  1. Thanx for all the help bro and sorry for the delayed response.
  2. Kool! Do you have a part number that you can give me? Thank you John
  3. Today while i was taking the old brake rotors out and noticed that the little rubber boot on the drivers side ball joint on the outer tie rod was missing. What is the cheapest fix for this problem? Do i have to replace the outer tie rod end and ball joint? or can i just go out and buy a new rubber boot for the existing ball joint? I'm on a rather tight budget currently and need to save every dollar i can. Thanx John
  4. Well I want to make a custom spoiler for my 240Z and so I drew a few sketched. Please provide you opinion as to which spoiler you like best or is the car better off without a spoiler or suggest a new design. The spoiler will be made of fiber glass. I’ll first make a consumable mold out of Styrofoam and then glass over it. NO SPOILER SPOILER 1 SPOILER 2 SPOILER 3 SPOILER 4 SPOILER 5 SPOILER 6 SPOILER 7 SPOILER 8 SPOILER 9
  5. Well after doing more research into wire wheels; I've decided they are going to be more trouble than they are worth. thanx for all the help guys.
  6. I am trying to decide if I should buy some wire wheels from my 240Z. If anyone has picture of a Z car with wire wheels please post. I really like wire wheels but am a little unsure as to whether or not they will look right on a Z.
  7. Hi guys, I've been trying to upgrade the brakes on my 240Z; but am finding that all the online vendors are charging way too much for simple parts like a pair of 0.663" spacer for $120 shipped. Any way long story short i've found a nice local CNC machine shop that will machine the spacer for me @ $35 per spacer. The catch is that they will only machine in sets of 10 spacers at a time minimum. So I'm here to see if anyone else needed a the spacers for the brake upgrade. If you are looking for spacers please let me know. You would be paying $35 per spacer +3% paypal fee + Shipping (including packing material). I am having the spacers machined off the drawing that was made by zcarnut . To the best of my knowledge this spacer only works for the 240Z. http://home.earthlink.net/~zcarfan/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/spacer.jpg I am also working on finding a shop with a CNC mill that will make the Maxima bracket. I'll let you guys update on the status of that quest.

I am looking for a detailed drawing of the 81-84 Maxima that is used with the ZX rear caliper rear brake conversion. I could have sworn I'd seen one on the forum not too long ago but now that i need it i just cant find it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated
  10. After doing a lot of research i have decided not to use the 5 lug adapters on my car as it would put unnecessary stress on my wheel bearings. So i will be going with 4 lug rims on the 240Z. If there a difference between rims for Front wheel drive and rear wheel drive car? What do you guys think of17" Motegi wheels? Does Motegi Racing make good wheels?
  11. I just talked to the seller and he said the wheels have a +2" offset.
  12. I found a set of Jaguar rims that I really like and wanted to use on my 70 240Z. The body work of the car is stock. The rims are 17"x8" and should have no problem with clearance/rubbing. But I am not to sure as to whether or not they look disproportionately big for the car. Please give me your opinion on 17” wheels for a 240Z. If you are running 17” wheels on your S30 please post a picture so I can see approximately what it would look like. My car is going to be painted a beautiful white with lots of pearl. Below are a few pictures of the rims.
  13. Anyone ever use these adapters for the 5-lug conversion on a S30? I would like to use these but want to make sure it does not have an adverse affect on my car. http://www.ezaccessory.com/Wheel_Adapter_4_Lug_4_5_To_5_Lug_4_5_p/4450-5450.htm

x2 I might be in the market for a air dam soon.

  16. Thank you for all your help guys. She is up and running and sounding amazing. The problem was a loose wire inside the distributor.
  17. No I did not replace the rotor and cap. Guess that should be my next step. I cleaned the carbs inside and outside. I found that the choke was stuck and on the front carb the needle was a little bent. I fixed those problem and the carbs work beautifully now. The piston moves nice and smoothly as you have described.
  18. ok will a lotta research i think i have the problem narrowed down to the distributor. I am getting spark at the ignition coil but no spark or random sporadic sparks at the spark plugs. I used the information of the site below to trouble shoot: http://warbuddies.homestead.com/240Zignition.html anyone have a good resource on " How to test the distributor"?
  19. Could it be something simple like having the plug wires connected wrong. Which causes the plug to spark before the inlet valve is closed which in turn causes pressure buildup in the intake manifold and balance tube? And if so do you count the cylinder closest to the front bumper of the car as cylinder No. 1 or is it cylinder No. 6 :tapemouth
  20. Hey guys I have an opportunity to pick up these guns locally for $200 each. Devilbiss GTI 620G HVLP paint gun with size 1.3,1.4, & 1.5 tips, comes with regulator and hook stand in original box. Like new $200 Devilbiss SRI-625G HVLP paint gun, used very little $200 Does anyone have any experience with these guns? I would only be purchasing 1 of these guns.
  21. Do you have a photo or diagram with desription of the balance bar that i could look at?
  22. I was trying to tune my carbs and cranked the engine a few times and the rubber plug on the balance tube flew off with a lotta force.
  23. Found this DeVilbiss Auto Paint and Priming System that seems to be of good quality. Any of you guys ever use this kit? http://www.eastwood.com/paint-equipment/paint-guns/devilbiss-auto-paint-and-priming-system.html
  24. WOW Thank you for all the awesome information about painting and proper safety precautions. I am intending to paint the car in my attached garage and will be sure to take all the necessary safety measures to ensure that no harm comes to me or anyone else. I had already planning to buy a painters suit, gloves and respirator but I suppose I need to look into a means to exhaust the spent air out of the garage so that it does not contaminate the house. I have been doing a lot of reading about different guns and am leaning towards the harbor freight 43430 HVLP gun. It seems to be getting a lot of good reviews from amateur / novice painters such as myself. And at a price point of ~$40 it seems to be an awesome gun.
  25. Well i have decided to paint my own car and am in the market for a good paint gun @ a resonable price. I not really sure as to how much i need to spend on a paint gun since i'll proabbly only use it a few times. Do i need seperate guns to spray primer, paint and clear? What brand should i buy? (My car is a daily driver and not a show car) I have been reading online about spray guns and it seems that i should get a HVLP gun for automotive paint purposes. Please share any painting tips or trick that might prove useful to someone that has never used a spray gun before.
