Anybody ever been to Seoul, Korea?
My best friend did two years as a Marine Security Guard (MSG) at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul. He loved it. I'll ask him if he has any suggestions. Nate

Finally - My Z Arrives
Noise from the left rear sounds a bit like a rock stuck in tire, with the sound speeding up as the tire rotation increases and vise versa. If I make a left and the weight transfers to the right side of the car the sound stops until the car levels back out again. The day I brought her home my friend was following me and said that the left rear tire was moving up and down quite a bit as I drove. I figure its the strut and I'll just replace them and be done with it. I'm thinking KYB's. Nate

I've got some issues. Under deceleration I notice quite a bit of whining coming from the rear. That typical sound you get while backing up in most M/T cars. Do ya'll think it's the Diff? I'm wanting to drain the Diff fluid, How do I fill it back up? Do I need to drop the whole rear end? I also need to replace the U joints on the drive shaft, the axles seem alright though. I have a noise that seems to be coming from the left rear... pretty sure this is a worn out strut, when I make a left turn and the weight is unloaded from that side the noise goes away. She HATES to get cranked up when cold. After being driven shut off and then cranked back up shes fine. I plan on doing a complete tune-up in the next couple of weeks, but I feel this is a carb problem. I also need to adjust the choke, right now I have to pull it all the way back and hold it, other wise I'll be out there longer trying to get her started. Door seals... Hatch seal... hood/cowl seal... I could keep going, maybe later. But still, driving the Z is like nothing else on earth. Simple and Amazing! I love her! I grin from ear to ear just seeing it. And whether I want it or not she attracts plenty of attention. Nate

Hey Frank! How's things in Canada, eh? Mine is the OIL cap too. You've got my attention on all of the above items. If you could PM me with more info that would be great. Being that this is my first Z and I've yet to tear it apart yet, why does there need to be a metal bracket fabricated? I'm capable of the fabrication - just curious as to why. Nate

I've got the same one Chris! It's been my inspiration to get the exact one I've always wanted. Unfortunately I will be in Northern California during this show, I really wish I could go. Looks like my first show will be the 2005 ZCC in NY. I am moving up that way in June, so it's too perfect. Come on down! It'd be great to have you. All I know about showers is that the showeree get lots-o-presents J/K

Finally - My Z Arrives
It's here!!! A purchase that began just after Christmas has completed! After all these years my searching has ended. I picked her up today. When I got there she had a dead battery so I had to jump her. I'll figure out the cause of that shortly. Here she is... 1972 Datsun 240Z, Orange (918), Black Interior, Original L24, Original 4 spd, Original Z hubcaps, Original Owner, Dealer Installed A/C, HLS30-47945. Manufactured 9/71. Does NOT have retracting seat belts. Defrost lines ARE vertical. Needs new dash - original has like 4 or 5 major cracks. New Glove Box Door - original is hanging on for dear life. A couple of good size dings - Drivers door & roof?!?, also passenger door has a bit of a ripple effect to it. Center console has a few small cracks, the shift boot has seen better days. The dome light cover is cracked. Question - Did the rear shock towers ever come carpeted... cause they are now. All in all though, she is complete! And more importantly she's mine! More to come as I get to comb over her with more time and day light. Nate

Tire Size?
They're on the way! I got her home and gave her a bath. After that I had very little light left so here is a teaser until I can take more...

Tire Size?
My Z is HERE!!! Tire size on the stock wheels is 185/75R14

Before picture #2
Hey Bill, I am putting these same wheels on my 72 240... what size tire is on the Z in these pictures? Looks to be a pretty darn nice specimen!

Tire Size?
Yeah, that has been one of my concerns, the 240 vs. later models. As the car got heavier how did the suspension change? It looks as though I will go with the 215 60 R14. Any input on how to adjust the speedo to make it accurate? How about the speedo gears? This tire selection will cause the speedo to be off by 5-6%. Meaning that at 60 it will indicate 63-ish. Nate

I was actually looking to buy from them! Nate

Tire Size?
Stephen, From what I was gathered the 175R14 was the early Z tire. When they switched to the wider rim they went to the 185R14. If I am mistaken please correct me. If I was to use a 225 how much do they "bubble" out? I'm not looking to get a real bubbly effect. Thanks for the input Stephen... I got the wheels last night & can't wait to put them on the car which should be here tomorrow!!! Nate

Tire Size?
Thanks Carl! That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Anybody else have any input? If I go with the 60's what speedo gear would I need to get it right? If I go with the 60's then I will most likely go with the 215 60's. I hear the 225's rub or come real close to rubbing (the strut maybe?). Thanks again

Tire Size?
I know it's a topic that has been touched on before but I have not found what I am looking for using the search. Here's what I've got... '72 240Z all stock. I have a set of aluminum ZX 6 spoke 14x6 wheels. I have seen a set of 215 60's and 205 60's on a 240 but I would like to know if anyone has tried a 205 70 r14. If so, do you have any pictures? I am afraid that the tire will look too tall on the car but the speedometer will be extremely close to accurate if I go with the size. I plan on purchasing a set of Yokohama Avid T4's for these rim's but I am reluctant about which size to purchase. Any tips, comments or concerns would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nate

B&M wants to borrow your car!
Your request is for me to change my username to reflect my being an expert on rational and/or reasonable processes? Or were you just trying to use your new word of the day in a sentence? You are revealing just how odd you are with each new reply. Your constipation of the brain and diarrhea of the "mouth" has caused even yourself to wonder grossly off topic. Back to the point... You would like to see an aftermarket manufacturer of shifters produce and market an automatic shifter for the S30 model that replaces the stock auto shifter with one that is designed to look like an aftermarket manual shifter. Furthermore you would like people at this online forum to rally around you and help support this cause. Currently you have found not one soul here that has the same desire as you. Good luck in your search. Now, since you seem to love the last word, the floor is yours. With discretion being the better part of valor, I have nothing else to add to this thread... especially since there is not a single automatic in my driveway.

B&M wants to borrow your car!
What the hell does that mean? Are you implying that Ford makes a better quality product than Honda? If so you must be legally retarded. Honda makes a damn good vehicle, none that I feel the need to drive but I never thought twice about buying my wife her Integra. 165,000 miles = a $95 radiator and a $50 master cylinder- the car owes nobody anything. Now my biggest automobile purchasing mistake was the *cough* Ford I once had that started all it's major problems at 10,000 miles. All this BS bickering back and forth makes every participate here look like a bunch of bitter old women, myself included. In fact if the whole thread disapeared it wouldn't be an injustice to anyone. No futher traffic to pass. Out.

"The doctors said, 'If you're going to have a nail in the brain, that's the way you want it to be,"' she said. "He's the luckiest guy, ever." And this is why they go to medical school!?!?!?! My question is... was there no blood?

B&M wants to borrow your car!
So you want them to make a product so you can put it in your car and it doesn't have to fit? You lost me on that one.
