Well it was almost 7 years ago so sorry about that, time flies for me now, but my Nissan dealer down the street. $42 I bought all the parts but waited a few years to do the work.

Yeah it's fun after you realize what's not on their screen. I used to get funked up and call local parts stores and asked about a water pump for a '82 911. Keep them on the phone forever.

Anything past '95? they don't know. I'm buying parts for a 240sx as long as they know. You have to just tell them the part number or they argue with you, mine do at least. It may be '93 when they changed over? I can't remember. Another thing just by looking at your original hoses is the heater valve. They go bad all the time and dump coolant on the passenger's floorboard. It's another pain in the butt to change out but sooner or later you'll have a problem. I did the whole thing a year or so ago. The valve is about $40 and you'll need another short hose with it. Sorry I don't have that part number handy but here's the valve.

    Part numbers...

To be honest, it is a pain but I would do both hoses and the rubber gromments on the fire wall Start loosening at the bottom and let it drain. I don't think the contents of the radiator will come out but aftet seeing your photo you need to change the fluid. Shouldn't be rusty looking.

That elbow wouldn't budge for me but that's not saying much as I'm a weakling. You don't want to deadhead the rear of the cylinder head by plugging that elbow. I did and after much scorning and reading learned not to. Here's some reading for you. https://www.google.com/search?q=bypassing+heater+core+classiczcars.com&source=lmns&bih=545&biw=320&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&prmd=vsin&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjc-Y60muPwAhVD0FMKHVtyDcUQ_AUoAHoECAAQAg#scso=_OROsYLK_FIOFwbkPhIK0YA24:0

Appears to be that heater hose to me. You could bypass the heater core using one hose connecting the cylinder head nipple back to the lower radiator hose. You can buy those hoses new from Nissan still, not braided but new. Orrrr cut off an inch or so and see what it does?
  10. And another.
  11. I bought a '76 that wouldn't go beyond idle. Spider web on the afm vane had it stuck. One of my all time lucky breaks. Probably none since then and that was '86, '87.
  12. I think the covid dead cat bounce is on the ground for the last bounce. Guys aren't watching BAT like they were and the game is kind of over now. Time to tighten up those belts finally. Mine been tight so long I have a bruise around my waist.
  13. Nipple, nipple nipple nipple nipple.
  14. Another shade tree trick is to clamp the return fuel line to increase fuel pressure and see if your problem improves. Best of luck and we'd like to see some pics of this car. Sounds like a super nice '75.
  15. I think the throttle switch comes off idle contact about 2500? It may need adjusting or cleaning of the contacts. https://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/tps/index.html

It had nothing on the gauge at idle but it would come up with the RPMs. I got an N42 with internal oiling cam installed just about as soon as I got the car. The motor was needing a rebuild of everything so I got started on that pretty quick. I have one of those "change over" 280s. That odd N47 head and the sloped up rear deck. Oh yeah, I have the stuff to put together an E31 with a cut Nissan internal oiling cam and I'll use a spray bar. From all I read as long as I use a turbo pump it will be fine. The race guys did that back in the days. I run the turbo Melling pump on both my Zs now anyway. One has a spray bar and the other an oiling cam. The 240 with the spray bar pegs the oil pressure gauge when I'm driving. The 280 with the oiling cam just has good pressure.

My 9/76 had an OE N47 with a spray bar and internal oiling cam. Looks like has an N42?

If the valves were out of whack, some too tight, some too loose, you'll get some shiny (too tight) some darker (too loose) cam lobes plus the spray bar having uneven oiling.
  20. Pan in the arse for mr. Berk.

Kind of like a girlfriend, no? Take you down then slowly bring you back to good. I won't get a haircut until she makes me.

My timing light lets me set at the full advance, 34 I think is wherei have it, then I run it up to 3,000 and the timing goes to zero. Can't esplain it though. I do what the voices on my classiczcars.com tell me.
  25. Ah, so the SUs pulled ahead a 1/4 a second. I assumed it was Guy's quick mind ove Eiji's? Power beats the lights. I can't figure how to watch the video! Old arse laptop only plays sound.
