  1. I love it how you have parts just dyting around the house! Are you going to put the original bumpers back on or go with a 240 style bumper?
  2. When are we going to see pics of this car of yours huh?
  3. There is a metal wire clip in the connector. Just remove that and she will slide right off.
  4. That it is buddy that it its! Im alittle rusty on location names and what not but im getting there. C
  5. It’s located in the thermostat housing. Here is a picture to help you out.... If you wiggle the connection while she is running then she dies you have got a bad connection. New connector costs about 9 bucks. Easy fix, I hope that’s your problem.
  6. I bought a 76 280z last year with this same kind of problem. I changed the Temp sensor and switch like suggested but the problem was a blown head gasket. Is the passenger side of the engine block lightly damp with oil between the 6th and 4th cylinder? Was in my case.
  7. I love the sound of the exhaust! What you got on it?
  8. I dont think he's askin' enough!?!:stupid:
  9. Yeah I have only been into these cars for a year and when I saw that I started scratching my head!?!
  10. Ok Sweet! Thanks arne! Im going to have to look you up next time im in Springfield and take a look at your rides! Do you know any Wyatts down there?
  11. I saw this thread last night and it got me wondering if mine was original or not. My 280 was made 1/76. So is this the original spare? Its a Toyo Z. It looks as if its never been used. It still has the white pouder on it and red lines on the surface of the tire.
  12. Im guessin the fuel is not burning so its just building pressure up in the fuel lines and finding the weakest point.
  13. I went outside where I have had the z covered all winter and tried to see if she would start. To my surprise she did! But still ran like crap! I uncovered her really fast then drove her in the garage then shut her off. There was gas leaking from the back at the fuel pump. Some old fuel lines needed replacing. Fixed them then started the car. The lines werent leaking. Problem sloved there. When I looked up there was fuel squirting out around the first fuel injector. All the lines for the injectors are new. Is this common when you have a blown head gasket or do I have some find of fuel problem?
  14. 76' 280z-paid 1900.00 bought 04/08 Love the car but I have had nothing but problems with her since I brought her home!
  15. Post pictures of the condition of your Z when you first got it and how much you paid. Also what year you made the purchase. Figured this would help people that are currently in the market for a Z car. Its also fun to post pictures of your ride!
  16. Looks like a GREAT find man! Get her cleaned up, running, painted and you got a sweet ride!
  17. I have also replaced the old temp switch. The older one was not even wired in. I found a wire that had been cut so I just figured that must have been the wire so I wired the switch in. could if be that I wired the switch in wrong?
  18. Yes. replaced the senor and the connector. Still have the same problem....
  19. Ok back in november I thougt I might of had a blown head gasket and I still might but... I was thinking maybe the problem is in the fuel. The car is so hard to start and when it does run it hardly stays running. The car does push out a little white smoke but not tons. I looked at the oil and it looks fine. Have not drained the oil tho. Looked in the raditor, looks like there might be some small beads of oil in the coolant but not totally positive. This all started when the car would just die while driving it. So what you all think?!? The car is a 76.
  20. Did you have the head shaved? There might have been a problem with your head. If so you will still have the problem you have no matter how many times you replace the gasket.
  21. Well before I posted this thread I placed a bid on some door locks on ebay. Spent 81 dollars for the set and they are new so I hope they work. I hope to take the new ones and have them keyed to my old set so I dont have 3 keys for the z.
  22. Im just looking for the doors.
  23. Does anyone have a working set of door locks with keys for a 76 280? If you do how much? Mine are not working at all.
  24. Tim 76' 280Z posted a post in a topic in Interior
Thanks Ron. Those door panels look sweet. I guess you just need to take your time and make it what you want. Ive never done something like this before but it should come out ok. It would be nice to get some step by step pics on doing something like this or even a video.
