Your car would run like it was on 4 cylinders if you are out 180 degrees. Best way to check that all is well is to bring the motor to TDC on No1 cylinder (being both valves are closed) and the rotor button should be pointing genrally towards the LHS headlight. Check this with the Dizzy Cap and that it is aligned with No1 plug lead. It is easy to get it 180 degree out and the car will start but as I said before it will run like a dog. Biker

Bloody fool is a bit harsh Bravo I would class a drongo as a) Boofhead Dropkick c) dopey Whgen you think about it I suppose its a nice way of saying bloody fool. Most of us could be called a galah at least once in our lives. :cheeky:
  5. George You can get them at any car shop but go for the more pricey ones, around $80. You will get a more accurate reading. Seen them in AutoOne on the weekend. Thought about buying one myself but was saving my money for a colourtune which I have been looking for for a month now. Finally have found one in Melbourne from a company that specialises in camping equipment (Ansco) of all things. biker

Bravo It's always quiet until you take the mickey out of our American friends. I just hope they don't class you as a galah or drongo :classic: Do any of our american friends think this of Bravo????:cheeky: I heard that they have banned sheepskin seat covers in NZ as there are not enough trimmers to keep up with business:tapemouth

Down here in Oz, I don't think we got a choice. The early Zeds come with a mechanical pump only. My 73 certainly does not have an electrical pump, only the mechanical one on the engine driving the round tops:cry:

I went to the store the other day, and I was in there for only about 5 minutes. When I came out there was a motorcycle cop writing a parking ticket. So I went up to him and said, "Come on, mate, how about giving a bloke a break?" He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. So I called him a pencil-necked Nazi. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for worn tires! So I called him a piece of horse s**t. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket! This went on for about 20 minutes... the more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote. I didn't care. My car was parked around the corner. I try to have a little fun each day. It's important. ROFL

Yeah Thanks Brett for asking the question. I had the same problem as well wondering how to start a new thread. Tried my first one the other day and it is still in cyberspace though. Ended up asking a question by piggy backing on to someone else. BTW - great response Alpha - you warped bas***rd:D

I have been speaking to a company called Dashboards Restoration here in Brisbane (see other threads) and they have mentioned that they are about to start making white faces for Zed gauges in the very near future. These will be a day-glo style They said they will keep me up to date on this and minimum quantities at this stage should not be a problem. :classic:

Hey Guys I have just visited dashboard restorations and followed this up with a conversation with Jim Kirk, the owner. The story goes that they can turn around the dash in around six weeks. If you contact their Washington handler, he will arrange everything for the money you pay (customs, shipping, payment). If you contact them they will kindly return your call and explain everything they need. They do not need your gauges as they use their own to make sure that it is a true size. They would prefer that you leave in the vents. I cannot give you the cost as they can only quote me what it costs here which doesn't include shipping and customs. The company has been in the business for 16 years now and when they bring in a container load it consists of all kinds of dashes. They are shipping on a regular basis. I have taken a couple of photos of the Zed dash they have in the shop which is out of a 260Z. This is the website company in Australia. I www.dashboardrestorations.com.au This is Jim Kirks email address which he checks on a daily basis I believe. export@dashrestorations.com
  22. I have just replaced my coil with a MSD Blaster2. I noticed performance was okay but was not as good as expected. The car also stumbled down low. When I removed the plugs, I noticed that it was sooting up so I increased the plug gap from .030 to .038. Performance is better. Any advice on optimum plug gap? When installing the MSD Coil the instructions talked about running a 0.8ohm ballast resistor. Stock standard on the Zed (which I think i have) is around 0.3ohm. Would this make much of a difference. Still running points in the dizzy. Help muchly appreciated. Biker:classic:
