  5. My favorite teenage job was the car wash. I was driving my zx then and it always had an amour all interior and a fresh coat of wax.
  6. Single weber??!! I had dual weber 32/36 DGVs on mine, ran like a charm and plenty of power.
  7. Better Yet go to the Nissan dealership and beg them to wash cars, maybe you'll get to take a very close look at the 350z and take it for a small spin across the lot!!

    I think the best possible way to do it is to swap in a L28et engine from a 81-83 280zx turbo. You can keep you existing tranny since it just bolts in (kinda--------simple accomodations for FI and air filters have to be made).

    I 've always wondered if ZMEFLY is taken in texas. I know...Iknow ..... it's already taken here(on this site:dead: ).....but i like it too much and if i can i'd put that on my plates. It might make me put on that front lic. plate i am required to put on by law.

  13. Like Ivan said there are 2 position of the door being closed . Make sure your drivers door is closed all the way. I would close mine and if it didn' t lock the i would lean / push agaist it and i would hear the click sound of the door closing. Then it was a breeze to lock.
  14. In 70-78 the z cars HP was listed in gross HP. That didn't take into consideration all belted on components. Most cars were forced by law to start listed Net HP ratings by 74(?). NIssan was able to keep the gross rating longer for some reason. The Net rating are on the ZX though and are true. So even though that 280zx N/A says 135 or 145 HP it is NET HP(not gross) and has more power than a 78 280z that has 170 gross HP. Sorry to say but yes our 280z's stock have like a 120 HP realisticlly and its 0-60 times and quarter mile times stock actually reflect that. So turbo or stroker? Either way your gonna get a big HP gain. That means whatever route you go your gonna feel the difference. HOw about turbo stroker:devious:
  15. i don't know about the hatch. Under normal operation if it is working properly: turn the key and put it in the horizontal position. then push the button. If it isn't working properly i think there is a way to get it unlocked though it will be very tough and annoying.
  16. The doors can only lock if they are closed. You can't lock the door while it is in a open position. You have to use your key to lock it from the outside while the door is CLOSED.(unless you are sitting inside the car then you can lock it by hand so long as the door is closed.) When i got my first 240Z this also confused me thinking my locks were broken. You will have to try very hard to get locked out of your Z.
  17. Good point. If your 240z has only 107 Hp then 260hp from a stroker would make it very HOT!!! Thats more than doubleing the HP!!! But..........I have a heavier 280z and 300hp (*from an L28et heavily modded $$$$)) sounds better to me than i thought; thats 180hp over stock!!!

  22. I love the sound and look of the triple webers, header, and 2 1/2" setup. For my project it seems i am going to go turbo instead because of the Hp gains easily achievable. I would change my mind if I could supercharge a carb N/A set up and get like 300 horses. I am pretty sure that would be hard to do though and fuel injection is the best way. If I gotta keep the FI then I will just go turbo.

    I have to say i didn't really like the 350z's looks at all when i saw the prototypes. Now after seeing it compared with all the other newer cars, and seeing it on the road a few times(once next to a chevy avalance, that is probably the one that did it for me, made it look like a Z), I LIKE the way it looks.
  25. Supercharge???? Is there a supercharger product that is L motor compatible? I've been wondering about that for a long time.
