, like any to/from a Pacific Island, would be high, negating any savings. I got my Rotas ordered earlier this week, after I found a dealer here on the east coast. I saved about $70 total cost compared to the cheapest dealer from the west coast shipping east.
  7. Looked at the seller's pics of my 280Z once again while I wait for the shipping company to pick it up to bring it to me....sigh.....
  8. Thanks Dave. I'm going to keep her as close to stock as possible, with maybe a few period correct accessories. Like I said earlier, I will get some driving around wheels & tires, but the stock steelies, hubcaps and Uniroyals are being saved for special occasions. Can't wait to get my hands on her!
  9. Thanks! Looking forward to getting her. Thanks for the tip on the stickers, will be looking to see what else she needs. Will be getting some wheels and tires for driving her around and storing the originals for shows.....
  10. Hey gang, well my new toy will arrive sometime next week, as my 280Z starts it journey from Illinois to my house. 1978 280Z 5 speed, one owner, 29,900 miles in beautiful condition. It was parked for 20 years in a climate controlled garage and has been fully sorted out by the seller. Here are some of the pics from the seller: Looking forward to meeting everyone on here! Frank
  11. I'm looking at these also for my soon to be arriving 280Z. I've read the possible center cap problems of the Konigs, along with the fix. It also looks like the Konig can use more of a normal lugnut versus the tuner-type lugnut required for the Rota. What about the offset difference +4 on the Rotas, 0 on the Konigs? How will that compare to the stock metal 14x5 wheels on my Z with a stock height suspension? Will both work without issues using 205/60/15s?? Thanks!! Frank
