  1. I could not stand looking at the yellow/worn out defrost wire boot, so I molded my own in clear and also a black version. I went with the clear version, just like the original. The one on the bottom is the original and above are my reproductions.
  2. Message I received today from Courtesy today "# B5050-P7100 CABLE SPEEDOMETER is on national back-order status. We typically expect to receive back-ordered parts from this distribution center in 7-10 business days; however, it could take as long as 4 weeks."
  3. I will have the straight version 70-71 next week. Steve
  4. Thanks so much for all your input. I will offer them both ways, a straight version and an angled version. Steve
  5. In my biz I say" cheap repair jobs ain't good and good repair jobs ain't cheap" Funny how people who say" i'm not a good welder" have never welded or tried only one or two times, some of my first welds looked like I was not a good welder either. Now I am a good not great welder.
  6. That would be great, thanks for the input. As you can imagine, it is hard reproducing an item from pictures only. Steve
  7. Dan, very good questions. I could not tell if straight or angled myself. If you look at the very first picture in this thread it looks like they are angled up in that picture. As far as the molded lip, every other grommet has a molded lip on the 240, even the choke cable grommet for the 510 have a molded lip, so I could not tell if after 40+ years the rubber deteriorated and lost the molded lip from a swelling effect? That is why I went molded lip. I have a lead on a early 70 choke grommet that should be coming my way in the next week or so. It will be much easier to reproduce if the nipples are straight and no lip. or if anyone want to ship me their worn out one, I will provide you with a new reproduction plus send your old one back. thanks for the input. Steve
  8. Charles, I know my 7-71 had this at one time, then I upgraded to the current 72-73 version from Nissan. Now back to the original style. Steve

  10. Thank you very much!.. perfect pictures
  11. thanks for all the input, I machined the rest of the parts today for a test sample. Steve
  12. I need help with the early 70-71 choke cable grommet reproduction, if anyone could let me know the length of the two nipples which the wires come out and if the nipples are coming straight out or are they angled up? This is a pic of what I need a measurement of, the two nipples that are joined. Any help would be great or even pictures. thanks Steve I have the nipples machined out, just need the length and angle.
  13. 72-73 choke cable grommet. on a side note, if anyone has an early type 70-71 that would be willing to sell me one, I plan on reproducing the early type but need one for reference. I will buy it or trade for it and then ship you a new reproduction for free. Steve

  15. Charles, the tabs need to be fairly straight and are a tight fit, no glue required. Steve
  16. Another Item is the rubber coating on the wire harness bundle wraps that are predominately found in the engine bay. There is a total of 19 regular size and 2 of the wider type. These will be made to order only and could take up to 2 weeks, since these are very hard to reproduce. At this time I am not making the main wiring harness type.
