Hello all. I am new to the Forum and filled with a lot of questions. I just got a 240 and am taking the advise from the members and going slowly. But at work, a interesting question arose. Well the 280 5 speed tranny bolt up in my 240 with NO modifications? It was a thought but I dont want to go at it with a blow torch! I also heard that I have to modify the shift lever. Is that true? About two weeks ago, I became a member and because I was getting my moms 240. Its a 6/72/ Its also been sitting in a field in Nevada for about 15 years. How ever, the body is in good shape and no cancer in the pans. The hoses are Shot and I am looking for replacements BUT I see a lot of Non-Braided Nissan hoses. For a restoration, are those OK? And there is even some Reproduction hoses. It also looks like there was a after market chrome part added to the front bumper. Is that OK for a restoration? And the hatch back is black. Do you think that came off a different car? I am all full of questions but I will keep them to a minimum for now. Being new to all this but very excited, I am all ears! But anyway, heres some pics!

Hello all! I wish to say HI and do a brief intro on my self. First, I'm Steve and second, My mom just gave me her 1972 240. It has not moved in over 10 years so its going to need a LOT of luven! All the parts are there and the body is in fairly good shape! I know I am going to need to do a complete rebuild on it and I am ready for the task but I also know that many parts are no longer available so I well be asking a lot of questions on where to find or how to make parts. So for the next few years, please bare with me and my Z -Car ignorance while I stumble my way into this new world! Hope to learn and make a few new friends! Polecat
