COVID-19
One day we'll all look back on what this did to society and as an individual. I traveled extensively around the world during the 2009 swine flu (over a billion suspected cases), and no place, even China where the worst death rates were did people treat one another poorly. Some people wore masks, most didnt, yet no one scolded, belittled, brow beat anyone, ever. So from 2009 till now, we all have reduced ourselves to 8th graders, pitting one group against the other. Why? My mother taught me is you dont have anything nice to say, they stay quiet.

COVID-19
No masks since a long time ago in Florida, its been pretty normal. No mask mandates, bars restaurants operating normally like nothing happened. Even went into a medical facility and wasnt required to put a mask on.

240z VIN# 960 Restoration
Yeah, you definitely have the monkey on your back. I did this back about 20 years ago, but mixed in a few Beetles. But then a really nice 240z driver was $3000, and my 1.0 didnt have much tolerance for it, but 2.0 told me to go get the 1970. I think I'll keep her. I still keep and drive old VW's as well as the Zcars, but just Oval window mid 50s cars. The cool part is, after collecting parts for the last almost 30 years I can support restoring them without having to hunt down $100 gas caps and $900 deck lids. I knew there was a method to my madness (sickness).

240z VIN# 960 Restoration
I have a 73 I'm a third through currently on a rotisserie, I never intended to get this project, but the price was right, I had to do it. I'm up to my armpits in ZCars and parts. I building a shed next to my shop to create an annex.

240z VIN# 960 Restoration
No, it was in the Florida panhandle. Been eyeing this car for a few years, really didnt have room for it, but where theres a will theres a way. Maybe I need the one in N. Alabama........like a new hole in the head.

240z VIN# 960 Restoration
1/70 Car was painted really well, BUT, the body of the car has a few areas of bubbling and a little funkyness to it on the roof, sides, and rear valance, going to have to strip it down. I'm guessing where the body work was done wasnt prepped correctly. Doors, hood and all the other parts have no issues. So it will take some time.

240z VIN# 960 Restoration
Just acquired HLS30-960 restoration already in progress. The car has been sitting for about 10 years after paint and body and is really nice shape. All the original parts are with the car. Original 904 white was applied, and due to many extra interior parts that came with the project, it was either blue or black interior. My plan it to put the blue interior in it. Dash has two small cracks that will have to be dealt with.

Blocking fresh air chimney?
I thought there was discussion a while back about this, but can't recall the details.

Blocking fresh air chimney?
I'm at the point that I need to weld in my patch panel inside the cowl area where the fresh air chiney lives. If a system like the Next Gen is going to be installed, do I need to put the chimney back, or should I just delete it? Its already cut out, just getting ready to install my patch.

Restoration of HLS30-12070
Man, I know I keep commenting on this build, but you need to sell passes to the club members like a Disney ride to come see this thing when you're done. Thanks so much, this keeps me motivated on my 73 build.

Restoration of HLS30-12070
I'm a firm believer no matter the restoration, cars arent meant to sit. I always can fix rock chips etc. But you bring up good point. When I started messing with Z's 30+ years ago, who would have ever thought these cars would be valued like they are today. I'm doing a rotisserie job on my 73, and never thought that I wouldnt use it regularly, and I still plan to, but if the car is worth several thousand dollars after restoration, at what point do you not worry about a paint chip, but being a target for theft just because the internet says an old cheaply made Japanese sports car is worth $xxxxxxx. I know "D" hubcaps arent 73 correct, but I plan to run them, and now I'm concerned about that, just because how expensive they are getting, I mean you just pop em off with a finger.

Another ebay car....
I have an option of buying a series one in the 900's VIN. Its mostly there, but the body will need some finessing. All of the regular areas of bad rust seem to be clean, just some panel work, etc. Rails and floors are actually solid.

Another ebay car....
What would a 1970 Z with a vin number under 1000 be worth, assuming its intact and mostly original?

Merry Christmas all
Mmmmm. I flew my wife in on Christmas day, had prime rib, baked potato and asparagus at the hotel.

Merry Christmas all
I travel the world for work, more days than I can think in hotel rooms, I'm thankful for this site to keep me in touch with the outside world I'm familiar with and all of the wonderful conversations and knowledge here. I know it may sound corny. But in the hotel looking out over the empty city out there on Christmas Eve, I'm pretty grateful. Oh, and Ebay.

How to find original paint color for 240z
I'll just pick the rarest color and interior combo and bill it as that, what could go wrong? Honestly though, if the car is restored, new paint, interior, are put into a certain category to begin with. Originality is out the window.

How to find original paint color for 240z
I see what the issue is. I left out the word color in my post about "still calling it original". I would like to do it the original color so IT can be original as far as color. Of course I wouldnt say it was the original paint, thats silly.
