  2. That is a beautiful car.
  3. I'm still a little ways off on the bumper, car still on rotisserie with metal work. I started a build thread for it, but I'm not that diligent on keeping up with pics. I find myself working on it then realize I didnt take any pictures. I still welcome the visit, at least for moral support. I'll send a PM.
  4. I didnt think about extending the mount outside the bumper to steady the lights, makes sense. More holes......
  5. I plugged all the holes except two, taped an air chuck onto an inlet and cut the tank all along the seem. Blasted and welded back together.

I own #960, it has the defroster. 1/70
  7. Great topic. I am doing this as well on my 73 restoration, and didnt realize until now that there was a name for this. I have been looking at my bumper for months and have decided I will mount the bumper, then measure and cut and weld the uprights while mounted on the car. I plan to use some hefty flat bars for the verticals and when its all together have it all chromed. I have some vintage NOS Hella clear lamps and two vintage amber lamps to to have 4 lamps across the front. I also plan on using the stock over rider as well. Ever since seeing the rally cars from back in the day, I thought those bumpers were the coolest thing. The low profile of the hood and bumper arrangement lend nicely to tuck the lamps in there for a daily driver.

Got home a few times that way.

Almost sent my mom's MG through a store front because I decided to turn the key from the passenger seat when I was a kid.
  10. In the States they always had the numerical identification. I get your drift though.
  11. Well, one part of the Government.
  12. So the first Z that will have no number attached to it. Reminds me of "New Beetle", eek. Hopefully the outcome will be better than VW's. A theory though. In todays environment with this generations inability to latch onto something and stick with it, maybe there has been a paradigm shift to where no matter the product, the attention span of a flea will be the downfall of many great products. There are a few cars that were supposed to make a splash, but fizzled.
  13. The screens are not called for in this car. Maybe the center stack one is with everyone having to be "connected", but the cluster should have been analog.
  14. Finally something other than yellow.
  15. Since the door with the 260 badge is the same color as rest of the car, I'm guessing this was done several decades ago when they probably "all looked alike" after some kind or respray or repair.

Same. I havent watched the news in almost 10 years, and now its getting to the point you cant even read it. You seem to do what I adopted about 2 years ago. Go out to the shop, put come CDs in, mow the grass, etc etc. Keep the faith and still go to the ballot box. America is going through a cultural revolution, albeit a weak one, this will pass, or collapse under its own weight.

I never saw that request, my apologies. I for one cant stand the political rhetoric with this, but the previous post describing two locations and the stark contrast has everything to do with politics.

Lets not disregard the political aspect of this pandemic. In Florida, the Governor dropped the mask mandate months ago and left it to the Mayors. Miami (Dem) kept lockdowns in place, certain percentages in bars, restaurants. Jacksonville (right of center sort of) did away with all restrictions soon after the Governor dropped his mandates. Ashville is utra Liberal. California, Maryland and the likes were all pushing some kind of restriction in lockstep with most Liberal centers. Not at all am I stoking a political discussion to be beaten like a dead horse, but there is definitely merit to the Left vs. Right aspect. Also note, after the mandates were dropped in Florida, the difference between lockdown States and free States were not far different in cases and deaths.

One things for sure, the pandemic has created enemies and allies. Vaccine or not to vaccine. So what is the mortality rate of covid? I know several people who were asymptomatic, so how many people had it but didnt know it and never got tested? So if millions upon millions are positive with covid and dont know it, the mortality rate is definitely not what being reported, it would have to be a whole bunch better, no? Deaths against cases, right? Well how many cases are there?
  23. Hopefully it was done back when that was a thing to do. Its like taking the V12 out of a Jag XJS and putting in a 350 Chevy.
