  1. This is exactly right!!! I would rather fix a motor, tranny and the complete brake system than deal with a rusty car. A rusty car takes an enormous amount of time (if you do it yourself) or an enormous amount of money (if you pay someone)

  4. is it possible to download them to the site? So they are not dependent on a third party link
  5. I would absolutely consider shipping one. Look for Southern cars, especially SouthWest cars. It's really not that expensive to ship a car, even cross country. I wouldn't buy it, even at $7,000
  6. There are metal clips inside the ss trim

I wouldn't do the loom replacement at this time. Swap the EFI out and get it running good. If you want to rework the loom later do it then. I believe the EFI harness is a stand alone unit. So I think it can be removed when the EFI is removed. That should clean it up some.

A 72 in San Martin https://www.copart.com/lot/58570859 Looks like it was originally blue. Hatch looks to have holes and you don't know where the original title was from. Might be really holey

Your window seems to be coming up at an odd angle. I wonder if you have all the right pieces? I know the glass and regulators changed over the years and I believe the 260z's have a some unique to them parts.
  17. I wonder if you reshaped the copper tips some if the weld puddle would get larger? Maybe flatten the tip some for more contact area. Not suggesting you modify your tips unless they're cheap. Just a thought they look like they might be reversible
  18. In theory, not very hard. They snap off the metal seam at the top edge of the door. some plastic pry bars can help. Just be careful not to warp it when you pull it off.
  19. The rust below the window trim actually starts up under the window trim. It then travels down lifting the paint as it goes. You really need to remove the window trim and sand down the rusty area as far as you can. Neutralize the rust then use a little primer, then touch up paint
  20. Depends how DIY you want to be. Mega squirt being the most DIY Several guys here on the forum are going Haltech Haven't laid hands on either
  21. If you have lots of mods the stock ECU won't work. You will have to move to an aftermarket EFI system

    Hate that!
  24. The plug, if it has the inverted square drive is a solid piece. So you can't snap it like a bolt. Now if the square drive doesn't fit close enough then you might could strip it but I doubt it. The cover I was working on was loose and I couldn't hold it still enough for a breaker bar. I resorted to the impact and it came right out. No problem
