  • About my Cars
I originally owned a 1971 240Z here in Ohio from 1979 to 1982 but the salty winters got to it. On July 4th, 2010 I purchased a MINT RED 1971 Datsun 240Z California car from it's 3rd owner in PA and drove it back to Ohio. Fulfilled a 28 year goal of owning my favorite car. I'm in Z car HEAVEN !!

  1. I'm involved with building & restoring model cars in 1/25 and 1/24 scale. Also have this 1971 240Z which I purchased on July 4th, 2010. I belong to the Cleveland Z Club, or CZC since 2011.  I drove my Z 780 miles to it's first ZCON in Branson Mo. in 2019,  AND won 3rd place in First Generation Stock Class . Enjoy the Z life completely !

  2. The Chassis and Engine Workshop Manuals included are for 1970-1971 along with two combined Engine, Body and Chassis Workshop Manuals versions for both 1972 and 1973 cars. Also has 240Z and 260Z Fuel System Performance Modification Manual for 1973 and 1974 printed by Nissan in August 1975. Glenn
  3. Hello, Yes I did just receive this exact CD for the 240Z and it IS A REPRODUCTION OF THE NISSAN factory original service manuals BOTH THE ENGINE and the BODY SERVICE MANUAL which you can pull up page by page and print out what you need. Also has a handy index on the left edge to speed you to the various chapters....NO CHILTONS REPROS HERE!!!!! Also contains the Owners Manuals for several years too. Well worth the price!!!!! carmodelman Glenn Marek
  4. Hello Fellow Z Car Fans, This is my first post and question. I purchased a mint RED 1971 240Z in July that is factory stock in all respects. My mechanic told me that the left rear McPherson strut has leaked out all its fluid and needs to be replaced. In looking at the Black Dragon and Motor Sport catalogs they only list gas struts as replacements. So my question is ..To keep the car as original as possible should I replace them with an oil filled strut and where is the best source for a quality strut..OR are the gas struts so superior in ride quality (not to harsh riding) and no body will know the difference any way?? Thanks for any response from those who have resolved this on their own 240Z!! Glenn
  5. Hello fellow Z car fans.

This is my first post and question.

I purchased a mint 1971 RED 240Z in July that is factory stock in all respects.

My mechanic told me that the left rear oil McPhearson strut has leaked out all it's fluid and needs to be replaced.

In looking at the Black Dragon and Motorsport Auto catalogs they only show the gas struts as replacements.

So my question is..To keep the car as original as possible should I replace them with an oil filled strut and where is the best source for quality cartridges...OR are the gas struts so superior in ride quality (not too harsh riding) and no body will know the difference any way??

Thanks for any responses from those who have actually resolved this on their 240Z !! Glenn
